6 pointer. If we get Wiggy back, keep Waggy on form, get Wordy in and Ceddy keeps it up who knows....can we start talking about the playoffs again? I enjoyed that!
  • And .......drum roll .......our first home and away double of the season!
  • well done you addicks, finally a home win on a saturday! and well done to wagstaff too, he has his critics but fair play to him he's come back in the side and grabbed a goal.
only another 15 points (or so) to seal survival!!!;-)
  • A good, if expected, win. VERY good to see that Wagstaff still has that GOALden touch
  • Best way to put last weekends bad taste behind us. Good lads!
  • and palace lost while millwall failed to win. when was the last time we won whilst they both didn't in the same fixture list?...
  • That last minute goal won me 46 quid. Jacko fgs with us to win 2-1. Perfecto

  • Won 9, drawn 9, lost 9. Not bad for a promoted side with no investment in 18 months.
  • I would say we're doing pretty good. Chris Powell is a rock.
  • I didn't realise that was Nathan Eccleston who scored Blackpool's injury time goal.
  • Fantastic result, first time i predicted this season we would not win, so thankfully i was wrong, well done lads.
  • Did Harry make much of an impression when he came on ....?

Raw but a lot of promise. One great piece of skill by the touchline and one comical right footed shot! We started poorly as usual but bossed the game after first goal. I thought the midfield pressed really well, stephens, pritch and waggy all good and another captain's goal from Jacko.
  • Cheers, Crookster!

After the horror show of the Huddersfield game, it shouldn't be forgotten that today's 3 pints means back to back League wins.

Hasn't happened very often this season!
  • First off its a very welcome home win and three points. Strength in depth shown up with the three kids on the bench. That can't continue. Thought Waggy ran his rocks off and I find it astonishing that Kerkar Green and Cook have been preferred. Jacko was my mom and my overiding feeling is that what we lacked in quality which we did we made up for with endeavour and team spirit. All helped by a tidy but powderpuff Blackpool attack force.
  • Great to watch two contrasting, but equally excellent CFs today in Kermorgant and Phillips. Kermorgant for his ability to win everything and pass the ball with such accuracy and vision. Phillips for his movement. Both worth the entrance fee alone.

Watford's away win at Middlesbrough today, puts into perspective how good our 4-3 win at Watford was.

Especially when you consider that was Watford's only loss in their last 12 matches.

There's a man who also watches the player, rather than only following the ball.

  • Phillips didn't waste a single ball. Not that great a goal threat these days.
  • Posting without reading.
Well we've played much better than that this season and, errrm, drawn. If anyone can pick a MoM today good luck to you, it was one of those typical Charlton days under Powell where the team were strong together, yet no particular individual stood out. I would say they were all worth about a 7, but more significantly the result was worth 3 points.
Blackpool were worthy but rudderless. They had skills, lots of nice flicks here and there, a decent manager could take over there and have a platform to build on...if they have any sense they will appoint Sean O'Driscoll. We were decent in all areas, good to see Waggy get a positive experience today after a tricky season for him, and good to see the little vignette from Harriott, he still has some work to do yet, not getting carried away myself.
The points tally was good, a win was good, better than last week is good, and no significant injuries is good. We move on.
  • Jingle bells, Jingle bells, Jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to see
    Charlton win away.

It was like an away performance with the 4 - 5 - 1 but a deserved win.

When we woke up, stopped watching them play and closed down we got on top and for all Blackpool's flicks and movement they were second best.

Everyone was solid and worked hard but credit to Evina for dealing with Ince most of the game.

Well done Taylor for a typical fighting display after so long out.

Waggy, what can you say. Scored every game this season, tired late on but worked his bits off. And he was playing out of position.

Harriot (who is left sided) had a great cameo too. Hope to see him at least on the bench a few more times this season.

MOTM Kermongant, defended from the front and laid the ball off in most of our good moves.

Hamer, Sort it out. The ball is in the six yard box so it's yours, deal with it.

Powell, took a risk with 4 - 5 -1 and Waggy but it paid off and the subs were spot on : - )

6 points from the play-offs. We can dream
  • very, very happy with the result - after the Ipswich & Derby games I was concerned that we were on the slide & thought a bleak January lay ahead but full credit to CP & the team - excellent back to back results
  • Phillips didn't waste a single ball. Not that great a goal threat these days.

Phillips is one of my favourite non-Charlton players, despite the fact he normally scores against us. He's an absolute class act.

  • Ten minutes in I'm thinking 'here we go again'. We just couldn't get any possession and Blackpool looked like Barcelona by comparison. Then we tightened up, pressed them harder and took our chances. And if the performance was nothing more than workmanlike, it was a clearly deserved home win which is not something we've had very often this season. Good stuff.
  • Did Hamer make a save? Other than 10mins at the start I thought Blackpool were pretty average.

Wilson MOM by a country mile.
  • Great performance from pretty much the whole team, with the unfortunate exception of Stephens (again). Great result.
