Both look like pens to me - Stewart's being blatant. The defender came hurtling across and stuck his foot in; Stewart was hardly likely to dive when bearing down on goal like that.
both should have been penalties .. it's alright for the ref to 'level things up' but booking Stewart was a tad too generous to Ipswich .. I was not at the game so can't comment on his overall performance, however, whenever I have seen Atwell previously, I have thought him to be a decent referee .. we are all entitled to a bad day.... EXCEPT FOR BLOODY REFEREES !!
The thing I got from being there yesterday was when sh1t happens never give up and never is that more true of Captain Johnnie Jackson. He is now probably going to become the impact player with his age because he really is the only player we have who I would put money on to hit the target. The more we obsess about ref this and penalty that we miss the point that this happens to both sides and when players obsess about wrong decisions and forget about playing to the whistle then the only winner is the opposition. Good points from yesterday; Stewart is gone (talented but lazy) hopefully Sordell gone (just was never going to happen at Charlton) Wiggins Solly, Wood Stephens, Wilson, Kermorgant and Alnwick all offer hope for the remainder of the season. I really really like Alnwick because he does not play the glory boy. Ipswich was like a morgue yesterday except for the Charlton fans who played there role throughout. It felt good driving back.
I think both were pens. The first one is excusable to miss, but Wood was beaten so the only option was to stumble into the Ipswich player and he seems to have done a reasonable job of it. As for our penalty shout, the Ipswich player went through Stewart. There was definitely contact and booking Stewart compounded a truly awful call.
I'm clearly (well not clearly) seeing the Stewart penalty claim different to everyone else , i see it as Stewart is cutting across the defender moving the ball parallel to the goal line and the defender a fraction of a second after Stewart nudges the ball across toe pokes the ball back to the keeper , they then collide ..... and to me no penalty and no booking either

You passed stage one of the Attwell refs entrance exam but failed with the no booking answer - hard luck, try again soon.
what are you seeing different to me then Muttley ..... i see the Ipswich player made contact with Stewart but after playing the ball back to the keeper
I'm saying what i saw , i believe the defender toe pokes the ball first before the collision , the ref may have got the right no penalty shout but for the wrong reasons
he stuck his leg out and as Stewart knocks it across a fraction of a second later the outstretched toe poke guides the ball back to keeper then they collide , can't see what you're saying
He gets some ball and he gets some man - Find somebody who agrees with you. I'm out.
understand , thats what i'm seeing but in a different order to you ..... and everyone else lol ... although only you and me have prolly bothered to try and study it !

The blatant CAFC penalty ?
