  • Why is the Pope always really old? This latest one is 76 and retired as an archbishop last year because of his age. Yet now he can be the Pope. Why don't they just elect someone younger and get a few more years out of them.

The cardinals always vote for someone old, so that they may have a chance in the future.
  • Good luck to the new pope, though he does look like Jim Bowen.

    You can picture it.

'Now come and stand over 'ere Petal'

You would have won, the speedboat, a holiday in Majorca plus eternity in heaven seated at the right hand of God'.

'But tonight you go away with your Bully tankard, and eternal damnation rotting in bowels of hell'.

  • Rumour has it they offered it to Nathan but he couldn't afford the fair to get over there.

He turned it down because there isn't a bookies in the Vatican.

Because the old ones are closer to god ;-)

    Falkland islands are fucked then

Jon Snow, C4 said that the new Pope had a lot of rucks and disagreements with the Argentinian government, so not necessarily bad for the Falklanders.

This `new' Pope said, at a Mass at Buenos Aires metropolitan cathedral on April 2 last year, the 30th anniversary of the Argentine invasion of the Falklands: "We come to pray for all who have fallen, sons of the homeland who went out to defend their mother, the homeland, and to reclaim what is theirs, that is of the homeland, and it was usurped."

Fair enough. That doesn't look good.
  • Should keep his bloody nose out of things that don't concern him. The Falklands have nothing to do with religion.
