Charlton have suffered an injury blow with the news that striker Yann Kermorgant needs surgery after fracturing his ankle, the club revealed on Tuesday.

The French frontman suffered the ailment during training last Thursday and missed Saturday’s match against Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

A further scan on Monday afternoon produced some unwelcome news for the 30-year-old and manager Chris Powell.

“Yann has fractured his left ankle and will be operated on this week,” confirmed physio Erol Umut.

“We were not happy with the outcome of his X-ray last Thursday after he had a collision in training, and after Yann rested over the weekend, we had a further scan on Monday.

“That revealed the fracture, so he will be operated on this week, and it will potentially rule him out for three months.”
  • fracture..shite.
  • Out for 3 months.
  • Someone said on another thread how lucky we were with injuries last season.

    Pay back time. :-(
  • 'Nother Ruddy Crock
  • loan needed?

Fuller might not be able to do games SAT/TUES/SAT
  • Leon Clarke
  • We will have to bring someone in as we only have one striker who has had a pre season under his belt in the first team and is 100% fit in BWP.
  • Just seen this and can't believe it's another longish term injury for the squad.

Guess this is where the other players get their chance to step up to the plate...and maybe the fact that no loanees have been taken aboard so far might be a blessing in disguise if we now need to look ton strengthen other areas of the squad.

  • That's really bad news, makes us look a little light-weight up front.
  • Defo have to get a loan in

    Leon Clarke

    NOPE!
  • Shoot me down but Leon Clarke could come back in, think he'd work better with BWP than he did with Kerm.
  • bad news, have Fuller and BWP both got 3 games a week in them?
  • ahhh that's crap ... probably mid-january before he gets any real match fitness back ... feel very sorry for him
  • Very, very bad news.

Just worried as to how his form will be when he comes back. Get well soon big man, we need ya!

its that f*cking local priest, up to his old tricks again!

  • Give Michael Smith a starting chance?
  • Get Leon Clarke back
  • Damn. Not great news. I wonder whether the need for a striker will put an end to any possible deal for NRC...?

Cut your cloth and all that.
  • Seriously bad news .. :Let's hope that Smith, if he gets the chance, can fill the gap .. on the cup 1/2 full side .. it'll give Wright-Phillips & Fuller the chence to forge a partnership

    *Loads Shotgun*
  • Give Michael Smith a starting chance?

    Over Leon Clarke all day
  • If fuller gets injured too, we are fecked

Ok if we're playing a passing side but we'll need that extra height for a physical game...

Ricardo 6ft3 maybe he might have to be the target man, must have played that roll under Tony Pulis at Stoke.
