  • Can't believe you fell for that one. Your worse than Napolean.

Two errors in that post if anyone does not understand.
  • "You're ?

    "I cannot" ?

    Spelling/Grammar test ?

  • It's not me fella. Seems to be the thing these days to pick up on anything. I was just highlighting.
I contribute more to the cricket threads on here than anyone. That is in quality not quantity by the way.

    Forums are all about opinions.

    :-)
  • Where is everyone? Got up hoping to read about the match and nothing!

Anyway, the Aussies were in a mini crisis at 64-4 and have now "progressed" to 176-7 (Stokes three wickets, Broad three and Bresnan one) off 43 overs with numbers 8 & 9 at the crease.
  • Spelling banter

Think we have a chance in this game
  • 217-9 off their 50 overs. Two late wickets for Jordan.

We should make it 3-2 now but that score will flatter us.
  • ............... that score will flatter us.

......it's deja vu all over again.

Really? Win this one and you could argue we should've won in Brisbane to take the series... :-)

Anyway, 72-2 off 18 overs. Hardly inspiring stuff on what is a poor ODI pitch.
  • Why would the score flatter us, we have played much better in the last three games. The New Zealander Stokes has done well all tour. I will let him off his failure with the bat today.

It flatters us because 1) Cook is not a very good captain and 2) Oz have taken their foot off the pedal and have 'rested' several of their better players once going 3 up.
However, you could argue that England could/should have won the 2nd ODI if we had a 'gun' bowler to remove the last wicket.

  • To me, it seems that if we were to replace Cook,Bopara and Bresnan with...
Hales (after all, he is the No 1 20/20 batsman at the moment !), KP and Overton then we have the semblance of a reasonable ODI team. How the hell Bopara keeps getting in the team no-one knows (well, i think most people DO know, its simply because he is Cook's 'mate')
  • And he's pretty good with the ball.
  • And he's pretty good with the ball.

But, is he ?? If he is regarded as as 'good with the ball' what does say about our real bowlers.?
He's just a bit of a 'dobber' just like Bresnan.
  • He's not a Mitchell Johnson but in ODIs he has a great economy rates and picks up vital wickets.
  • This series...
    Bopara.batting.. 5 innings with average of 16
currently got 2 runs from 19 balls.
Bowling...5 games, only bowled 25 overs 3 wickets at 4.5.

So, doesnt even get bowled his full allocation in any game.

    Get shot of him !

    My ODI team..
    Hales
    Bell
    Stokes
    KP
    Morgan
    Ballance
    Buttler
    Broad
    Tredders
    Overton
    Anderson

That is a good ODI team, not full of bottlers and pedestrians like Bopara and Cook and Trott.
  • Morning everyone. (Apologies).

    Aus 217-9 (50)
    England 175-6 (43).

    England need 43 off 42.

    Who's your 6th (and 7th) bowler?

Would have to go without 6th bowler. If deemed necessary, then would have to play Root maybe instead of Ballance if deemed 6th bowler required.
  • 26/30.
    Bopara 19* (34)
    Bresnan 12* (10).
  • Bres run out for 13
  • 195-7.
    23/24.
  • Its up to you Ravi - do you 'AV IT !???
  • 204-8 Broad bowled... 14 from 3 overs needed, Ravi on strike.
  • 204-8.
    14/18.
  • Think Oz have got to 'find' an over from someone.
  • 12 from 12...
