Listening to commentary was agony after the Yeovil 2nd. Dervite, Poyet, Jackson all sounded good on the commentary. We will be safe after the Watford game, then party at Blackpool.
We are staying up! Outplayed in the first half, with aimless long balls and little threat going forward, the guys must have got a rocket at half time as they came out a different side in the second half. Sordell's best game in a Charlton shirt, great goal from AA, some good moments from Reza (whilst still looking a bit lightweight), Jacko and Cousins put in a shift in midfield and a positive late cameo from young Callum. Felt like proper Charlton when Yeovil pulled a goal back, with heroic defensive blocks and menace on the counter attack. Blackpool, Birmingham and Doncaster are firmly within reach now. Well done Jose and the boys, a good performance, especially with Wilson missing.
Great, great win - especially with the Scum winning at Wigan.
Like I said on here after the win at Leeds there are going to be plenty more twists and turns in this and nobody is dead until they are dead.
When Barnsley won 4-1 at Yeovil they probably thought they were on the way up, they then take 1 point from 2 home games and its doom and gloom for them again.
As others have said we have now dragged Blackpool, Brum and Doncaster right into the shite and you have got to fancy Blackpool to carry on dropping like a stone.
Away at Brighton will be tough but the rest of the games are all very, very winnable and we might end up safe before the last game.
Bottom line is that even if we only get two points from our two games in hand then we go above Blackpool and Doncaster.
C u next tuesday guys... Forget saturdays :-) Huge win, Leeds, Bpool and Birmingham look in trouble. !
Leeds?
Check their recent results (last 9 or so), apart from beating Millwall they've lost practically every one! Still a few games left this season! Gonna be an interesting end to the season that's for sure, thank fk we didn't concede a late one!!!
What a relief. We missed Wilson badly. Sordell was pretty pony overall but ended up grabbing the decisive goal so he deserves a pat on the back and a big well done.
Waiting for someone to arrive and slaughter Riga for going five at the back.

Leeds?
Why not? Level on points with them IF we win the games in hand
That's a big IF: season form dictates 2 points, or 3 on current form. Besides, both Huddersfield and Doncaster are below them. Both Huddersfield and Leeds are just 4 and 3 points away from 99% certain safety. This relegation battle is just from Birmingham down I reckon.
Well... that was bleedin' tense listening to it on the radio, must've been torture inside the ground.
Have faith in this squad though - it still very much has Chris Powell's stamp on it - that means it's a bit lopsided in favour of defence, but it also means it has plenty of heart and plays for the shirt. For the last 2.75 seasons we've always pulled out results when we really need them. Not always pretty, not always easy and often only by the skin of our teeth, but the job usually gets done one way or another. Tonight was another of those nights and it seems Jose Riga is doing a grand job of maintaining the fight and spirit in the camp, much credit is deserved for that.
Pity that Millwall won and unexpected 3 points at Wigan, but as other have said, all the way up to Leeds looks potentially catchable.
3 more wins will do it though, particularly if one of them is vs Barnsley. All in our own hands, all within our capabilities and I believe, as I have all season, that the job will get done.
Lol very good guys. I've just got back from a NY Yankees game. It says at the top that we won 3-2? This can't be right as it means we've scored 3 goals! Anyone care to tell me the actual score?

More to the point Leeds are in absolute meltdown - when you're on the type of run they are on (similar to ours in 08/09) then it is hard to see where your next point is coming from.
However, with 47 in the bag they are probably safe with a couple of draws.

Leeds have an E# of 2 and two thirds. That means they need to get 2 wins and 2 draws to be sure of safety. However, if Millwall or others drop points, they'll need less, obviously.
It's so much harder not being there than being there , for me at least , that was evil sitting and waiting reading match thread and sky sports news and text messages coming through I put my managerial reputation on the line before the game but I was confident there were goals in that line up but not so confident in the defensive changes
Such a massive massive win
Just see the scums goal at Wigan , a pure jammy spawny deflected goal , sick sick sick , still the cup is more important than the league posse won't moan about wigans team changes aaaaaaaah
And as someone who didn't think we'd catch any of the teams above , well I'll hopefully be proved wrong by at the worst this time next week !
68% Championship Football in SE7 next season 32% League One hell returns
I'd be surprised if McDermott isn't sacked tomorrow, that Cellino isn't going to waste time. Leeds will get one more win from somewhere and 50 points will be enough.
Said all along Blackpool will go down. Looking at the run in, Doncaster will be worried as well.
Reza had a McOxo moment when he totally bottled a challenge in midfield. Booo
Yeah, that was a shocker!
Agreed.
I personally thought Sordell had a really good game, looked dangerous when we got the ball into his feet and actually tried to put himself (to varying affect) about a bit.
Priceless three points. On a patched-up pitch this makeshift team survived what turned into a Cup-tie in the last half hour to take a massive stride toward safety and what will be, needs to be, a complete overhaul of the club over the summer. There is new life in this team where some had predicted only riga mortis - considering what he took on when he arrived, JR has done a fabulous job - not yet complete, it's true, but well on the way.
And for those who are understandably dubious about bothering to attend these days, do yourselves a favour and get down to The Valley while there is still a chance to see Diego Poyet in our colours. Without doubt he is the finest talent we have produced since Lee Bowyer. He doesn't draw the fouls that Bowyer did but that's because he parts with the ball so quickly (and usually productively). I truly hope he stays but it must be doubtful unless he is loaned back to us. A real superstar in the making.
No need to dwell on the negatives this evening (two joke goals conceded) because the team came through a challenging match victorious and that alone will do.
Defence looked all at sea at times. Understandable given the shift of Morro to right back. Surely a clear sign that Nego has no future with us.
Great first goal. How lovely to see one of our midfielders collect the ball deep and drive on to shoot.
Yeovil looked tidy but edgy at the back. They got back into it with a bizarre goal...another deflection.
They were on top until the final ten mins of the half when we seemed to perk up and created several decent chances.
Second half saw us press them higher and with Reza dropping deeper we got some space. Another assist from JJ and great header from Dervite.
Then I saw something that confirmed to me what a fantastic footballer we have in Diego Poyet. Aside from his simple passing, crunching tackles and astute positioning, the touch and awareness to send Reza down the right with a perfectly weighted ball over his head oozed class. He really is some player.
Sordell, whose first half performance was woeful, tapped in.
Surely home and hosed? Not a chance.
We spent the next twenty minutes looking fairly calm and in control. Then a catalogue of errors, starting with the ref giving a throw to them that was blatantly ours. Dervite a poor header, Hamer in no mans land and an easy finish.
Still, a great win and another successful Tuesday night.
One final point...with all the acclaim that Poyet is getting lets not forget the work that Jordan Cousins does. Centre mid, holding mid, attacking mid and right mid. He goes about his job in a very calm, assured and unfussy manner

That's the most tense game I've seen for a long long time. It was heart attack time every time yeovil came forward. Just for once we came up against an opposing keeper at the Valley who was NOT in the form of his life!
Young Poyet was MOM by a country mile. An almost flawless performance given the context of the match. He was here there and everywhere with crucial tackles and pin point passes all night long.
Super strike by AA even though I felt their keeper should have done better with it. Dunn was done, and not for the first time.
Free header for Devote from a corner, then fantastic work down the right from Reza to set up Sordell. Well done Dunn for watching that one go in!
As for the defence - two shocking mix ups for both their goals. Morro needs to be CB - he looked lost at RB. We really missed Wilson and I'm praying his injury is not going to make him miss any more games. Great to see Cort back though. Any chance of CS following suit?
Impressed with AA and Cousins, but all in all the difference between the two sides was Gus junior. That kid is an absolute gem! Emotionally drained at the final whistle! What a great six points - COYR!!!! Only downside of the evening: how the f*ck did the unwashed manage to win at Wigan?

Harriott nearly made the game safe when he cut inside onto his left foot but his shit was smothered by Dunn.
Messy!
39 games with 41 points
Instead of which we're only 2 points clear and two games in hand on the Mowow.
I'll take it!
Reza looked class when he gained that bit of confidence after setting marv up for the 3rd. Wanted to take every free kick and throw in
