Great atmosphere, great result. Well Done to all that travelled. I wasn't expectIng that. Great schenes with big Bob at the end. Well pleased I made it. Back it up with three points Saturday and we are really amongst it.
Well, having left Norwich at 4.45am this morning to go for a business team briefing in Reading then back to Norfolk, I was just too late (& knackered) to go. Great result. I will get the Norwich point of view tomorrow. No doubt they will say we were a*se hole lucky - but 10 games unbeaten is something else!
Well done to Jacko - still worth his place. Well done to the defence - I start to wonder if Gomez should get the gig full time.......
We need at least a couple more in on loan but we'll done to Big Bob - really have to give him great credit.
Great result, was out tonight so couldn't listen or watch the stream. Saw we were drawing coming up to half time and even more surprised to see us winning with a few minutes to go. Wasn't expecting anything from these last two, so am very happy to get 4 points and 2 clean sheets.
Also good see KAG made his debut and great to hear he did well in the few minutes he had. Would love to see us in the play-offs but am also enjoying seeing us give Gomez, KAG and hopefully a few more a chance. Wasn't that long ago we came down to this league under Pardew, bringing in so many players that our best youngsters at the time never got much of a chance. They could be playing a big part in an even better team in a year or two.

Bing - quick answer re Joe Gomez is no, or at least not yet. He is a great talent but Solly still streets ahead at this time. Joe needs to improve in his overlapping and crossing. Strong defensively though.
First time watching Charlton this season. Seen Norwich destroy a couple of teams this season. Couldn't recognise Charlton from the end of last season. Two central defenders immense and when they were beaten Henderson was on hand to make a couple of good saves. Jordan Cousins has grown a couple of inches during the close season and looks the assured, confident player we all thought he would be. Yoni Buyens was my man of the match. Always looking to be the outlet and an astute passer of the ball. Great team performance. Bobs game plan worked. Make no mistake - this was a hard fort and well deserved win. Time for us doubters to think again. Not a team to finish in the top two ( I think Norwich will finish top) but we will not be far off.
‘You don’t see him picking on Andre Bikey,’ said Peeters afterwards, referring to his defender who is built like a rugby prop-forward, ‘they pick on the little one.’
Also well done Fanny and all of those who went... some of us who have been home and away regulars in the past have upmost respect for your ongoing commitment, I would have been there if I could (Brighton to Norwich and back just too hard to get away with!)
I rest safe in the knowledge you genuinely loyal fans will always be there for JJ and the boys.
Wow, what a game and what a three points. I don't think many of us even saw a point coming out of this game, let alone us getting our first away victory of the season. It's a testament to the lads (and to Big Bobby himself) that despite having to defend quite deeply, they never
I must say though, the game for me was marred with some negativity. I was preparing to post a bit of a rant about how we need to start winning games, albeit Norwich is out of the question to win realistically, but if we can draw against them (and beat Derby and Watford at home) then we should be getting points against teams like Rotherham and Huddersfield.. however, that argument has gone out on it's head!
To win at Norwich is very impressive, and my arguments against playing Vetokele up top alone are perhaps now irrelevant. I find it frustrating to watch him being beaten in the air by his CB and unable to get any other service because he's constantly marked tightly. I get the impression he was frustrated too, hence the Yellow..
I know we've managed two clean sheets with a midfield of 5, and the problem of our midfield getting overrun has improved, but we're not giving Igor any service and we're potentially giving the opposition defence an easy job. I can understand these tactics against Norwich, and perhaps even Middlesborough, but it still doesn't make it enjoyable to see!
That said, there was no negativity in the subs - Gomez for Moussa is a perfect example. Even in the 89th minute we fielded another Striker into the fray.. Big Bob got the team set up very well today. It was interesting to see pressure being piled on towards the end of the game again!
The defence were utterly superb. There was some absolutely brilliant defending tonight - and once again I get the impression that we've got a defensive set up that is going to prevent most teams from having any luck against us. A special mention for Gomez - very confident and assured, and he played a vital part in a strong defence tonight; he's very confident for such a new player to the squad.
On the subject of Gomez though, I wasn't too impressed when he spoke to Henderson before going down on the floor to get treatment.. Did he really require treatment? If so, what on earth was the referee doing refusing that? If he didn't need treatment, why go down? That's not what I want to see, not a promising and talented young player cynically going to that length to waste time.
Negativity aside, and please don't dwell on the negativity in this post, lets not kid ourselves - they were very good opposition (potentially the hardest we'll face, along with Notts) and we did a classic away smash-and-grab on them today. The lads should be proud of themselves.
"Sad when our forum's football intelligentsia can't seem to get their heads around the fact that we were plain ***. Formations and tactics get quoted in order to make excuses for a shoddy Tuesday night defeat against a smaller club that was recently competing in League 1. We're not nearly as good as some of the stream-watching self-professed soccer boffins would have us believe."
There's nothing inaccurate about what the bitter Norwich fan says, though I wonder about him using the word 'intelligentsia'. It has six syllables - which is way beyond Lincolnshire, let alone Norfolk.
Any Norwich fans moaning about smash and grab should remember what they did to us when they won promotion from league one at the valley! What goes around eventually comes around
"A smaller club that was recently competing in League 1" is just how I would describe Norwich.
On average Norwich get 10k more fans at home than charlton and was very recently competing in the premier league so most would agree Charlton are a smaller club than Norwich.

If that's that case then what are you lot to us? Microscopic?
It was interesting that a minute before Jacko scored Norwich made two substitutions - both attacking players. So they would have weakened themselves somewhere at the back. I thought at the time that could be a mistake and so it proved.

Difference is we don't pretend to be a big club, and we don't care if people think we are or not. As the old saying goes, Millwall FC, biggest small club out there. Yeah, we get 10k at home, but people are a lot more interested in little old Millwall than they ever will be in Charlton.
Anyway, don't want to hijack this thread and turn it into another Millwall one. Enjoy your moment, 10 games unbeaten is pretty impressive, although strange that the run hasn't even got you in a play off spot. There'll be plenty of twists and turns in this season yet, it's still early days. Can only see us struggling though to be honest, but hey ho, win or lose and all that.
aboslutely stunning, watching the play by play at school and nearly went crazy in the middle of the hallway. The back 4 played incredible and im so happy for jacko to finally get on the board. A win saturday guarentees us a place in the top 6 six going into the break. #COYA
Just remembered my highlight of the night other than the goal... the home fans started up a chant of 'you're not fit to referee' after another contentious decision. Cue the referee staring up at them shaking his head in disagreement! I bet you won't see that again this season!

Five games in and you lot were looking good...then you had to play someone outside of Blackpool, Fulham and Leeds with their Non league manager. Looking forward to taking 4/6 points off you lot this season - we are class and we are still a work in progress with many of the first team only played 10 games for CAFC...come January they will have 25 games under their belt and we should have another couple of players... Perhaps not too long before our gates climb again

Norwich fans are a strange bunch.
Great night, great atmo.
COME IN NUMBER FOUR...........and put your feet up fella.
Love Jacko to bits.
