  • No hammer wouldnt have been able to hold onto the mud long enough to make a hut.

Bloke within earshot of me was joking about how our keeper could make a hut out of the mud.

Wasn't sure what to make of it in truth.

Sounds like a joke. Why do people have to look for a reason to be offended?
Seriously? I don't think PL54 was looking for a reason to be offended at all, he specifically said he didn't know what to make of it. Quite an absurd remark really.

I just don't understand why you'd even think that you need to take it in a certain way. Just seems like a joke to me - one with racial undertones maybe, but it's clearly a joke.
  • No, def US based. He's no longer on here for a multitude of reasons, not just what was seen on this thread or on the open forum in general. His leaving speech which didn't make public view assured us it was the right decision.

just to cheer us all up, would it be possible to see the leaving speech or at least the jest of it?
  • I made a last minute decision not to travel to match from Berkshire and followed match thread instead. Have to say, low marks and general dissatisfaction with his play did not tally with the continuity on Midland Red and Paddy's reports.
  • Dunno, maybe its me, but just think that maybe some people should have a re-read through this thread, and try to see what their priorities in life are. To me, someone being violent to someone else is where Police time and effort should really be spent - other than what someone calls someone else.
Whilst (believe it or not, seeing as how some people want to portray me), racism is not something i condone - i just believe , in whole scale of priorities, in this instance doesnt necessitate the Racism Stasi to re-emerge (again)- there are bigger and much worse things that are happening in life - as appears to have been experienced yesterday when blood was drawn.
Just seems that its a huge offence to call someone a name (yes, its not right), but to hit someone and draw blood is almost ok.
Just my opinion - i'm putting up the Stasi shields right now.

I don't really understand this. Are you saying there would be less attention if a home fan assaulted one of our players?
  • As fans I don't mind others voicing their opinon and being frustrated, but when it comes to abuse of any kind I just feel ashamed. I got angry at a group of lads at Wigan sang for a bit but then decided to call every player a useless C***.

Not sure why the fans didn't mention it to the stewards before hand or why they didn't pick it up if it was loud enough they should notice but then again they are static until someone complains. Did Danny Green actually physically point out the wrong man or was it the Stewards that made the mistake going on what Danny said to them? If the guys family and those people around him was protesting his innocence and saying who the real culpit was then we have a issue with our stewards and the way they go about their role.

  • when i left( in injury time) the OB were taking notes of alot of people at the turnstile entrance to the Covered End. I saw one of the guys involved in the Lib after and he said it was Danny green who had told the stewards and that the stewars had got the wrong guy. No idea if true but this gent was convinced enough to have given OB his name and address at the end.

maybe you're right, maybe the masses should turn a blind eye to any monkey chants, racist slander or racist comments at the valley? As long as nobody is physically hurt, why waste police time, sticks and stones and all that! besides by leaving the racists to it they will feel more liberated and free to express themselves, we need their custom after all. by God they may even bring their friends next time as they feel so welcome! what the hell, the worse that can happen is a few players might have their feelings hurt, a few spectators may feel offended, but as The organiser said they just look for offence anyway. And at the very worse we will have our stands filled with racists from all walks of life and sell loads of tickets to far right wing groups, why not go the whole hog and hire out our function room for their little 'meetings'? We may get really lucky and have the FA fine us or even close us down for becoming such a well known racist club, but all would be well because we got our priorites right and didn't bother the police or stewards with trivial matters...

(btw in case it wasn't clear I was being sarcastic!)

Are the two mutually exclusive then? Can the police not cope with one punch up and investigating some racist behaviour at the same game?
  • That's right. Racists need to know that there is no place for them at our club. They have a perfectly good club to support that may be more tolerant not too far away. Glad he put it on twitter - we need to know about this sort of thing if something is to be done about it. Clearly a very small minority, but they have to know they are not welcome.
  • Can anyone who witnessed the incident please contact the Club to get this resolved as quickly as possible. I have faith in the club but I think statements about what happened will help give clarity to the situation. Cheers.

I suppose Red and Seth only have so much time to type up what is happening on the pitch and the finer details probably get passed by. Trust me Evina lacked quality when it mattered. As for any alleged racist comments made to any player, these people can piss off back to the cave they came from.
  • It was Red and Paddy Stevie, I always go to home games, and next Saturday I intend to be at Hillsborough, so they will more than like hold the fort in their usual fashion.
    Apologies for off topic.

    A very grown up comment.

Saw a bloke making monkey gestures in the north lower.

I was talking to a mate about a Liverpool cup game when a fan did that gesture, I hope it's not me that you're referring too!

Can we please grow up and give the millwall comments a rest?

    Thanks, that sounds about right
  • Has Evina's recent Twitter comment been debated (prior to Sat's)?

Racism exists, yes it sucks and is terrible, yes the fan deserves to be banned, but going to Twitter to complain about it Evina? That's just dumb.

I guarantee the reason he deleted it was because the club told him to.

Looks like AmericanAddick had been flagged for abuse twice on this, and then banned - which is absolutely over the top if thats the case.

Don't worry I'm sure American Addick will be back pretending he's someone else - again!
  • We saw a ginger haired idiot yelling abuse towards Evina in the Upper North, and when someone said something to him he was threatening to tear his head off. A right nasty individual, but unfortunately all Clubs have them.

If its the same bloke he was shouting over the line stuff at Sordell as well.
