Thought Nego had a good game, turned their players quite a few times & quick out of defence - passing may have been a bit iffy at times, but so was Munns's & Morrisons'. Some of you on here are too quick to dig at someone & then are afraid to back down....
Ansah, Munns & Nego all looked out their depth I'm afraid to say. None could pass a simple ball. Poor effort all round against a weakened SL, but big Bob will learn something from it I'm sure.
Can't read anything into that. They are obviously ahead of us in fitness terms. Some observations.....No-one looked comfortable on that pitch. Church and Ansah were completely anonymous. Nego at least tried to get involved but his final ball was poor. Buyens ok, Moussa nice flashes, Others all 5/10.
and Morrison didn't make a mistake for the second goal then I suppose. I must remember to get a pair of those minion glasses they wear in Despicable Me.
Bit concerned with Pope. Second goal seemed to go straight through him. Nego was ok, there were some stray passes but made some good runs. Moussa looks like he could offer some creative spark. Very rusty so hard to tell exactly where we are as a team, give it a few games.
Nego did ok. He looked dangerous at times. You can't expect players to be 100% accurate in the first friendly of the season. Why is it that some Charlton fans are desperate to look for players to make mistakes so they can jump on their back. It really pisses me off.
Pretty poor with lots of excuses and reasons why to be trotted out I reckon.
In my view our best players in a very very meh display were Fox, Pope and Munns. Loic didn't see to have any end product after flashes of allrightness, Cywka was trying on the side with Nego and got chopped a lot. Buyens was overshadowed by Munns in midfield (see what I did there?), and Moussa was sporadic. Church and especially Ansah were more or less non existent, Morro deceived by the artificial pitch bounce for the second, and Lennon was errrm a big unit. Harriott was a bit of a pointless substitute.
Standard de Liege seemed to be better everywhere on the pitch, comfortable in possession and never troubled...a training exercise for them which justified their training tops.
Our fans were audible.
The only positive is that we are sort of off and running, but I am going to revise my automatic promotion thoughts. We seemed a bit slow and ponderous, and I was left thinking if we are going to be pretty crap, can't we at least be quick crap.

C'mon Golfie, that's a strange comment even by your standards! Who mentioned Morrison?
Anyway. The team as a whole were pretty rubbish. But can't read much into for the obvious reasons.
Anyone looking to judge how we'll do in the league this season based on that 45 minutes is being unfair. However, you have to look at the trajectory we're on. Some of us will say everything's going according to an infallible master plan. I'm sceptical and doubt we'll be competitive, but certainly not just because of that 45 minutes. I don't think we have enough right now for the Championship, but as the saying goes, "I hope I'm proved wrong."
Simon church continuing his brilliant form from last season
surely bp will get the church truth after this tournee? then, on loan to orient/gillingham/swindon...and quietly released after this season...
Try supporting him this season instead of slagging him off all the time then you might see a better player.
Church improves from fucking awful, to merely poor... if we're lucky. I don't think people will be slagging him off next season - cos he won't be playing. I hope...

But a 3G pitch is NOT a level playing field, Lookie

Never mind- had fun trying to identify most of our players.
Thought Munnsy looked good & Mr F echoed an earlier post regarding a replacement for DP ....
Looking forward to tomorrow's showing.
When they get back from the Spain trip I'll take a bit more notice.

(We KCCC supporters have to stick together!)
