You never know what will happen in the future, and I voiced concerns in the recent past as to what kind of strange business model we might be becoming part off. However I feel a lot more comfortable after watching that.
Well we got there! Apologies for the delays. We resorted to uploading from home this afternoon after numerous failed attempts yesterday. In fact, the upload from home also failed the first time and only a dash home at half-time whilst reporting on the U21s game at Millwall sent it on its way (luckily, I live only a 30 second drive down the road)
We were informed by BT this morning that there was a break in the broadband fibre 12km away from The Valley. It was just plain bad luck that it occurred yesterday of all days
JS deserves all the plaudits for his hard work in editing and getting it out there.
Hopefully the interview satisfies and we hope it was worth the wait!

Where there any other questions asked ( ie Contracts ) that didn't make the final cut?

Sounds to me like he intends to run us in the same way he does Standard Liege. All sounds very honest and positive. He certainly won't let our best players go without a fight or a decent fee (longer contracts might help that!)
They're certainly putting up a hell of a fight with their star striker and the interest from Arsenal and Everton at the moment.

Just send the lad here.
There you are. Sorted.
Belgium have a complex play off system to determine who finishes where. Liege being top doesn't mean they win the league. Send him here for a few months, he'll score 10 goals to keep us up and then he can go back and win the play off's with Liege. Everyone's a winner.
To echo what Olly said, pleased that it has been met with a largely positive reaction. Sorry again that it wasn't published yesterday afternoon as was the original idea.
It seems pretty clear that RD is much more of a pragmatist than a romantic when it comes to running a club. Won't be spending lots and lots of money, the youth are up for sale (but for a good price not in a fire sale), focus on the match day experience and the club beyond the first 11 seems pretty sensible to me. I would of course love a passionate owner who would personally fund the signing of a mega-star Big Name marquee signing, but that is the fan in me talking. From a purely logical perspective I am left reasonably happy that whatever happens, RD won't be letting the club lapse back into the state Slater & Co. left it in when their master plan went wrong.
Ok managed to see and hear it now....I have to say it is a positive set of interviews....RM seems especially happy to have a 'voice' again....Katrien has her head screwed on and I believe is a good addition to the board, I always admire any manager that wants to meet and talk with the staff who work for them. RD is keen to get Charlton where it belongs in the Prem, but by doing it the right way...bringing through youngsters and not selling for a 'quick buck'......keeping our assets and not being forced to sell. I also think that CP's position is secure....quote.... he is a good coach...unquote. We may not be pushing for the prem this year, but as Katrein says we are already planning for next season as soon as this 'window' ha closed....to sum up, I expect 2 or 3 signings this month and we stay in the championship....next season we push on. I'm not sure those that want CP out will now be overly confident that he will be gone at the end of the season.....I may be wrong......but I think he will be here long term. Am I positive about the future...YES I AM!!
Looking around You tube for a copy of the interview, I happened on this game between Arsenal and Charlton. I saw this game at the old Highbury. It was superb. Arsenal fans were in shock at being 1-4 down at home to Charlton. Great video with Chris Powell charging down the left wing. What a superb midfield that was with Parker and Jensen. Real bite. Jensen knew how to tackle and had great passing and vision. Great goal by Jason Euell, to remind you of how good he was.

Like the sound of developing and playing young players. We have had some good players such as Jenkinson and Shelvey who Charlton have had to sell. Like to think of quality young players at Charlton not being sold immediately and we get a chance to see them play for longer. Hopefully that means a push for Category A for the Academy. It has got to be a good way to go and how Charlton can compete.
All sounds positive. I'm happy with steady growth as long as you can see that is actually happening. Need to strengthen this window though as relegation would be unthinkable. I now think we won't see anyone leave unless we get an offer too good to refuse. The next week we need to see some action to back up these words.
the longer term future i would agree with whats been said on here seems to be good news re RDs thoughts/strategy
Its the immediate future that should be the most concern----we are where we are because we didnt strengthen the squad last year and the rest of the league did.Our squad has even got weeker in the last month--Stewart gone,Smith gone and Solly looking like a bit part player for the rest of the season. Again the teams nearest to us in the league have strengthened(Donny,Barnsley,Yeovil,Smallwall) and all with strikers. Not one of the outstanding contracts has been sorted out, this situation was being blamed on the shit displays we have seen so far this year so how as that changed? If CP was telling the players"its the old owners guys all will be well when we have new owners" --- well it hasnt changed has it ?
It would be great for RD etc to have some time to adjust/understand and implement but we dont.
Totally agree with all the above. The next 7 days are crucial for the club in terms of matches, transfers and contracts. Think this will tell us a lot more about our future than the interview has.
Was quite pleased with what they had to say to be honest. I think some will be disappointed that there isn't a clearer commitment to having a real go at getting to the Premiership, although RD did mention that it is where the club needs to be.
Lots of talk about getting player wages under control - the inference being that the financial fair play rules will help clubs to do that. Maybe doesn't bode well for those hoping all the new contracts will be signed in a weeks time.
RD clearly keen on youth development, mentioned Liege have a number of home grown players in the team right now and have produced several good players in recent years. RM said that one of the benefits of having RD owning the club was it stabilised the club financially and meant we wouldn't have to sell young players too early - cited the example of Jenkinson saying we sold for a million because financially needed to, a year later he might have been worth over 5. Took that as a little bit of a message that Cousins is staying for a while yet. They didn't talk about academy status etc but said we have an excellent one and the optimist in me says that going for Cat 1 status will eventually become part of the clubs strategy - in my mind at least that would tie in with the idea of not being forced to sell early.
Not much talk of transfers and contracts, but have been speaking with Chris Powell about these things and they are trying to improve the team.
KM said her role would be working with (and I think overseeing) the management team (Bradshaw & co). She said she had met with or will be meeting with people from all levels in the club. She wants them to feel comfortable that they can come to her with any issues - cited an example that someone from the security team happened to be walking past her office and came in to talk to her about an issue with insufficient security staff. Said she would also be regularly at the training ground to talk to CP, particularly at times in the season like this (i.e. transfer window). Sounded to me like she wants to get stuck in and fix some of the niggly small day-to day issues at the club as well as some of the bigger picture items. She says she'll be attending a lot of games, maybe less so away from home. Generally seemed genuine and likeable, but hard to make too much judgement on someone in a few sentences in a interview but certainly less slippery than the last lawyer we had on the board.
RM is clearly primarily going to be the spokesman but said he will be more heavily involved than he was under MS/TJ who he 'left to get on with it', wasn't sure if that was true or just an effort to distance himself from the old regime. Either way, we can expect to see him at most matches home and away, and having a Charlton fan in a prominent role at the club has to be of some reassurance.
Other misc items, RD wants to make visiting the games more than just turning up for the match - he says people meet with friends at games and spend half a day off there - we need to improve hospitality offerings and also do more to entertain people while they are at the ground other than just the match (hopefully the match itself might also be more entertaining too). RD comes across as a calm, measured kind of guy - wants to take time to properly assess that state of the club and where improvements can be made. He said he was still getting to know CP, but said he thinks he is a good guy and good coach. I didn't get the impression that he intends to sack him, at least not right now. Referred to it as 'the club' and not as 'the business'.
Overall, I came away expecting we will see moderate, sustainable investment and a drive to reduce the club's outgoings, and increasing the income whilst generally running it better. On pitch improvement will be part of the plan, but don't expect that to be driven by big money signings, more likely smart transfer dealings and player development, which to be fair we were doing to decent effect until the money completely dried up under the last lot. The questions weren't the most probing or hard hitting (why would they be for the OS?), but he seemed to want to run us properly in what I might term ' a Charlton way' and that the fans aren't going to be treated as mugs.
Time will tell if I've read it right, but I never really wanted to be a money bags club so I'm quite happy with what I've heard so far.
Funny really, the parts you have outlined regarding the non football part of the game day is exactly what the Fans Forum circa 2009 were trying to improve but met with a brick wall. Maybe this new management team have got the nous to make it happen.

by the sounds of it he wont be splashing much cash (if any) and so any players coming in are likely to be on loan (as Henry has been telling us for weeks) and is also happy to see players leave in the summer to be replaced by our academy kids (Poyet & Fox are two that come to mind if Wiggins & Stephens leave).
That's all ok if we are in The Championship - I just hope he has seen enough to know we desperately need strengthening now and will sanction the 2 or 3 players that we need to stay up.
Whilst on the subject, any striker that does come in needs to be on form and up to the job - no good bringing in players from abroad who don't know the league or players who have not been scoring regularly, It sounds plain enough but the players that fir this category normally cost money & I fear that as mentioned above we will end up bringing in players that are surplus to requirements elsewhere or currently out of form..........and we have 2 of those here at the moment.

Sorry about the banter.
;o)
Why would they want to put themselves in that position with their new bosses? It was a planned broadcast rather than an independent Q&A
They're certainly putting up a hell of a fight with their star striker and the interest from Arsenal and Everton at the moment.

1. RD doesn't want to spend any money on the squad
2 Katrien......I would.
The plan is that this won't be a one-off.

Enjoy. Like to think we will get back to this level in the future.
RD says everything I expected.
KM was the real bonus although nervous she seemed to have a decent sense of humour and her talking about being to all must be a breath of fresh air.
