  • let's hope for no replays so we are on the box.
  • love how we get all our info from the other teams twitter and offical sites..
  • Judging by the photo posted at 10 a.m., the pitch wouldn't have been playable if inspected a couple of hours earlier. That would've saved loads of people the time and expense of wasted journeys. Clattenburg fails.

    This......
  • wow. thx for info.

was looking forward to home game v barnsley...

but now i have option of 5th round game... hmmmm

What is it with every single club I've seen, including Charlton, having three blokes with pitchforks jabbing at the pitch. Never going to clear that amount of water! Water always wins.
    FFS .... Don't they have a dome .... Jeez ;0)
  • Proper tinpot.

Shame as I would have got to see it out here on a dodgy channel but at least it gives wiggins a few extra days and a certain striker to recover.
  • So Michael Vaughan, rain stopped play.

Do I rush back to replace the fence panels?
  • Wednesday in 'we've got half our team out injured, so let's do the minimum and hopefully the game is called off' shock.
  • Sitting in a service station in Derby, I think I will turn around and visit my brother in Northampton.
  • Gutted, on the way by train. Astonishingly there is still no formal announcement on the wednesday website. What are they waiting for?

  • Bit shit for your fans, happened too regular across the FL nowadays.
  • How far did the coaches get?

The logical thing to do would be to aim to play the game this forthcoming Tuesday, i.e. the 18th, or on the Wednesday.

In the "old days" that's exactly what would have happened, but nowadays the Police won't allow this, as I understand it, because there is insufficient time to get things organised.

Does this make sense or is it just another example of process, procedure and bureaucracy making life more difficult than it needs to be? Genuine question.

Edit: Just realised that Sheffield Wednesday are at home to Derby County on Tuesday which complicates matters. However, if the FA Cup takes priority why can't today's game be played that night instead? Not sure what the difference is between that and our game against Barnsley being postponed. Playing the FA Cup game earlier would also make it easier to organise a replay if necessary.
  • We wouldve done the same but I think your right
  • @EMTrains: #CAFC fans will be allowed to travel back to #London from #Sheffield earlier than booked.

If I was on route I reckon I'd head to preston to pay my respects to a legend

NLA looking for his next 1,000 likes...... ;-)

    Nice one for those affected.
  • We're approaching Doncaster. We have a hotel booked so have to make the most of if, a mate and I may finally have our Double Curry Night.
  • Well fed up
  • We all know Clattenberg is dishonest it was always gonna get called off with him. Onwards and upwards we will look forward to coming up here again.

  • Heard just before Derby and got off there, rail company good enough to honour tickets straight back. The boy is gutted though and I'm gutted for him. Not even Wings at home to soften the blow.
  • Sitting in the Leicester services properly pissed off. Are United due to play this weekend? Be a bit embarrassing for the massives if they can get their game on.
  • Fuck off Sheffield Wednesday. Had enough of wasting my time coming to this shit hole.

    Very good point.
I though all cup games took priority over league games...... at any level of football?
As Mundell states, would make the most sense!..... but when is football run for the benefit of the fans in today's world.
  • @bfc_official: Wednesday v Charlton is postponed which will mean our match against Charlton on the 25th will be postponed again until a later date

Think they play tomorrow and have the pitch covered.
  • "a bit shit on your fans " FFS nothing to do with your tin pot club having a huge injury crisis and not bothering to cover the pitch then ?

If it's obvious 4 hours before kick off that te game is unplayable then Tuesday's game has to be a serious doubt as well. Would rather it postponed to the 25th for definite than go through this last minute stuff on Tuesday again
  • Aaaaaaarrrrrgggghhhh!! Gutted, but especially for those who travelled.

I'd expect the wendies on here to go very quiet then. Can't for the life of me work out why you wouldn't have put a cover on with that forecast
