  • Yeah, people come over differently in different situations (and also how much booze they've consumed), but in my (short) exposure with him he did come over as a bit of Knob- as confirmed by my mates at the time.
  • Can't say I took to him at the Sponsors Dinner last year, but really like him as a player

Aw poor bloke, bet he must be gutted!

  • Far more influential player than most of us realised. Enables others to play!
  • Done very well to come back, that achilles injury could easily have pushed him into retiring.
  • Very solid and holds his position well great to have in the team.
  • His record playing for us speaks for it's self. As for him as a person met him at the training ground last week and he was a real gent.

As soon as he was subbed last night with 10 mins to go, we started creaking & were under pressure.

Not surprised by that Covered End. Hughes experience in the middle of the park is the main reason why we are on this good run. Hope he gets at least a one year contact at the end of the season.

  • His role as the holding midfielder and breaking up the play, covering gaps and giving the ball to the more talented players is a vital role and he does it well.

This role is so under-estimated but so valuable. He's what Carrick, Barry, Mikel, Sandro, Lucas and Arteta do for the best teams in the country.

My God. He's being compared to Carrick and Arteta now. Let's sell him on to Man City while he's still breathing in case Barry has an off day.

  • I think he's like roy Keane in his prime.

I was talking about the role he plays, not the players.
