Before you all start your "Powell out" realise this ..

Powell has taken us to the FA cup 1/4 final .. We have had a cup run , we all enjoyed it didn't we?

Yes we was terrible today , I understand that but before we all kick off let's understand that Powell did infact get us to a FA cup 1/4 final , in 3 years ... Curbs done it once over a decade

I agree he may have got things wrong today but it really is a tough place to go , now onto the league and pray we stay up , it's a win win situation if today we had won , yes we're at Wembley , lose ? Okay NOW we focus 100% on the league

Great support from the 5,000 that went up three aswell , did us addicksproud

  • We beat Oxford, Huddersfield and Sheff Weds....

    Still got there ?

Wednesday away is easy yes? And Huddersfield away ? Walk In the park ?

    No I think not

  • FA Cup, who gives a fuck! We're Charlton Athletic, and we're staying up!

Life's too short to be miserable everytime we lose, go out and enjoy the sunshine! Still, doesn't give back the time and money for the 5,500 who went up for today.
  • The cup has kept Powell in a job.

Now the cold hard fact is we are bottom of the championship. 4 games in hand yes, but after watching that, how many points do you think we'll pick up?
  • There's no one better for the job.

    Dont agree.

  • He is tactically inept. Always has been and always will be. Proved it yet again today. The 5,000 faithful have been short changed yet again

League 1 here we come under the clueless one.
  • Best team won on the day. Enjoyed the cup run. No threat up front. Sad, but no more fixture pile-up so full concentration on survival in the Championship.

Well done the travelling fans - you were heard throughout - great support.
  • We have to get a new manager in quick, look what Nigel Clough has achieved at Sheff Utd.

  • If Powell was to go and I don't think he will keep us up Warnock is available.

You may not agree but you never say who his replacement should be.

Who would you bring in now?
  • Didnt play well but Harriot was inches from giving us the lead & their second took an immense deflection which killed any hopes of a comeback before it even started. Very young, very inexperienced midfield today and it showed big time. Wood was woeful throughout as was Wiggins & Morro.

Finding it hard to see how this squad will keep us up, it is paper thin.

To be fair they was 2nd from bottom before he came in and they have not lost for 9 games

So what team and formation should he have picked?

Barry Ferguson - breath of fresh air for Blackpool after Ince. New manager - always does the trick.
  • thought wiggins was very poor...... at fault for first and looked slow throughout

  • I value your point but he picks the team, he trains them, he makes the tactics. So how is being bottom of the league and a display like today's... His fault!

If you're going to start naming new managers you all want go and make a new thread

this about getting behind Powell and realising what he has done that curbs done once this thread isn't for name dropping new managers
  • I'm not saying Powell out, but today was very very very poor

More upset he was the only one that didn't walk over at the end
  • Cousins is wasted out wide. Reza looks sharp. We need to bring in another good forward to play alongside him. Powell needs to stop being so cautious and start going for goals. That means upping the tempo and attacking.

Today I blame the players. Every single one bottled it.

I don't think Jackson bottled it at all ?

spot on. I'd go so far to say that if powell is sacked, he'll probably have a clough style impact at the next club he goes to. From the sounds of what he was like at derby, the two are quite similar.
  • I do
