Slater will be gone by January due to the fall out with TJ and Cash. There are people trying to put togethor a consortium to buy out TJ, however he will play hard ball. Elliot would be part of the TJ set up.A slick and proffesional team with well recognised faces. 2013 could be interesting.
strange move but unless he has oodles of dough and is bailing us out, which I doubt, it does beg the questions why? and by whom?
I'm not surprised Slater is taking a step back for a number of reasons. I doubt Elliott would come in just to be somebody's stooge, he ain't a fool. I can also see no reason why Paul cannot continue with his other work either. Chairman of a football club is not as time consuming as being its Chief Exec ;-)
Elliot is not charlton man, why the feck money or no money do we want him involved ! Jogg on and leave. Us alone !
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. As Mark Twain said "It is best to keep your mouth shut and be presumed ignorant than to open it and remove all doubt". Suggest you go and do some research.
Elliot is intelligent, eloquent, knowledgable about football, well connected, well liked and an old Charlton boy (sounds very much like Chris Powell doesn't it). Could well be a good move for us. Good luck to him if it's true, good luck to him if it ain't.
A chairman is a figurehead, the face of the board of directors without necessarily being a major investor. So it's a perfect position for someone eloquent, presentable and personable and from what I have gathered, Paul Eliot fits the bill (though I haven't seen or heard anything from him in years; he doesn't make Asian TV unlike many other ex-Charlton players and managers).

great news if true Paul is a gent, why does the chairman have to be the money man he isn't at a lot of clubs, Gartside hasn't bank rolled Bolton,Niall Quinn didn't bank roll Sunderland. I would have thought Paul would tick a lot of boxes for potential investors in the club, but heyho keep knocking everything that happens at Charlton at the moment.
