All the Yann lovers should go and support Bournemouth instead of using his departure as a stick to beat CAFC.
This is a laughable comment. So, no criticism is allowed. Oh, it is that kind of Red Army.
This is a laughable comment. Not entitled to an opinion. Is this your kind of Red Army.
Bit confused Vincent, are you disagreeing with my comment or Nadous ? Who is not entitled to an opinion or am I not entitled to have an opinion on his opinion. I am not happy to be told that I should be supporting Bournemouth for being disappointed about the sale of KMG and not strengthening the forward line ? The Maoists Red Army didn't tolerate any dissent from the party line or allow criticism of the ruling party. I am not sure that you can say that I am saying that.
You should show respect for the opinion of others and then you can expect the same. Funny on this forum how much disrespect is shown to each other.

Just what is the point of the criticism? What does it achieve? If the criticism brought Yann back, perhaps it would have a point but as it is it merely means that people are venting spleen and spite and building up negativity towards the club as it is now.
OK, I should be burrowing my head in the sand and be singing REMs 'shiney happy people'. I thought I supported a football team not a cult, where you have to pretend everything is A OK.

Oh, I should be happy to be told to go and support Bournemouth then ? I don't find that particularly respectful. If a comment is laughable, then its laughable. If I point that out it is not disrespectful it is my opinion. I apologise to Nadou if they are 12 or under and have had feelings hurt.

You haven't answered my question - what is the point of the criticism? It is only worth criticizing things you can change. And no amount of criticism will bring back Kermogant. I don't see what is cultish about that.

I have a real problem with Charlton supporters who are smart asses and ask them to ignore me in future so you know what to do
The point of the criticism is that I am pissed off with the way that Roland has weakened the team and not strengthened. KMG has gone, sure enough and there is nothing anyone can do about that. The goals scored illustrate the kind of player Charlton are missing and with the fact that Roland should be listening to some advice that perhaps his vision and strategy could do with some amending or Charlton are going to be in League One. Charlton had lots of time to bring in players and even though, Charlton are scrabbling around in the emergency window basket, it is still not too late. A couple of players may make the difference.
With Kermorgant in the side and that sort of physical presence, it would allow Ajadervic to play further up the pitch at the top of a cm3. Still wouldn't change the fact we have no pace down the wings to compress the game.

Perhaps it would be helpful if you didn't write half arsed comments in the first place. I will happily ignore your comments in future.

I wouldn't have thought it was weakened. These players were offered contracts and turned them down. Therefore he has cashed in and rightly so.

Please ignore me after this. Am I wrong, it seems to me that you want to blame the new owner for our plight when it is the manager. Kermo scored I now believe to be 5 goals in 17 starts not including sub appearances. He played in 3 winning sides. Our performance last week was poor, at home with 34 per cent possession and 2 shots on target and another poor performance today along with many this season. Kermo going has no bearing on where we are. Charlton are not scrabbling around Chris Powell is. Less than one point per game is not good enough this far into the season but what will save us is 4 teams that we will finish above.
Rugby you are entitled to your opinion, for me the team has been weakened. The next 2 to 3 months will be very testing and that will prove it one way or another. Very happy if it is proved that the team / squad is strong enough.
KMG is gone as Nadou correctly points out and there is nothing that can be done about that. The only reason for considering the contracts is whether that is having an adverse effect on players coming in. If the contracts being offered are not the going rate then players may prefer to get better money from other clubs. KMG being an example of that. The Palace player going to Ipswich may be going there with the view of a future move. If they feel the future money is no good then that may explain the difficulties with getting any decent loan players in ? Who knows maybe Roland's correct and players are paid too much and FFP is going to provide a reality check ? All that 'vision' does not help maintain Charlton's championship status right now unfortunately.
One or two decent loans could make all the difference particularly with resting players to maintain form, injuries or suspensions.
Would Yann have turned the game today? Not a chance.
He's got much better service at Bournemouth (they scored 5 after all), good luck to him. But his loss hasn't cost us any points right now.
Yeah, his record for us against Leicester was poor Maybe we should have kept him and instead sold someone from the midfield (er....Stephens?). Right now - he has scored 3 for Bournemouth and Reza/Pete/Tudgay have scored zero for us. Right now is right now - 3rd of May is 3rd of May, and I will be happy to start this debate again after that.
Just saw his hattrick, and 3 typical Yann goals , 2 cracking headers, and a cooly taken side foot from angle to the goal - Hartlepoolesque, but not quite as good.

I think that the owner's casual approach has a big part to play. It appears that CP has little control over players coming in. The strategy to get rid of the 3 best players in the club and bring in some untested players with little experience, out of contract players and youth is an unnecessarily risky strategy. CP is a Charlton legend and I have the utmost respect for him as a player and character. The delight he showed in Charlton winning against the Massives was brilliant to see. CP can build a great team spirit. Unfortunately as a tactician, he can make mistakes with the team set up. CP is not perfect. The mixture of Roland's tightness, a weakened squad and CPs tactical weakness is not a good combination.
The frustrating thing for me is that the relegation is very avoidable. I hope that the cup run can spur Charlton on and encourage in the relegation scrap. The squad depth is a big concern.

I think that posts of this nature are fine, I have no interest in Powell the legend of his passion or love of the club but his ability to manage. That said as a future ambassador of the club yes. So we can accept each other's views without being abusive and that is how it should be.
We will avoid relegation and then in the cold light of day CP can be judged on the whole season and we can then again view our opinions on results and performances which is what it should all be about.
That's fair enough Vincent. I will drink to that. To proper debate and different opinions. I will also drink to Charlton avoiding relegation as well and another proper drink at the end of the season for Charlton managing to retain Championship status !

VFF you might be someone after my own heart after all and I will drink to that
Vff I understand where you're coming from. It looks like RD is selling our best players to get the club to be more financially stable. To me, it looks like we have tried to strengthen in the loan market but the players have been shooting off to teams higher up the table (which is understandable).
RD came out last week and said talks are ongoing with CP and his new contract. We ultimately beat a team full of PL quality players and then two days later, beat a team away from home in the cup to prevent them from having a derby match with their main rivals. The sooner CP has put pen to paper, the better for me. The players play for him and I can imagine that when the manager's job is in doubt, it must be hard.
Back to Yann, I loved him when he was here, but he is not here anymore unfortuantely.
Scabbyhorse get back to championship manager mate. Its Saturday nothing to stop you playing right through the night
Yer ok m8 because if yann was playing we would off won 4-3 , because the chances we create with powells tactics the result would of been a forgone conclusion, get real. Do people actually think even if we had better players powell would change the way we play? We always set our selves up to hit teams on the break, in league one of course it proves affective because teams dont have the forwards to hurt us, in the championship im afraid its suicide football. So basically m8 dont give me the football manager bollocks, its cheap and makesbyou look silly.

And reza has shown in the 3 games I have seen him play to look more dangerous than church has done all season but who does powell play? Fecking church who missed a glorious chance against the massives but thankfully scored with his elbow. Hi vincent not bothered about the cp lovers bring it on I say because eventually roland will see sense - powell = defensive player = defensive mind - if we go one nil down we are 90% fecked.
