  • More upset he was the only one that didn't walk over at the end.

Perhaps he was frightened that if he did his swing on the crossbar somebody would find a rope ?

Today I blame the players. Every single one bottled it.

I don't think Jackson bottled it at all ?
I'm sorry, I know a great many fans are in love with him but Jackson was anonymous. Quick free kick aside, this was the man who captained the team and like Powell, is meant to get them up for the game. He's been giving all the talk about being the last of generation to grow up watching the cup, his last chance to play at Wembley. He's slow. His goals like the winner against QPR are too few and far between these days. Playing him leads to a very unbalanced midfield, players playing out of position to accommodate him. He did bottle it today and he's another tired peg in Powell's overly cautious tactics book.
There was far worse players on that pitch today then Jackson ..
If I break it down to individual players, he was one of the poorest. Wiggins was poor, wood was poor, as was cousins and church. The fact that Jackson was captain and talked up the importance of the FA cup then delivered that performance, puts him right up there. I'm fed up of our team accommodating him if he doesn't score goals or deliver on a set piece. The goal against QPR and the assist up at Wednesday are not frequent enough.
I have lost all respect for any of your comments

    You negativity bores me

I would have loved to have seen your comments after the qpr game
My comments after the QPR game were that hats off to him he took his chance, and IF he keeps repeating such performances there is a place in the team for him. However, the midfield continues to be messed about with to accommodate him, and we are not seeing the set pieces or the goals that we saw over the past two seasons. For me, that is the only reason we need him in the team. To be fair, he followed that up with a good free kick for the assist to Simon Church's winner at Sheff Wed, but I just don't think he warrants a place in the starting XI. I've watched him get progressively slower as the season's gone on, trying to assume a sort of Frank Lampardesque role in our team. We cannot play him on the odd chance he'll get a goal or a set piece as he's clearly not doing that enough any more. I think Morrison can do equally as good a job at captaining and leading the team, talking to the younger players (I actually think the younger players are having to do too much running because of him).

I know he is a fan favourite and he has the masses that couldn't speak more highly of him. I don't, and I actually think we suffer when he starts a game. I will always continue to state this, regardless of how negative people perceive it to be as I don't think he's fit enough any more.
  • Jackson should be played in tandem with Astrid in the centre of midfield. Don't think he should start most games. Only in the centre as part of a 3 midfield or as left half in tandem with Harriots. Great player but legs have gone and you need his footballing skills, brain, dead ball delivery and timely goals. You can’t be asking him to be running around / chasing back in a 442. You got to use the strengths that he has. Get the younger players to do all the running around.
