  • Think the majority of our incoming players will be relatively unknown to us.
  • Spot on SHG. The problem with picking of FFP abusers' players is that they're likely on stupid money

Yep, and probably currently Belgian based. Lets hope they are better than the majority of what has been brought in the last few months.
  • has any one thought about Steve Morison who's loan from our neighbours is going back to Leeds,i think his contract runs out soon
  • There might be one or two decent ones available at Palace. Looks likely they will add a few to their squad next season which will see a few being shipped out. Jon Williams would be nice....
  • Here's a list of out of contract players as at end of season...

  • Chris Solly?
  • Jos Hooiveld

Interestingly in trying to find out who Hooifeld was, i stumbled upon a website call www.transfermarkt.co.uk which listed Hooifeld at 2 million - a bit more methinks than Roland will spend !
Harriott is valued at 275k !

I'd like to think Southampton would just want rid and we could pick him up for a few hundred thousand instead.
  • Bring Darren Bent back - he's not getting much football

Not a dig but we won't be signing expensive on the way down premiership players.

  • Kevin Phillips as strikers coach

I'd love to see one Scott Parker back at The Valley. He would be magnificent.

    Legs are gone

  • Something fans might find of interest: transfermarkt values Liege squad at 52m which puts them on a par with Hull and Palace.

And our squad is at 14m.

    Alcorcon: 9.1m
    Ujpest: 6.5m
    Sint-Truiden: 5.7m
    CZ Jena: 1.9m

And clubs at the top of the Championship who don't spend a fortune on wages:
    Derby 28M
    Burnley 22M

Which I think is generally a good thing. The odd one might be useful (as Fuller was), but Parker will be a different player without the fitness he had. Bent also seems to have lost something in the last year or two from what I've seen about his performances.

Look at QPR. A squad full of former Prem players past their best. Doesn't make the best team. We also improved when we brought in young energetic midfielders (Harriott last season and Cousins and Poyet this season).
  • And Bolton. Their first team on paper is excellent and they had all the determination of. raspberry jelly when we played them.
  • If ever there was an excuse for not signing experienced seasoned premiership players it's Fulham.

    Shocking!

  • Morrison had a great first spell at Millwall where he scored 35 goals in 83 appearances which is a goal every 2.4 games. Since then he has consistently been a 1 goal in five games which is decent but hardly prolific.

I hope we can find better. As an aside I thought Keogh for Blackpool yesterday was woeful.
  • Think the majority of our incoming players will be relatively unknown to us. </blockquote

I think this is what makes this window different to the others. I suspect many of the arrivals we will have never heard of.

One possibility could be Albercon's Dani Pacheco formerly of Liverpool.

  • 1 or 2 who can put the ball in the net on a regular basis. 41 goals in 46 games like this season will have us struggling again next season if we don't do something about it.

I wouldn't mind two or three Scott Parkers.
  • Firstly I know nothing but I keep reading these lists of very British players and can't help thinking that lots of you will be very disappointed.

Think "the network" will feature in our signings but the mistakes made by RD in underestimating the standard required will not be repeated. I'm sure value and potential will feature strongly but I'm hoping that a few proven top quality players are also added.

I doubt that those advising over acquisitions even know who Sam Baldock is.

Think they'll be some stiff competition for some of those names! You never, know, though (until you actually do know, of course!)
  • Since Yann left we have had nobody hold the ball up top for us. This is essential in this very physical championship. We must address this in the summer. Will probably come from Belgium but that Lukas Jutkiewicz is a good shout. We were being linked with Pope at Port Vale a year ago, so depends on influence Chapple has at the club these days.
  • First and Foremost - Ben Hamer, Michael Morrison, Dorian Dervite & Diego Poyet.

    1 Centre Back
    Liam Fontaine (Bristol City)

    2 Centre Mids
    Astrit Ajdarevic & 1 other.

    3 Wide-Midfielders/Wingers
Tommy Rowe (Peterborough)? & 2 more

    2 Forwards
    ...
  • Riga

Are we on for a pre-season tour of Latvia?
