Glad to see they are consulting fans via the Fans Forum.
Of course the quality v price question remains as do the inherent issues with the size and locations of the outlets, the demographic, people habits and the other options available.
Outsourcing has a lot of advantages but also potential risks when you give up an element of control.
Its also a key shift away from the policy as explained by Ben Kensell priviously but that doesn't make it a bad thing
They also consulted over 900 fans via a jointly authored Matchday experience survey with CAS Trust, which we are still hoping to publish
I expect most fans are concerned about the queuing and pricing, along with quality. I was shocked to understand some benchmarking was done against the o2 - I certainly hope it isn't comparable, as anyone who's been there recently will probably agree.
Not everyone of course is signed up to one of the supporters clubs or similar, but the Trust also attends the Forum so feel free to send us your concerns if you wish, or indeed any other reps on the Fans Forum who I am sure would be glad to take it up for you.

Hospitality staff are pretty much good people I agree with that but the kiosk staff are not the sharpest tools in the box
Agree. But what do you expect for £7 an hour?
With the greatest of respect to them, (and I really don't mean this in a condescending way at all) but these people have that kind of job for a reason. Most of them do an honest job to the best of their ability, I think we should all be a bit more patient and understanding of this.

Apart from the low wages which ought to be £10 an hour, ok if you're going to pay low wages have more staff then, and pay somebody extra to manage them well. I don't know how marginal the cost decisions have to be, but if a person on counter staff takes £350 in 90 minutes, then £15 pay for that seems OKish and might ensure better work.
hardly, they only tweeted they were going to make an announcement 10 mins before they did it, just some one posted on here saying it was a "big announcement" and was the one creating the hype.

What a strange comment, it's the system that is the problem.. Not the people using it.
How comes people working on normal bars on the same money seem to do ok ?
Why can't we take "alcoholic beverages" to our seats, like they do in the States? And when will we start serving Tim Taylor's Landlord on handpump?
Landlord has changed VF,just not the same anymore.
As for beverages,I particularly hate it when there's a 'selection' of them and they're - get this - 'hot' and 'cold'.Cue stampede for the buffet trolley...

I would think they are employed for at least three hours - probably four - and clearly there are other costs of sale than wages, including capital costs and VAT.
Along comes a BIG announcement that shows the Club HAS been listening & yet it gets a lukewarm response...there really is no pleasing some folk.
No offence FF, but who the supplier of the half time burger is is not something most fans would class as a BIG announcement.
Not suggesting that the change of supplier is important news but the fact that the supplier IS changing should be.
My understanding is that the previous supplier was contracted for at least another year & hence changing this would be difficult/expensive ( not totally sure about this so please don't quote me) although the powers that be were very keen to "upgrade"
The fact that a change is being made , to a reputable supplier ( if it's good enough for the Gooners, then....!) suggests to me that the Club has listened to the fans and is probably spending good money on improving the merchandise.
I know it's not mega news but surely anything that benefits the "Charlton experience" has to be good ?

As much as I agree with that Seth, that's not the way the world works. It's all about the bottom line.

The people I know that work in normal bars earn more than £7 an hour.

Also Shine, my comment comes from experience (I own 33% stake in a small chain of restaurants). I've seen it first hand why certain people are only able to get certain types of employment.
Great unlike CAFC who took matchday satff on at 16 this lot dont so not happy need the youngest working so ;ooks like she will be off to West Ham or Chelsea with her sister

I'm not questioning your knowledge on the subject, just your wording sounded a tad harsh.

Apologies in that case, it wasn't meant to. It wasn't supposed to be disrespectful either (I'm really not like that). I was just emphasising that these people are often given a hard time when they are doing their very best (I've seen people get a bit moody with them in the lower north).

I wouldn't bury the Landlord just yet, Redskin - I had several delicious pints of the stuff at the Jolly Woodman in Beckenham recently.
Agree with you about the 'selection of hot and cold beverages' - It conjures up the image of a woman going to seed in brown velour pants, pushing a 'hostess trolley'. It makes me smile that invariably expensive 'hospitality packages' - a meal, a good seat, a 'matchday programme' - also include "tea or coffee". Wow. The teabag clinches it.

Don't forget that it's done solely for profit and we, the fans, pay for it.

Correct - as in we are not a charity, public sector, or a social enterprise.
I will be quite happy to pay a little bit more if it means i don't have to drink a lager ( fosters ) that tastes like tepid water or if i can eat something that doesn't make me want to vomit . I still don't believe any kind of training can teach the staff in the kiosks in north stand to be polite or give the correct change but i'm willing to suspend belief and give them another go.
I thinks its a great thing the RD it trying to bring the club into the 21st century - long may it continue.
I thought Catering oops were in house prior to this?
Makes sense to shift to DNC, massive company who will spend the cash required to make things work. Better food, suspect they'll use things like fast pour machines for booze. And more importantly the very very average offering in the suites both on match days and during the rest of the week will improve

The word "cynical" isn't in my dictionary, VF....
Maybe you should preach to those who DO buy the merchandise.

However, I would say it's reasonable big if it's multi-million pound income.

As I stated earlier, it doesn't apply to me.
