Judging by the photo posted at 10 a.m., the pitch wouldn't have been playable if inspected a couple of hours earlier. That would've saved loads of people the time and expense of wasted journeys. Clattenburg fails.
What is it with every single club I've seen, including Charlton, having three blokes with pitchforks jabbing at the pitch. Never going to clear that amount of water! Water always wins.
The logical thing to do would be to aim to play the game this forthcoming Tuesday, i.e. the 18th, or on the Wednesday.
In the "old days" that's exactly what would have happened, but nowadays the Police won't allow this, as I understand it, because there is insufficient time to get things organised.
Does this make sense or is it just another example of process, procedure and bureaucracy making life more difficult than it needs to be? Genuine question.
Edit: Just realised that Sheffield Wednesday are at home to Derby County on Tuesday which complicates matters. However, if the FA Cup takes priority why can't today's game be played that night instead? Not sure what the difference is between that and our game against Barnsley being postponed. Playing the FA Cup game earlier would also make it easier to organise a replay if necessary.
Heard just before Derby and got off there, rail company good enough to honour tickets straight back. The boy is gutted though and I'm gutted for him. Not even Wings at home to soften the blow.
Sitting in the Leicester services properly pissed off. Are United due to play this weekend? Be a bit embarrassing for the massives if they can get their game on.

Very good point. I though all cup games took priority over league games...... at any level of football? As Mundell states, would make the most sense!..... but when is football run for the benefit of the fans in today's world.

Think they play tomorrow and have the pitch covered.

If it's obvious 4 hours before kick off that te game is unplayable then Tuesday's game has to be a serious doubt as well. Would rather it postponed to the 25th for definite than go through this last minute stuff on Tuesday again

I'd expect the wendies on here to go very quiet then. Can't for the life of me work out why you wouldn't have put a cover on with that forecast

but now i have option of 5th round game... hmmmm
Shame as I would have got to see it out here on a dodgy channel but at least it gives wiggins a few extra days and a certain striker to recover.
Do I rush back to replace the fence panels?
