I didn't renew this season due to lack of finances and more work - I don't think it's worth getting a season ticket next season too. 1) I can't afford it and 2) I've got other plans on Saturday afternoons (like work). That's why I like the Tuesday night games!! I can get to them but they're all away from home!
It's unconditional/blind love for some .... And for others they have different priorities and financial committments Each to their own And a message board being able to share opinions is fair enough Live and let live
Possibly a turning point in CP's career at Peterborough? Personally love him, but I love the club more Im afraid, and I cant see TJ etal letting us slide back into League 1.
I will renew but I would like to see some football be played rather than today where our only option was long ball into the box. I don't expect Barcelona style football but for £400 I expect better than what we've been given this season.
Thing is I'm far from being a fairweather supporter. Have followed the boys all over the country since 1989 when as a fifteen year old I started going away . I was one of the select few that went to Northwich but now I have a family and very little disposable cash I'd rather spend it on something I will be sure to enjoy .
This wouldn't be the end of me going , I'll still go to some homes and aways next season and in a couple of years if the kids want to start coming I'll probably get season tickets again.
Was seriously thinking of travelling down for the Leeds game (I hate Leeds) but am having second thoughts. I really could use the £140ish I'd be spending on things that I actually need. Really want a trip 'home' but not if it means travelling back up north feeling numb inside.
Fellas who don't go to games calling for a boycott of season tickets takes the fucking biscuit.
Tell you what, go or don't go - its up to you. Don't be telling me what to do tjough, particularly if you take every opportunity to slag off the club - and that's my club, not yours - clearly.
Well said,I have applied for my Season ticket already.I have supported my club through much harder times than these and will continue to do so because that is what supporters do.I am not happy that we have won four games at home all season, but the players are trying, but we have got a number of players who are struggling at this level. The confidence at home is shot and we need to keep supporting the players and the Manager till the end of the Season. Then the situation can be reviewed by the owners about what happens with the Manager and the strategy going forward.Hopefully this will be in the Championship.
Guy behind me said "tell me why we should pay more for our season tickets" - can't help feeling he's got a point!
Better players next season?
Saying that is like complaining about public transport fare increases when the current service is crap - you're paying more to make it better in future, not because it's good now.
Likewise our door tickets are very cheap, as are our season tickets, and we don't have an expensive squad.
Are we paying more to get better players next season though? In the literature sent out with the renewals is there any mention of investment in the playing side?
At a time when households are being squeezed, we're expected to come up with an above inflation increase in our season ticket price. It's a tough ask. I've not been with my current employers for long, but as far as I can tell I'd be living in a fantasy world if I expected them to increase my salary in line with inflation.
Add that to the last two home performances and I am currently keeping my credit card in my pocket - I am hoping that the team or the club will give me some reason to invest for the 2013/14 season.
Most sane fans give him 100% support. 21st will be a good season.
He's made mistakes and, in hindsight, the team selection yesterday could be regarded as such but I give him credit for trying to make something positive happen through some brave changes.
As regards "being arsed" or renewing I'm undecided. Not because of the football, after 50 years I've seen it all down there, but because of family circumstances, cost (travel has to be factored in for me as well as tickets), the fact that I'm increasingly attending matches on my own and last but not least the worsening of the atmosphere at The Valley.
After the match yesterday two of our own nearly came to blows behind me and stewards and other fans broke it up.
I'm not sure, at my time of life, I want to spend my precious leisure hours around that sort of nonsense.
Staying up is not a get out the bunting time lets not make any mistake there .were a decent supported club and plenty of clubs do alright coming up . Next season will be where we see what were about . I just hope this dire season is saved somehow by a great derby performance in 13 days but that is doubtful isn't it
No one knows what is going to happen next season. We might go forwards and we might go backwards but that's football. A lot can happen in a summer for better and for worse and this for me makes football great as it's a leap of faith every time you buy a season ticket. I'm more optimistic about next season than i was about this one.
Supporting Charlton or any other club you have your ups (last season) and your downs (this season's home form) but we're 15th not 24th and already relegated. We've been through a hell of a lot worse than this and i hope the people that are questioning renewing are just knee jerk reactions following poor results and come early a sunny august afternoon we are all there in support of our club as i feel this season's home form will be a distant memory. Every season is a new start.

This feel the same, probably will renew but not enjoying the home atmosphere at the moment
This is all about unrealistic expectations. We're a mid to lower-half table side. It's what we have to accept. Throwing toys out of prams when we get results that put us in that position is the kind of attitude that saw the poison creep in at the tale end of the Premier years.
The Championship isn't made up of useless teams. It's nearly entirely made up of clubs that see themselves the way we do - as an ex-PL team who deserves to be back in the top flight. It's ridiculous to assume we should be beating and above teams that have been building in this league for the last few seasons.
With the finances we have, or haven't got, with the trajectory of the club as it is, where we are and the results we are getting is completely normal. I for one refuse to freak out and I refuse to question the manager. I don't believe there's anyone better qualified that we could realistically expect to manage us, and he's shown that with a capable squad, he can get results. He doesn't have a fully capable squad for competing at the top end. So we have to make do.
I reckon we have to accept what we've got, deal with it for a couple of seasons, and hope we can get the kind of investment - or fluke some incredibly cheap signings and unearth some hidden gems - that will eventually lead to our top flight restoration.
Moaning and boycotting will only hurt the club. I would much rather we had 20,000+ supporters all behind the club, for finances as much as anything. But If 5k are going to moan, boo and demand banners be taken down, I'd sooner they didn't turn up at all. Good bloody riddance.
Is going to watch Welling anything to do with them having a good season and being top of the league, this is just the age old glory hunting attitude. They are our team no matter what and that gives us the right to moan at them, cheer them on, be happy with them and be depressed about them. It dont mean walking away! Next season when Welling are in the relegation zone where you going.Bromley, Dartford.....Millwall!
I haven't achieved anything in life through my lack of ambition, so I naturally accept others failings. For me it's about seeing a game of football and having a sense of belonging. Too easily pleased...yep, spot on.

Pretty much what I'd have said if it wasn't for the fact that I couldn't be arsed.
I have been wrestling with what I do next season. The thought of watching League 1 football again so soon fills me with a mixture of nausea and dread and to be honest when we got out of that league last year I was full of optimism. That has dissipated I am afraid not because I was expecting us to do a Norwich but because the apparent philosophy of playing decent Football seems to have evaporated and now we are playing a game which is an exact copy of the stuff that we saw under Phil Parkinson, football that had the crowd booing the team off the pitch virtually every week but yet somehow it is accepted passively. By the way I am not suggesting the team should get booed but at least it is sign that the crowd are involved.
There have several reasons to be disappointed. The first, and most critical was the lack of funds for the manager to invest in better quality players after a great performance to get promoted this lack of quality is really apparent now we are at the business end of the season, as said the lack of decent football and the confused and the sometimes tactically ineptness of Chris Powell who's learning curve appears to have taken a downward spiral and lastly the dreadful pitch which is now half beach. That all adds up to stagnation and it is true of all things but especially sport that if you stand still you go backwards and that is the biggest fear.

I think we'll stay up, but it's the fear of another 2008/9 that is causing me to ponder what to do.

"what if we make the FA cup final and i cant get a ticket?"
Why?
What to do?

Even though this season I have missed just 2 home games all season - the win v Cardiff and the win V Blackpool.
In search of seeing more victories I have made it to a couple of away games however, Palace and Milwall - we didn't win either.
As such i have seen the grand total of 2 wins all season! Given what I have watched I am genuinly stunned we are not in the bottom 3 at the moment!
Up the Addicks.

Maybe i am falling out of love with the way professional football is now packaged.
