A great response. Very heartening to see players like Kerkar giving us something different. Proper nailbiter at the end, though. We've got to stop doing that!
Table looks much better tonight. Shame the Nigels won, or we would have had the south London braggin rights again. All in good time!
Was always looking for 3 points from those two games - no interest in draws! as people said on Tuesday the last 20 minutes was a sign that we were starting to find the right balance ... clearly we have 3 decent forwards now - let's hope we are fortunate with injuries...looking forward to the two home games coming up let's see how the "new" midfield looks... still hoping we can sign someone to add to what looks a thin squad And to those criticising CP, individually we may have seen a better starting XI for Derby(a) but he is managing the squad and doesn't want to be seen as trigger happy like some of his predecessors
Just got off the Victoria golf course in Portugal great to hear the result and found out Millwall lost as we have some mates here who are season ticket holders there, think the Charlton boys are going to have a good night
My brother does some work for Ipswich so got me a ticket. Sat righ by the dug outs. Was great to get such a close up view of the game. Fuller is an immense human specimen. Loved how he seemed to have so much time on the ball at times. I thought we played well. Jacko looked good in the middle and the two centre backs were solid. Also thought Wilson did a good job. After the game, saw Powell in reflective mood in the dug out do called out to him. We had a quick chat. He seemed really chuffed if a little relieved. Oh, and anyone who questioned our team spiri and ethos after the Palace game can surely not question it now,
didn't see the game but listened on the radio .. the commentators opinion is the 'swich were rubbish .. and we looked far more efficient with wide players and a new midfield, plus RicHARDo .. I wanted JJ dropped .. glad he wasn't
Important win, for pretty obvious reasons. But also because we have some really difficult games coming up against Blackburn and Blackpool the next two Saturdays.
All that stuff about having already played many of the best teams is propaganda - we haven't. So far we have only come up against one team which sits in the top nine tonight and five of the seven teams we have played are in the bottom half.
That's about to change with Blackburn and Blackpool , both of whom sit in the top three. I'd say we have to target three pts in the mid-week game v Watford and regard anything we can get from the two games which sandwich it as a bonus.
On the plus side, for a side that's 18th, our goal difference of minus one is very good. GD is a good supplementary to the points table as an indication of how well or how badly a team is playing and even when we've been poor, we haven't been tonked. There are already two teams below us which have a goal deficit in double figures and Millwall's minus six after only seven games looks pretty sickly, too.

Still hope we sign a CM to improve on what we have. Don't worry, Wagstaff is back.

:-P
Let's talk about the team and the win rather than try score points on here.
Well done CP and the boys be good to hear from those there
;o)
Great and much needed result so well done CP and the team
Wish Hughes was fit, for when we have situations like these where we have to see the game out.
