stop being so pedantic, I have often in the past bought opposition fans with me in the home end, especially in the prem years. Norwich, villa, arsenal, chelsea, west ham, liverpool, newcastle to name a few Never had a problem as I know them personally and know for a fact that they would not be stupid enough to say or do anything. They even stand and clap when we score.
And vice versa, I have been in the home end at Arsenal, Chelsea and spurs. Also, soon to be in Brighton. Not had a problem and will not be having a problem
One year when we played Palace at home (think it was 2009) I seem to remember a large group congregating in the Angerstein. Think everyone had gone down there from Welling.
Seem to remember it being pretty non descript and there not being an issue with the landlord being Millwall.
Wouldn't say it oozes charm, just a quiet pub tucked out the way
There are areas of the ground where non segregation is permitted for business purposes etc., you could always use those, that way everybody would aware of the situation and act accordingly. Just a thought!
I was not aware of that Loco or are you talking about private box's? If not what stands are these non segregation seats located in?
No, it wasn't boxes. The seats are in the Upper West as stated previously, this is where the issue we were discussing started on Saturday (I'd like to point out that I have only ever seen three issues in the years I've sat there and the other two were people bringing illicit alcohol in). If you use one of the lounge facilities you can purchase tickets for that area, it has been very under utilised of late so I'm sure you could get a deal if you pushed them.

There's standing up and clapping and then there's standing up and clapping, what this chap did on Saturday was somewhat more erm, provocative. A 360 Christ the redeemer with added bring it on hand gestures, is perhaps not the most sensible thing to do when you are in a home area (and you've brought your children along). There are still tribal (for want of a better word) issues in football, bringing other people into that makes for a riskier experience. I think what people are trying to point out is that if you do that unilaterally they share in the risk weather they like it or not.
Having said that I went home to watch the Rugby (which was equally depressing) and witnessed English fans sitting cheek by jowl with the Welsh without issue, as far as I'm aware anyway. Football has a different culture and history though, being aware of that and acting accordingly just seems sensible. Maybe there shouldn't be an issue, but there is. While the club provide areas where mixing of loyalties is permissible why not use that facility.
At the battle of the bridge I sat in the Chelsea stand, I certainly sat on my hands that day, although at one stage out shouted C'mon lads and my Brother in Law thought I had said C'mon Reds and was ready to beat me up to save my life.
I have taken opposition to countless games but always with a severe lecture before hand about how to behave.
As an aside, I was entertained once by Royal Mail at Spuds v Arse, in their corporate box. Arse equalised in the dying seconds and I think to add insult to injury it was Sol campbell. A "fellow" guest turns out to be an Arsenal fan and runs to the front of the box arms aloft. At that point 30,000 fans are staring at everyone in the box doing the slitting throat sign, did I feel intimidated ... yup.. I just kept on mouthing ... I'm a Charlton fan ... nothing to do with me.

There is a DC who had it for a while not sure if he still does
