  • I remember King Arthur Horsfield starting out as a centre forward and moving to Centre Half.
  • edited October 2014
Paul Warhust Wendies, Blackburn and Palace and Ian Marshall Oldham?
  • Me bestie Liam Ridgewell used to bang them in up top before moving to centre back
  • I said a while back I could see us defending 1-0 defeats if we went down to an early goal. Well, here comes another one, we do not have a goal in us without Vetokele. Absolute best chance they can,t hit a barn door and its 0-0
  • Was not Morrow not once a centre forward.

Good header of the ball. Could do a lot worse.

Paul Went was occasionally moved up front late in games.
  • Nailed on 3 points for Bolton - 3-0
Bolton 71% possession, 17 shots on target and 22 corners.
    Henderson MOTM
  • Buyens complains of tiredness and Jackson is tired in last 30 mins. If this game is won in midfield (which it probably will be) then it needs Cousins in midfield with some energy. It worries me that buyens poor performances of late are by his account down to his tiredness. We need his sharpness of passing (seriously lacking of late), Jacksons talismanic presence, and Cousins high work rate to win this. The fact that heads dropped after three minutes on Saturday means we have to score first tomorrow night. Trouble is finding someone to put the ball in the net (other than for a penalty) outside of vetokele. Tucudean? I hope so.
  • Looking forward to the game but have a nasty feeling this could be a banana skin. Playing for a new manager will give Bolton some added impetus and they are coming off a good win on Saturday. If we sneak a 1-0 I will be delighted.

  • I would like to see (taking into account injuries)

    Henderson
    Wilson, TBH, Bikey, Wiggins
    JBG, Buyens, Cousins, Bulot,
    Tucudean, Moussa

Subs, Pope, Fox, Morro, Harriott, Jackson, KAG, Munns (maybe)

Put it on the come in no4 your time is up thread, but why don't we just see what we're like without JJ from the start? I don't think our team would collapse through lack of leadership, TBH would be a good replacement captain. That midfield 4 means Cousins gets to play where he prefers. That centre mid out on the wing play really does bother me now. We saw Powell bang that drum and it didn't work. I'm positive we'll get more out of Buyens with Cousins next to him. You might question the front 2, but if Vetokele is out then it's prob the best we've got. KAG might not be ready for another start. Massive emphasis on Bulot and JBG to step up, I think they can.

I'm gonna say we give a response and win 2-0
  • every season the whole 'stick a cb up top' madness surfaces, why god damn it? They have played their whole careers at CB for a reason!
  • Hendo
    Wilson TBH Bikey Fox
    JBG Cousins Buyens Bulot
    Moussa
    Tucadean

    2-1 win, just.

    Moussa

    2-1 win, just.

Turn that into a 4-2-3-1 when in attack and I think your right.. plenty of pace to hit on the break!
  • Hendo up front and Tuccers in goal.
  • All three results look possible. That's the most I will commit to.
  • First goal will be the key. 1 - 0 to whoever gets it.

Yep you got that team spot on! That's the side I would have too
  • Anyone remember the last centre half to start up front for us? Although we didn't lose the game, the experiment wasn't a success as I recall.......

The only thing I'll predict about tonight is that it won't be a comfortable nor particularly enjoyable evening. Even when we've won this season, it's been by the skin of our pants. Still really looking forward to it though......

  • I'd like to see us really go for it with this line-up, but it won't happen:

    Henderson

    Wilson TBH Bikey Wiggins

    Cousins Jackson

    Bulot JBG Harriott

    Tucudean
  • This one worried me, Bolton seem to have the new manager 'bounce' wheras our relatively small squad is now feeling the effects of an intense start top the season. I worry about our ability to score goals and we are not able to start with all of our preferred back 4. I am worried that Gudmonson will be rushed back too early and sustain another injury.

1-1 with goals from Tucudean and Dervite header from a set peice.
  • Bit of a shame the fixture list has been so unkind to us. We've got some fantastic results against the top sides which were hard fought, but when its come to the teams who we may well have rolled over at the beginning of the season, they seem to be picking up decent form. I was at Fulham's win against Norwich on Saturday, and while it was more a case of a poor Norwich display, Fulham looked very very solid at the back - which they certainly havnt earlier this season - can't see us scoring on a current play to be honest.

  • I can't see further than a vegetarian focaccia with salad or maybe a barbequed pulled pork bap with a light drizzle of organic chilli sauce.
  • 1-0 charlton
  • Oh yeah forgot they had Dervite. 0-1 (dervite) then. Come on, positive thoughts Madz. 3-1 :-)

Think my original of 0-0 is still the more likely.
  • The teams on here with JBG may be unlucky as I read somewhere that he is doubtful, I hope not, also Buyens saying he is tired, he has just had a 2 week break from football, other than training. Is it because he is still not up to the rigours of championship football yet. BP did say Bulot is doing twice as much intensive running now than he did with SL, it is possibly the same for Buyens, which if that is the case, we need to find other players and leave him out for a while (although how long it will take I don't know), enter Cousins in CM
  • Don't really understand why young players like Buyens should be tired after 10 games - Seth Plum is right to wonder if half of our players are properly fit for the Championship. Just can't see us being tough enough in midfield or quick enough in attack to win. Another lifeless 1-1 draw.
  • Bolton are near the bottom for a reason. It couldn't have just been Freedman. Ok they had a first away win at Birmingham on Saturday but the last time the Brummies won at home Trevor Francis was playing for them. I'm not sure that Bolton have enough to worry us at the back.

    2-0 win.
