  • cant see Blackpool staying up unless they beat us. They only have that and 2 tough away games. Just hope teams in play off places don't turn off once their place is secured.
  • I think it's going to be Barnsley, Donny and Yeovil for the chop now. We need three points now I reckon.

    I think you could be spot on,but does this now mean we want smallwall to do us a favour and beat Donny?

  • What odds that those 3 points will have to come at Blackpool?

    I think it does :0(

  • I hope Wigan on the 26th haven't clinched their playoff spot otherwise they may ease up against Blackpool. Apart from that I can't see Blackpool getting anything out of their next two games. I watched them on TV yesterday against Burnley and they looked awful

    Hard to see Barnsley getting any more than 3points so providing we don't screw our goal difference that's them down, just need to match Blackpool to stay up

    We don't want Doncaster to wi any games as well

  • Blackburn and Watford at home are crucial for us. Both mid table teams with nothing to play for.

    At the moment, both aren't out of the playoff race yet, Watford have discovered some form as well...
  • Blackburn are only 4 points off the play offs. Watford a point behind with the game against us in hand.

    If Brighton beat Blackpool and Blackburn fail to win at Birmingham then given their respective goal differences effectively their season will be over. Watford play QPR away and host Derby before playing us.

    Personally no
    Millwall still got to play QPR and Bournemouth so no if they lose to Donny they are still in big trouble

    Very true. The permutations are amazing. For example on Monday Brum v Blackburn. What result would be best for us? Does my head in.
  • Blackpool won't get anything before they play you now and we're bound to lose against you guys (either because our season is over or we just mess up when in a chance of 6th)

    With Brentford coming up be nice to have at least 3 London trips (that's if QPR don't win play-offs)

    We have QPR and Derby away before we face you and probably need to win both to stay in touch so reckon our season will be done before the 29th.

    Ironically it could be your 2 dropped points at the Toolbox ,which would have made a difference.

  • Ok, just done my 'saddo' projection for the run in and reckon this is how it will pan out up to (but excluding our Blackpool result);

    Barnsley 39 now + win over Boro, loss to Derby and draw with QPR - total 43 points = RELEGATED
    Yeovil 37 now + win over Hudds and Boro with loss to Brighton - total 43 points
    Millwall = RELEGATED

    So for the rest trying to avoid the final relegation spot;

    Millwall 43 now + win over Donny and draws against QPR and Bournemouth - total points 48 = SAFE
    Huddersfield 47 now but losses in all 3 of their games at Yeovil, Leicester and Watford - total 47 points = SAFE
    Birmingham 43 now + draws versus Blackburn and Leeds with win over Bolton - total 46 points = SAFE
    Doncaster 43 now + win over Reading but losses to Millwall and Leicester - total 46 points = SAFE

    Why are they probably safe? Well because I calculate that it's between us and Blackpool AND that it will all depend on us avoiding defeat there. Here's my predictions for both teams' results leading up to our final match up;

    Charlton 42 now + draws against Blackburn and Watford after defeat at Sheff Weds - total 44 points (before the Blackpool game)
    Blackpool 42 now + defeats at Brighton and Wigan - total 42 points.

    That leaves them 2 points behind us with no-one else that they can catch. Accordingly, avoid defeat at Bloomfield Road and we stay up whilst sending them down.

    Better reserve your match and train tickets now for what would be an immense encounter.
  • Ps ignore my typo re 'Millwall = relegated' - meant to say 'Yeovil relegated' of course

    I said before the Bolton game we needed 6 points from the 4 games before Blackpool.Hopefully we can get something against the massives . I think Reading will beat Donny as well . If they lost all their games then maybe both Blackpool and us could play out a draw on the final day.

  • Richard - I don't hold out much hope against the Massives who are the 2nd highest home goalscorers in our league and are on fire at the moment. I'm hoping we minimise any loss as the goal difference could well be crucial to our survival with all teams hovering at similar levels.

    Just two of about 16 points we've dropped in the final 5 minutes of games!

    Losing 5 in a row at home during Zola's last days and not winning on the road in 6 months haven't helped.

  • Sounds like we need to pack the away end at Blackpool.

    That wasn't 2 points dropped by Watford as even getting a point was grand larceny

    darn right keep the faith.
  • QPR are as fragile as glass right now so can see Millwall easing past them . . . . . . and also Donny. We shall see.
  • We just need a win from somewhere, anywhere.
  • 3 points guaranteed when we play Barnsley - oh wait .................GULP!
  • Three points before Blackpool are needed.
  • Can't see it

    I'm sure Blackpool will looking at the game v Charlton on the last day as their get out of jail card.

    Tbh I can see us only picking up 2 points max before then. I'm relying on others screwing up rather than us digging ourselves out if trouble. Our lack of goals will do for us I reckon.
