not happy that he is leaving as really rate Morrison. However he wasn't likely to dislodge Bikey or Ben Haim any time soon. At least we are getting a fee for him.
No wonder players are not loyal to clubs. Think he has been treated poorly by us.
Sorry but there are at least two players who are considerably better than him who play in his position. Past services to the club do not entitle him to a starting XI spot and he was unhappy with sitting on the bench. We allowed him to go out on loan and have allowed him to leave. How is anything about that poor treatment?
No surprise really. Good luck to him, has been an important player for us in his time here.
It'll be interesting to see if Gomez is used at CB at all this season. Onyewu only has a contract until January so if that's not extended I'd expect us to bring someone in.
Sad to see him go but can't blame him for wanting to play football and can't blame the club for getting a fee for a player clearly 3rd or 4th in the current Head Coach's view.
I would have liked him to stay but good luck Morro.
people saying he has been badly treated when He hasnt at all, he got offered a new contract which he took,he just isnt good enough to start beause the club has progressed. At least we get a fee for him. This situation is the complete opposite of the diego poyet saga and people moaned then, but still moan now.Cant win.
Good luck morro, you are a decent league 1/championship back up defender

Was asked by SL fan on Twitter about Onyewu as he thought he was going to SL in January.
Morrison joined Charlton at a time we needed each other, he had a raw deal at Sheffield and we were rebuilding. He was great for us and we were great for him. Sadly all players face being replaced ... Kinsella, Kiely ... As we can see he can do s job in this league so it would have been wrong for him to be stuck on the bench if he wanted away for the starting place he could command elsewhere.
Should be no regrets on either side and no one has been tested badly.
Sad to see him go, an excellent defender and in my opinion one of the better ones in the championship. Personally would like to see him in our side now. Whatever anyone says he was one of our most consistent performers in the last 3 years.
thanks MM, here are your stats over the past three seasons:
11/12---played 45 games---average mark 7.13---MoM 3 times and top three 12 times 12/13---played 44 games---average mark 6.81---MoM 1 time with top three 14 times 13/14---played 44 games---average mark 6.50---no MoM but 12 top threes
Shame to see him go, but he is too good to be sitting on the bench and deserves to play in a starting eleven. Always an absolute gent when met him at events or in public. Polite every time and happy to talk football.
Sorry to see him go and wish him all the best (except when playing us).
I don't know what proper Charlton means. Can you explain? When he was at Leicester was he proper Leicester? When he was at Sheffield We'd was he proper Sheffield Wed? It is one of those meaningless Football phrases.

My definition of 'proper Charlton' is a player who gives everything he has for the shirt and turns out when needed even if not 100% fit or certain as to his future contractual status.
150 appearances in three and a half seasons bears that out in my view.
A sound, consistent and very gutsy player. His leadership, together with that of Jacko, played a big part in keeping us afloat last year. I wish him every success.
I hope we got a decent fee, although I somehow doubt that we recovered our original outlay of around £200,000. A very good signing by Rowett.

We go him on a fee but agree with the rest.
Good player who played with heart and effort.
Was also part of a successful team.
Shame to see him go but everyone leaves in the end. Deserves a big cheer when we play them up there (before the game starts).
Good business signing him on a deal in the summer so now getting a fee. Who would have thought of that idea.
No wonder players are not loyal to clubs. Think he has been treated poorly by us.
Good luck Morro top player.
How's that? we have two players in front of him, he clearly wanted to move and play first team football so we've allowed that. We could have kept him on the bench just in case of an injury but we haven't.
Think Charlton have done the honorable thing and let him go.
It's more about the fact he signed a new contract with us in the summer when no one knew what direction the club was going in. Not saying he should be starting but loaning him out then bringing in the other fella in just seemed pointless. Keep him on the bench and his time will come to break in the first team.
I had the Good fortune to speak to Morro on a few occasions, the last being the kit launch at Sparrows lane, Of all the current players I have met in the side he was an immensely likeable guy, who was down to earth and one who I thought would be the next captain after Jackson. He had a bit of a wobble last season, but came back as solid as ever and I always felt the bloke played with every effort. Alway's thought he was a threat when he went forward for corners, and too me I am very sad to see him go. Good luck anyway Morro, and thanks for the effort you put in for CAFC.

really liked Morro and he never let us down, best of luck
Apart from 'undisclosed' how much do you reckon we'll get for him?
Has @Curb_It seen this yet?? Better get the tissues ready...

Some cracking goals posted by Plentyofshots.
Good luck to him and his family.

Always gave it 100% - top bloke

I thought Birmingham were flat broke.
