Are we sort of happy now , or more worried than ever?
And also will there be some money available for transfers , or are we still in the doo doo?
Still want to see an interview with Powell. His quotes when the new players signed were encouraging. But his body language will tell us a lot. If he's happy then I'm happy.
This kerfufle or whatever you wish to call it has been a bit of a wake up call at least to me. Since the takeover we've had pretty much back to back joy. Powells appointment. New squad, runaway winners. We've been curious to the real ownership and many have had some reservations but on the whole the Charlton family has been tranquillised. Even our pet name for our mysetery backers (if we have any) the Mysterons was comforting because the perception was that they were loaded. Suddenly the windows of our bus have been smashed and were back into the real world of football money men and we are worried for the first time, or at least many of us are. A trust movement is now gaining momentum which can only be a good thing and people are beginning to ask more questions. I don't want there to be problems behind the scenes but at least we have now been alerted and woken from a collective stupor.

Will be scrutinizing his body language on Saturday, carly.
Do players get paid for 12 months a year , I was always under the impression that they signed a contract for say 3 years but that they only got paid over 10 months and didn't get paid in the months that they didn't play or train
Or was that decades ago and that's why footballers used to play cricket
But if they don't maybe that's why the issue hasn't been with their wages
But I do believe that we had a major cash flow issue
I don't care who believed it and who didn't
I believe that TJ is def not a football man he is a hard nosed ruthless business man who has seen there is money to be made in football
The only reason he is involved is for money
If you are a football man you know that you need millions to run a club properly and you do it without wanting to see a return on that money
Bing I would disagree, a lot of people posting as in the know, do not know people at the top, they know people who work for the club.
Steve I don't want to name names. That would be unfair. Those I have in mind certainly have in the past had access to people who are in a position to know. What they don't know of course is if there is a game of poker going on and who blinked first.
Some of The first things I heard came from outside our club not inside and I was more likely to believe that than anything else I had heard tbh
When put with what I heard after it made sense to me
But right now I believe short term things Seem much better but long term who knows and that is my biggest problem nothing is transparent at these clubs that get taken over and end up in trouble
The ones that are don't seem to have as big problems or their fans finding out what the hell is going on

You may be right that Jimenez isn't a football man. I don't know one way or another. My point was that "he fancies himself as a football man" and I do have reason to believe that to be true. My intuition is that Jimenez's mindset in this respect is relevant to his commitment to the deal he has brokered and to the way he'd prefer to run the Club. In that letter respect I do fear that there is the potential for conflict with Chris Powell. Let's hope I'm wrong.
I agree entirely that he'll be aiming to see a return on his money. The odds are that he'll be disappointed. He won't be the first - or the last.
Totally right I don't see football as a good investment as there is too much to risk and too much to chamce And I reckon your right about TJ wanting to. Be seen as a football man
Sorry Bing I know most of the iKt people and they may have had info in the prem or pre takeover, but they don't have that relationship with the new board now, of that I'm sure.
NSs time will tell we have neither the money or the power to change a thing. We are as far as I'm concerned moving forwards we are a league higher and little faith needs to be placed. As a fan in the past we have been told the in and outs of nearly everything we was privlidge. Do you thank man u or man c fans know in great depth what goes on I doubt it
I know a few people on here have reservations about TJ playing Football Manager with Charlton , but surely he will have learnt from mistakes made at Newcastle?
Can those ITK and who are not embedded in a concrete pillar, in bondage or otherwise inconvenienced, say whether or not TJ and KC are still 'Bonded By Blood'?
FAO Covered End - tried writing last night but after writing long post it wouldn't actually post. Short answer from phone - no links to current board. Just looking for concrete evidence of mis-doing before we start demonising people who helped us when we needed and were instrumental in us becoming champions.

They could guess, and pass on their opinion, but they wouldn't know for certain anything unless they were tapping phone calls and sat in boardroom of course.

Not surprised if staff have been gagged. We are all emotionally attached to our football club and the are financially attached to owning and running a business. I don't see it any more complicated than that.
I'm not sure whether I care much about whether CAFC are merely an addition to 90% of the shareholder's investment portfolio or not. What I do care about is having the right choice of manager, the right blend in the squad to remain competitive whether in League 1, Chapionship or the Prem and the prospect of being able to watch the team I've loved watching now for 25 years+ every other week (at least).
Whoever invested and continue to invest have done us proud thus far - appointment of SCP (who they stuck by even when the tail end of season before last could have been deemed underwhelming by 'non football men'), shrewdly investing in a wholesale change to our squad which led to a record equalling points total and promotion from div 3 in our leagues and furthermore, if the club hit an expected or unexpected hitch a few weeks ago, the ship appears to have been steadied, even if temporarily in an attempt to continue along the path of their plan.
What I do suspect is that long after these guys/girls have sold up to new owners (when we've reached the Prem (so long as their hearts haven't dragged them closer to the club by then)), we will be grateful to them for the vision and faith they placed in really developing our academy. That is where I'm expecting great things, two fold - 1) some starlets will barely make an appearance for us, but will be sold for 6-7 figure sums to provide us with an ongoing revenue stream and 2) we will reap the benefits of having 4-6 really talented individuals in our 1st team with CAFC running through their young veins. I for one have always been proudest and totally supportive of that latter group, not least for the fact that you know that very many of them have already invested 6+ years of their lives in our club for not such great rewards and deserve their chance.
Was worried last week, more optimistic for now and hope the owners' good work continues!
Had a good sleep on this last night. Feel so much better about the way things are. I wasn't comfortable having multiple small shareholders especially if they did not have the funds. By having one major shareholder I think it does give us more stability for the time being, even if it is a precursor to being easier to sell.
1 or 2 more players in will make me feel even more comfortable.

Our obligation is more than monetary
