  • She did say on the train that she wanted to take the train as she didn't want to hide away from the fans.

This was going to be an accident waiting to happen. Since Roly and Meire came on board 12 months ago I have witnessed her on a couple of Northern away trips coming back on the train on her own. Sadly this was matter of time if things continued the way it was going. After the last 8 days, maybe it would have been better to keep incognito for a bit.

Does not make it right though.
  • Would like to see the 'men' have a pop at Bikey rather than KM, disgraceful

Hope the abuse wasn't too bad, but, getting the train home with CAFC fans after a 5 0 drubbing ? Obviously she dont get it

We don't even know if there was any abuse. The details are thin on the ground.
  • I sincerely hope the abuse was not personal, but in fairness what does a senior official at a club in such a mess, and after a 5-0 drubbing, expect? If this was another senior official on the train would people be uneasy they were having a fairly blunt discussion about the club? It should be no different just because she is female. But full credit to her for exposing herself to what was always going to be a tough return trip ... not many club bosses would do that

The video is now up on Facebook
  • My sons just shown me the video on Facebook, I think the bloke questioning Katrien was asking all the questions that have been asked on here in the last week.

My sons just shown me the video on Facebook, I think the bloke questioning Katrien was asking all the questions that have been asked on here in the last week.

If you're part of the Charlton Facebook group (and if not try anyway, as I'm not sure) you can view it here:

  • Katrien was sitting down with one or two men. There were a few guys around them with one or two shouting. One bloke said it was a disgrace that she earns so much money and went on to call them a bunch of Belgium c***s.

It had been going on for about five minutes before I went over to see what was going on. So I did miss out on some of the stuff said.

By the time I was over there Katrien looked angry, was raising her voice and looked like she had tears in her eyes.

She defended herself saying that she has not lied to us as people were suggesting. She said she quite easily could have taken the car home but she didn't want to hide away.

    Link?

  • Sorry I'm trying to figure it out , I think the poster above had it?

Oh dear! That doesn't sound good.
  • Didn't like how it came across as pretty aggressive (from the video anyway) - there's ways of getting these points across without being so intimidating.
  • I thought she came across quite well, the van driver asking the questions was South East londons answer to Jeremy Paxman.
  • My son has just shown me on facebook the 34 year old bald guy giving Katrien a hard time on the train.
he said he left at half time( Charlton till i die thou)
then go's and has another few pints.
Then says Paul Jewell would of been a better choice !

It was shocking today, but the real fans stay for 90 minutes.

yes i know that makes me a masochist

Shoddy camera work. Was making me dizzy watching it.

From that 5 minute clip the questions asked were not that unreasonable and fair play to KM for putting her point across.

Maybe another statement from her tomorrow or Monday may help to calm things down. Though that could be too late for some supporters
  • CEO of an under-performing, (reasonably) high profile company gets stick from customers after a week of media gaffes and worst performance in recent memory. If they could offer a reasonable way forward it would be brave to travel home with those fans. If your solution is to champion a guy with a questionable c.v..and issues with at least three of your 1st VI and poor English, then you should take a low profile. Brave no stupid yes. Male or female makes no odds..
  • Anyone got a link for the clip for those of us not in this Facebook group?
  • It was brave, maybe foolish to take the train back, as in the heat of the moment, after a pathetically bad display, people will say things that they might regret later.
That she is a young and personable female shouldn't be relevant though, she's a senior executive, and if she had been a 50 year old bloke, it would have been equally wrong or right...

If she had any sense she would walk.

And before any wise guy say it it's a long way back from watford
  • It's quite a long way back to charlton - makes more sense to use the train.

    Lolz
  • The bloke in the video is spot on. He's not done anything wrong by asking the questions he did and I'll say it, I'm glad she heard it face to face. Everyone is happy to say things about the ownership and ask questions on here so why should we get all high and mighty if someone does it in real lfe?
