Football Violence at the Weekend

The penalties for misbehaving at football are what most will agree, extremely harsh in comparison to other misbehaviors elsewhere.

So why is it there is a constant stream of idiots willing to completely disrupt their own, families and most often kids lives, and face the modern day press / social network humiliation, over something so pathetic ?

Its not a case of saying 'you don't get it' because you are right, I don't. I could when it was a 100 fine, a slap on the wrist and at worst a tiny corner mention in the News Shopper.

But to risk jail, and effectively your life, career and family over something so insignificant, well, you must be bonkers.

There are I suspect a proportion of idiots that are not put off by jail at all. Don't forget, with prisons over-stretched, a two year sentence could effectively mean just eight or nine months behind bars.

Also, with social media and everyone having access to a camera phone it is perceived that there is more violence at football these days when, as someone else has said, statistically this may not be the case.

Finally there is the 'Jeremy Kyle' factor. A certain generation of cretins that will get involved in violence regardless of consequences. They are not risking their careers, families and friends because they are of little importance to them anyway. More often than not these are young people.

Harsh penalties work to an extent, but how you target those that have complete disregard for authority or little care for the consequences of their actions, is nothing football can solve, indeed probably any government.
Any prison sentence under 4 years is automatically halved, so a 2 year is a 1 year, but with good behaviour and the tag system, 6-9 months is normal, dependant on offence, and the address you are to be released too, ie, if you went inside for hassling an ex who lived nearby or beating up a neighbour etc, you may not get a tag depending on where you will live once released.
For offences involving explosives or guns, there is no entitlement to tag (or never used to be).

I saw lots of people refuse tags, purely because they had a better life on the in, homeless people etc. One fella, funnily enough, a palarse fan refused his at Stanford Hill D cat, because he could only give the address of his girlfriend that was acceptable to the prison board and probation officers, he didnt want to be with her so decided the 3 months inside was a better option, and on general release he could go where he liked.
On the tag sytem, people forget, you are still a serving prisoner, just a very priviliged one.

  • seems as if the violence has continued into this week. shocking assault..

  • To be fair to Carol, Vidic gives him a nice little nudge as he takes off, so he's got absolutely no control over his direction after that. I imagine that's why the Man Utd players weren't up in arms about Carol flattening 2 of their players.
  • To be fair? Watch it again!

I dunno what you are watching lol

  • Actual FV is like a drug to many. Most are not down and out scum (although the ones who play cat and mouse with the ob, scarfs round faces, causing damage etc cetinally contain that element).

The ones into actual FV (as oppose to general yobishness) who have decent jobs and families etc probably cant explain why they get involved - it's just in you. That said I think the threat of prison sentances and cctv meaning getting caught is more likely, certinally means people are getting more reluctant to put themselves in the situation which could see them get involved.
  • Pointless.

Already know whats coming next. the sun's very own "Just say no to the chisel" campaign.
  • I thought someone said they weren't just doing it in the loo's they were snorting straight off their hands in their seats?

Why do you say it's ridiculous ?

Also, how much does a line of cocaine cost ? I would have assumed it was expensive & don't see how they afford it.
Obviously I'm speaking from a position of ignorance & don't suggest otherwise. Geniune comments.

A light spray of WD40 on the toilet cisterns etc will sort that problem out.

Affordable dont come into it mate. Its like water its everwhere mate. £40 for an average bit of pub grub which will do most people and if they're skint its halves or strapped til later. Youll get between 4 and 8 goes in a G depending on who you are.

None of it is speed Henry its certainly shite but not Lou Reed mate.

I'll educate you all - it goes like this (so i am told or have read elsewhere):

Fella buys a box (kilo) of good enough shine (90%+ pure)
SHoves shit in it like creatine and acetone and makes 2.5 kilos.
punts it out to bods who then sell .7 or .8 of a gram as a gram.

Some even shitter bods pout even more crap into it making the avarage gram about 25% coke and 75% ansolute rubbish like Italian baby laxative hence the coke poos.

    ENjoy yourselves out there

Everyone adds their bit in as it goes down the food chain, god knows why anyone would take it, there's no way you'll know what you're actually getting.
