SCP has a lightweight squad, he needs to replace players now and the Board are to blame no question, sacking him is the wrong answer, we blew Div 1 but at this rate a return visit is likely.
Thought 4-1 flattered them. We were ok until 3-1 but they were clinical with their chances. Our defence was poor but had we taken out chances the outcome would have been different
What goes on at home? Should've kept the same tactics as away I think.
Far too much chopping and changing at the moment. We're Boro three clear goals better than us? In the score line, of course, but we done ok. Still not creating those clear cut chances though.
Thought Kerkar equipped himself well enough, Hulse took his goal incredibly well and Dervite looked fine in CM. Jacko and Pritchard are too slow for this league as well.
Couple of horror shows for the goals, Powell needs to keep heads up or this could get even nastier.
Pritchard was our quickest player in starting line up. Don't let disappointment cloud your judgement.
Pritchard may be pretty quick without the ball, but with it he is probably the slowest player.
Hamer had a bit of mixed day today, a couple of saves at the end stopped it being a cricket score, but the fact they had 3 goals from 3 shots means he cant be exempt from criticism. Morrisons decision making was awful today, dervite had to play 3 positions and didnt look good in any of them, cort is a liability when the balls anywhere near his feet, solly got caught out of position a couple of times and was ineffective as a wing back, kerkar isnt a defender, but was ok going forwards, overhit a couple of crosses though. As before, Pritchard is too slow with the ball, but runs around a lot, Jackson is too slow full stop, wright phillips needs to get a bus to Lewisham and buy some new studs from sportsdirect, and then work on his shooting. Hulse did ok but faded after the hour, wilson was possibly our best player before the injury.
Stephens was diabolical, every pass was backwards or to a blue shirt, he didnt track back enough and only one tackle was noteworthy. Haynes done a bit when he came on, a shot he had was powderpuff and its irrelevant anyway as he'll pull his cheesestring by Tuesday.
Oh and cook came on didnt he? All I remember is two passes that went towards him, followed immediately by two Boro throws
Jackson has contributed nothing this season. Trying to keep things in perspective though on the basis that few teams would be able to cope with the extent of our injuries in key positions which, IMO, is what has made us so vulnerable. Fear for a heavy defeat on Tuesday.
Deep breath. Will look stronger with Yann, Wiggins and Fuller back. Just hope we are not stranded by the time they are available. Desperately need an attacking midfielder though.
Powell did get it wrong with Wilsons replacement, maybe should have got Haynes on the right. But you have to feel sorry for CP, 3/4 quality players would be enough, which I'm sure he thought he was going to get. I think he's probably getting the best out of what we have (unfortunately). Most teams aren't better than us man for us, the just have a couple with some quality going forward/in the middle. Unless the board asks a new manager to bring money with them, they won't get any better out of what we've got I don't think

This .. set a team and tactics and a shape and just go out & play home or away
I'm getting worried how tactically clueless SCP is. Half the team out of position all second half and our worst player (Jacko) left out there aimlessly wandering about.
Thought 4-1 flattered them. We were ok until 3-1 but they were clinical with their chances. Our defence was poor but had we taken out chances the outcome would have been different
Agree with this.
Individual mistakes cost us, both in terms of giving the ball away and not taking our chances.
Last week at Wolves we stepped up a gear in the second half, this time it was the reverse. Most concerning thing is to have conceded heavily like that, as we're not looking like we're going to score too many.
Too many good players not available through injury. Desperately need a settled 11 to make any real impact on this division. Luck has been against us (injuries) but I have faith that the results will turn eventually and we will consolidate a position about half way.
Thought Dervite did Ok, Kerkar at left back was a terrible decision by Powell. In the first half we had 2 or 3 excellent chances, pritchards header, hulses header & Corts header all wide of the target in great positions.
I thought BWP was well off the pace & we fell apart in the second half.
Lets hope we go 5 across the middle & play somebody at left back who is a left back.
the most disappointing thing about it was the fact that their first 3 goals were all easily preventable and also the fact that we still seem unable to take our chances
It was poor and to take BWP off when he was working his nuts off disappointed me.The first goal was the worst to give away.I watched Dervite and Cort talking about who they were picking up and the neither of them go with their men.Disagree that Kerker equipped himself well at left back, but thats my opionion turned to the geezers I was with and said this season has the feeling of the season we went down, home form wise.

Totally agree. We could've been 3-1 up at half with better finishing. But a couple of defensive lapses we find ourselves 3-1 down. It's all very frustrating and depressing

Now going to drown my sorrows!
BWP off the pace, you must have been pissed, his touch was very good and worked his nuts off.
I found out the team at 2 o'clock and decided to go to my friends uni in london instead of attending the match due to seeing the team sheet, all across that team you could see there was no quality to win the game and it would either be a complete bore or get hammered type of match.
Glad I stayed at home, will probably go tuesday mind
An afternoon that began with promise and hope, but ended in shambolic despair.
Chris Powell's team selection was a surprise. He set up 4-4-2 with Wright-Philiips paired with Hulse upfront, but behind them Powell selected a motley crew. With Kerkar at left back, the ponderous Jackson was chosen at left midfield and with Pritchard alongside Dervite in central midfield the omens were not good. Dervite looks a decent player, but to say that the midfield appeared to lack guile is a huge understatement.
Nevertheless, despite my pessimism, Charlton began brightly with Pritchard in particular a busy nuisance. Indeed, Pritchard it was who set up Hulse who finished superbly for 1-0. The lead didn't last long. Woodgate found himself completely unmarked as he headed home from a free kick. Very disappointing.
The game's turning point was perhaps the injury to Wilson just before half-time. He was replaced by Stephens with Pritchard moving to the right. Pritchard disappeared from the game whilst Stephens played too deep to hurt Boro. What hope there had been began to fade.
However, we were still in the game when Michael Morrison gave the ball away enabling Boro to break and score. A bad and fatal error. Chris Powell then completely lost the plot and the result was game over.
Powell's first bizarre decision was to go 3 at the back with Morrison, Cort and Dervite strung out behind a middle 5 with Solly and Kerkar pushed forward. Within minutes Ledesma found himself in a huge gap between Morrison and Cort and calmly lobbed Hamer for 3-1. Given Cort's lack of pace it was an extraordinary thing to do and the result inevitable.
Two substitutions followed shortly, but led to tactical chaos. Haynes and Cook came on for Cort and Wright-Phillips, but what was the system? Dervite now moved alongside Morrison, but was it 4-4-2 again, 2-6-2 or 2-1-5-2 with Stephens in an even more ineffective Quaterback role? I really had no idea. Most importantly, nor did the players and it was a complete shambles. We were lucky Boro added only one more goal. It could so easily have been 5 or 6.

Chris just stick to 4 5 1, this squad can not cope with 4 4 2 or 3 4 3, are midfield can not hold on to the ball, and today the defence went a-wall seemed resigned to defeat even after we scored.
Defensive errors reminded me of the last time we got 4 goals against us (notts county). Pritchard needs to pump some iron, or is getting pumped by an iron! and Hulse needs to convert more, Boro's strikers took every chance they had. Gutted. Lets go 4-5-1 against Cardiff and nick 3 points
Scoreline looks bad but first half we were the better, no doubt the defenders too loose confidence has the mistakes started to occur, hopefully SPC can get them back up for Tuesday not going to be easy though.
Kerkar did okish at LB, he played there in the 1st half when if anything we shaded the game. In the first half Pritchard in CM was competitive and full of energy.
After Stephens replaced Wilson we fell apart in the second half, Pritchard was anonymous in RM (as he always is, so it's hardly a surprise), Stephens was swamped in CM, contributing a couple of last ditch tackles but no energy (as usual) and no drive to come forward. Kerkar's crossing when he was in a more attacking role was terrible, JJ also contributed little, but then the 2nd half was a complete shambles, nobody knew what they were doing, very poor. Reminded me of the 5-2 vs Sheff Utd that cost Pardew his job...
CP is clearly out of his depth, has a range of weaknesses and is failing to learn and develop. This is not panic but a realistic assessment of the current situation, 14 games into a season when we will be in the relegation zone after the 15th.
As much as we want him to succeed CP is not up to the job. The board need to hire a Manager who is competent in this league as a first step to staying up.

laying us to win at just over 6 to 4 was a gimme (unfortunately)
thankfully wasn't there today (family chuff my excuse) need to find one for tuesday now !
0% Top Half 60% 13th-21st 40% RELEGATION ....
looks like we're getting in to reverse for the fixture v the scum and they're warming up .... could be a cricket score ffs

The 2nd and 3rd just show how much more clinical teams are in front of goal. 2 very good finishes. Although hulses was very good too.
Still don't understand the kerkar at left back decision. Not looking forward to Tuesday night. Let's hope ricardo will make an appearance

CP I lost the last faith I had in you today.
