He couldn't kick it properly. If being big now earns you £5000 a week then no wonder people hate football. If we had a bit of pace upfront then shittu would have got embarrased
Also Kerkar was terrible yesterday. Sherker. Thought Stephens did better than people are claiming. He didn't do great in possession but I thought his closing down was second to none.
Jacket said “I do feel that going forward as a manager I feel we have more creative and goal scoring options than we’ve had for a while."
It's the defence, possibly one of the best in this league and more so when Wiggins and Morro comes back in! Cort was a liability TBH with his hands, Dervite in for Cort when we play a team that plays on the ground like Brighton?
Hard earned point. Millwall were the better team, but we battled away manfully. If you support Millwall you'd say you deserved to win & if you support Charlton you'd say a point was deserved for the battling performance.
Defence & keeper did very well. Strikers played decent. Midfield was average. Jackson put in a great shift & Pritch did well. Stephens was quiet & Kerkar not very involved & only player who didn't really perform.
Escaped at the end just about, with the big bloke offering us out & then Charlton rushed at the Millwall.
Definitely the most unpleasant football fans & ground in England.
my MOM was Cort---Woods is a beast but Cort had him in his pocket. Solly was very good and tackle of the season on the smallwall twonk.
there was a point when our subs were warming up something was said not sure who from the subs but he stopped and turned round and looked at the scumwall "fans"
Not sure about Jan and Hulse up front would have liked to see some speed up there---more so when under pressure.
Old guy behind me --- was on a differant planet "solly u r shit" --"our defence was shit"----"BWP is a lazy shit" 2 nano seconds after he got on the pitch !!!!!!!!! WTF go to smallwall and slag the team off for 90 mins ?
The 2 main things I learnt yesterday are that Millwall really are a nasty bunch and that we as fans have some of the worst haircuts going. I saw so many young lads aged between 16-24 with hair that was embarrassing haha.
Haha I hope you are joking. I'm still convinced he is just a massive Charlton fan and the make a wish foundation and Chris Powell are granting him his wish.
I had the mis-pleasure of sitting with Millsmall thugs next to the dugout and was totally shocked at the racist chants aimed at Haynes and BWP. Nasty bunch of idiots. The stewards should be ashamed of themselves for their failure to deal with it. Won't be sorry not to go back there in a hurry.
It's a pity that both sides were short of top players. No Fuller or Haynes for us, though Haynes was an unused sub; no Henderson or Trotter for Millwall. Let's hope that when Millwall come to the valley both sides are at full strength and we get a good game before the fighting and arguing starts.
now that was a derby day, had everything but goals (shame) totally different from last time and in the end happy to get a battling draw. stood up for ourselves in my eyes, no one can take that away which is pleasing, nothing more than that really, get a bit and give a bit back!
all in all a passionate affair, how it should be and good to spend it with committed charlton fans.
We played Milwall and the lads were bloody brave, worked their socks off and did us proud. But none of this seems to matter, fighting and flares are apparently more important. Sad sad times.
Solid performance without ever really attempting to play (apart from a 5 minutes spell in second half) With all our pace being out injured at the moment it was always going to be tough but defence were outstanding, midfield battled and Hulse did well. Kermo doesn't seem to be putting his body on the line like last season. Once Haynes, Wiggins and Wilson are back, the return fixture will be a proper game of football. Yesterday was about doing a job and it was a job well done. Enjoyed it - loved laughing at the cretins in their east stand - pull the sheeting off the seats and then stand there - hold me back, hold me back - what a gang of sad cases. Green mugged that short bloke off - fatty got smacked with the truncheon - great entertainment - no wonder the genuine millwall fans find it all so emabarassing these days. All in all, a good day out and i think they are peaking now - if they don't go up this year (and they aren't quite good enough) Jackett will be off and they will sink back to League 1. Us, we are a work in progress - CP is a true legend - players will run through brick walls for him, fans will back him to the hilt. We are on our way back up. This time next year we will be firmly back as number 1 in south London and taking our pick of the millwall and palace players. Looking forward to a good second half of the season.
I'm surprised more people aren't disappointed with our overall performance on Saturday. People seem to be overplaying the idea that it was a good, battling point. But the truth I can't get away from is:
We didn't have a single shot on target for the whole game!
In two trips to the New Den in three years, we have offered almost no attacking threat. Looking at the squads, I wouldn't say that they are that much better than us. For over 3000 Addicks to make the trip to Bermondsey and for the team to offer very little going forward leaves a bitter taste. I wanted more than anything for us to win yesterday, and whilst the atmosphere made for a memorable day, I would struggle to sit down and watch the game again on DVD.
Wasn't anybody else underwhelmed by our lack of chances created?
Not underwhelmed at all. And I also don't think there's a point in mentioning the previous outing at the Den. Totally different teams.
They are a very good Championship side, on an unbelievable run, who have recently won at Blackburn, Wolves and Forest amongst others-I reckon their sides on paper looked a million miles from Millwall but that counts for nothing. Just ask Arsenal and Chelsea fans this weekend. We are trying to establish ourself as a Championship side and Powell knows that for most away games, particularly against teams in the upper echelons (sic) of the league, keeping it tight is the highest priority. Anything that comes on top of that, like it did at Burnley and Bristol City, is a bonus.
The only thing that left a bitter taste in my mouth yesterday was the traffic, i didn't get back to Bexleyheath until 6:00! Other than that I had a great day.

Chances are he'll be sold by WBA in January to a lower Premiership or top Championship side, once he goes then Millwall will revert to mid-table.
