  • So does this end the Waggy/Green debate now??
  • He'll get games and a chance to stand out - and not too far away either. Probably ticks the right boxes.
  • Agreed muttley
  • Will be good for him, will score goals, keep his fitness and sharpness up!
  • Wow, I'm surprised at this. I thought Waggy was on the edges of the squad and would get his chance sooner rather than later.
  • Bit of an odd one, that leaves us with RW options of Green and Pritchard. Does this mean we have someone coming in? I think we have looked much better with a true winger playing, not putting Pritchard down I really rate him but he hasn't looked too comfortable there.
  • I hope this is only to get competitive games under his belt because i rate Wagstaff and he does get the odd goal. Green is doing a fine job at the moment and for crossing ability he is a lot better than Waggy, but i'm not comfortable with Pritchard as our back-up winger personally as he is definitley better in CM (no i am not having a pop at Pritchard he is just so much better as CM). Unless Haynes is fit now i find this a strange loan.
  • We have only really seen waggy play in league one. Where he did OK, not good not really badly. Unfortuantely that is his level.

When you have to produce the goods in higher divisions, Danny Green is your man.
  • Waggy has often reminded me of Varney. Athletic, would run for ever and gave their all. But for all their efforts, their game wasn't to the standard needed and neither did I see enough improvement in their games. Looking back, Solly and Waggy were exciting to watch, Solly has grown immeasurably but Waggy hasn't. I hope Waggy gets some games now and starts to enjoy himself again.
  • think League 1 is his level

wilson can play there, as can a 'fit' haynes
  • Forgot all about the bloke really. Like said league one is his level

Agreed, I think when Wiggins returns and Solly goes RB, Wilson will be back up or possibly in front of Green.
  • Chance to prove some people wrong.Have the con
  • I think he has to find his position. He doesn't beat people and so his delivery needs to be better to operate out wide. His attributes are that he knows where the goal is and has a great engine. I have always thought he might have been better being developed as a right back.wing back - given his engine but maybe too late now. Maybe his position is more central but he would need the right partner. It really is a difficult one although he will always have a career in the lower leagues I suppose.
  • Suspect this was necessity. Hulse and Razzak's wages aren't going to pay themselves.
  • Strange one this, especially if we might start playing 5 across the middle more, certainly need an out and out right winger to challenge green - someone sturdier than Haynes and who can cross better than Wilson (having seen him 20+ times at Stevenage)
  • Wiggins isn't due back for a while, Haynes is out injured at the moment. I presume Green's injury can't be bad, as we don't have much cover, I guess it's a short term loan with a recall option.

I think it's a bit early to condemn him as a L1 player, without at least giving him a chance in the 1st team. Varney may not have done it for us, but did ok elsewhere (including a spell with Blackpool in the PL)
  • Hopefully we have a recall clause.

If so a good move to give him games.
  • If I was Sir Chris- I'd have Green, Wilson, Haynes and yes- Pritchard before him wide right. Pritchard isn't a direct comparrison but does boister the midfield even if you lose a bit of width. But he does have potential and can still come good - but requires games and so needs to go out on loan.

  • A good move for Waggy and the club I feel. Always liked the lad for his motivation and effort but doubted he had the quality for The Championship and it appears that CP also thinks that. The good thing is that this will keep him match sharp in the vent that we have to recall him due to injuries.
  • Actually Wilson as RM cover is actually a good shout once Wiggins is fit. Didn't Wagstaff play for us in our last season in the Championship before we got relegated?

Pardew destroyed his confidence in the Yeovil cup game. Made the breakthrough the next season under Parky.
  • He did Madz and did OK however I recall he sometimes looked out of his depth against better quality players but sorry to say it's just a fact that his final delivery is poor compared to Danny Green.
  • not a bad move for him.

at the moment it's about his level and only a loan so with age on side he now has the chance to improve himself and maybe step up to the championship once the loan expires

    agreed
  • Disappointed for the lad as I really like Waggy - hasn't even had a half chance. Perhaps Pennant is an option judging by his Twitter? https://twitter.com/j_pennant
  • Wilson will take the wide right slot sooner or later.

Wagstaff will start banging them in for Orient

Not that it's on the OS yet

seems good to me. Get him playing same games so he is fit and then call him back.

True, if I'm honest I've sort of written of Haynes in my head. Hope I'm wrong though as when he is fit he looks a handful.
