Gently moving up the league. By the New Year should be in a play-off position. "Something Inside So Strong" is starting to become the internets equivalent of "Love Is All Around Me
Meant to continue: by Wet Wet Wet/Troggs. Still say the "Charltonised" version should be 'The further you took our ground away, The stronger we BECAME'
Thought Hulse was a brilliant hold up man today, he's a perfect man to have with someone like Haynes, much better than playing him uptop on his own in a 4 5 1
Bristol supporters were singing 'Lets pretend we've scored a goal', booing and generally being rather unhappy and quiet. We on the other hand just kept making a big noise. Jacko is back to gritty fired up mode and the squad confidence is visibly growing. Ben Hamer is looking better and better. There was a tremendous team spirit and Chrissy looked back to his old enthusiastic self after the game. Danny Haynes was the player that stood out for me, he's really fired up but they all worked hard and Pritch never stopped running. Morro kept a close eye on Seaborne as well as scoring a goal, a true team player. Altogether it was a great day out.
just saw the goals on Sky, Morro an amazing goal for a central defender with his feet.
I was listening to the fans phone-in on BBC Bristol and they had an interview with the BCFC Asst manager who 'claimed' they had the best of the chances. The highlights on Sky seemed to suggest otherwise. Sounds like it was a very professional performance. Well chuffed with that.
Delighted to see Jackson getting good reviews. Two weeks ago, according to many on here, he was out of his depth in this league. He was simply, out of necessity, being played out of position.
However, all this talk of play-offs makes me nervous. We'll finish mid-table and consolidate.Talking of play-offs is fanciful talk of promotion which we are not ready for.
Great win. We have now won 3 and drawn 2 of the last 5 away and pointswise are now equidistant from the Play-Offs and the bottom 3. Onwards and Upwards!
Jackson is at his best when he has the grit and silent aggression. Maybe coming back after recurring hammie injuries he was easing himself back in until he built confidence.
Well done on the post. The first half finish by Haynes was excellent. The second half goal by Morrisson was very good after some comedy defending. Stephens looks dangerous when he gets into more advanced positions. I would like to see Pritchard score after all the effort he puts in, in midfield. Solid defending for the Bristol City scramble near the end.
Another great 3 points.
BTW, for those a bit technically challenged (like me for a couple of minutes) the clip works but you need to press the computer button as opposed to the mobile.
Blimey, could the Sky Sports fella sound any more bored when describing that? Think he said that was Haynes's first of the season as well which is obviously not the case. Though to be fair he did score his first of the season an entire 5 days ago.
If you're going to muck about at the bottom of the table then you have to beat the teams below you. We generally like to capitulate against the bottom teams so I'm really glad we've taken control of this one. Onwards and upwards

Thank you - I've just realised why I hate the coverage on Sky Sports News sometimes - they sound so frigging bored! Can't they get some people who can inject a bit of enthusiasm into their commentary?
Before the game I thought 3 points was important as it pulls us into the middle pack, 5 points ahead of the bottom 5 who are starting to be cut adrift. Early days I know but important none the less. I just feel CP is starting to get the hang of this league. :-)
This was a similar performance to many last season as we controlled the game from start to finish. You can only play what is in front of you and BC look like some of the poorer teams from last season. There was obviously great love for CP expressed again by the fans and also by the players. Haynes ran to him following his goal. At the end of the game CP got the players into a huddle and was very animated as he spoke to them from its centre.
A really good shift today.
As a footnote feel sorry for city as its obvious that the spanners have been lately and ripped the backs off all the seats.
Seaborne was really good - I was surprised after the slating he got from Southampton fans. Really did some good development work and defended solidly. On the thin evidence of one game I'd like to think he might stick around longer than the month. But lets see how he develops.
At the game today and witnessed an excellent away performance. Plenty of good quality possession in periods but wanted to mention the desire the players showed to win the ball back and determination they displayed. BC ceretainly didnt lack effort but the boys showed fantastic steel and grit - all the ingredients we have seen in the past from good CAFC sides.
Really impressed by what I saw from a side which in my opinion is short of being full strength on paper. Whatever we may lack in quality, the desire and commitment is still there in abundance.
Great to back up the Cardiff result with another well earned 3 points. Confidence has returned and soon so will some of our injured players - Wiggins, Kermorgant, Fuller, Wilson... Put these names in the mix and we have genuine competition for places and options for the Manager. Now we can really start to look upwards rather than down.
Just got back, posting without reading here. It was a game that very much reminded me of the teams performances from last season. We were there on business, and got the business done, efficient, and kind of ruthless...without being brutal. I thought Bristol City were on a par with the likes of Brentford last season, not very good, they fashioned a few chances, but were very poor in front of goal. Not getting Baldock last summer didn't seem much of a loss. We were on top for the whole game more or less, and I was never really worried. As for us, well it is becoming a feature of Chris Powells Charlton, very much a team effort. No player was less than a 7, but hard to single out an outstanding individual, the best marks might be an 8, or a 7.5, everywhere we were good to very good, but playing a poor side. Haynes and Hamer enjoyed their goals, as we did. We sang more or less for the whole game, the adjacent Brizzle fans gave it a bit of a go, and there were one or two amusing chants back and forth. Three lovely points grabbed and brought home. Nice all round.

Sounds like decent support which is good even though the flares are a bit cringy especially for a daylight game, maybe im not down with the kids
Now lets have a whole week of getting behind the football club.

And this.
Next!
Wrap Haynes in cotton wool for a week!
Needn't have worried as we continued in the same way 2nd half.
We played well, Brizzle (on that performance) are going down.

JJ and Dale controlled the game in the midfield.
Strange days indeed!
