The only indignity that day was sitting through our teams performance. Can understand that hanging around in the cold for an hour might not be the best bet for some of our older fans, wish in these circumstances the police would use some common sense and allow those who are likely to suffer as a result of this to be allowed out.
Good news for you Soundas , I think the Police now allow the away fans out and on to South Bermondsey first and this causes much abuse from the Spanners's fans .
I went to their game against Palace before our trip to Orient last season and the Nigels had cleared the area before the Spanners were allowed on the platform ,I took LOROL to get to Leyton quickly so it didn't affect me and I was enjoying a pint in the Orient supporters club bar when my Millwall supporting mate had just reached London Bridge an hour after the game .

What you say is impossible. The Palace ultras are the deadliest fans in London. There's no way they'd clear the area before Millwall got out.

Interesting stuff Richard...and many thanks for the info....I think we (by that I mean we as a club) should try to get some verification re your findings around the time the tickets go on sale.
Probably get beat, locked in that dump, and giving them my money. Not the most appealing choice of away games, better by far to spend on a different away game.
The old bill seem to change what they are doing every home game.
For small away followings they are just let out with everyone else. (providing there isn't a mob of lads in the away end)
For slightly larger followings they seem to stop Millwall fans getting on the trains for 20 minutes or so & let the away fans get away.
For big followings, like yourselves, they wouldn't get away with closing the station to Millwall fans for that length of time to allow 3k fans to get trains, so they probably will keep you in for longer.
Rumours that South Bermondsey station could be closed that day, any truth?
Where are you getting this from ELA? Why would it be and were it to be the case, one would have to say the fixture would be unlikely to go ahead? South Bermondsey is pivotal in the transporting of large numbers of away fans to and from the area in relativley 'protected' safety.

It was shut against Blackpool and they found the ground ok. With many Charlton fans being able to walk to New Cross to go home or to Bermondsey jubilee, it shouldn't be a problem if it was shut...
Hated last time, but will 100% be there again just for the comedy factor of the 12 year olds in the corner flapping there arms about and taking there shumpers off as they go all Danny dyer on us
Not even in pre season and you've got people scare mongering over Millwall. Ffs!
SE10...it's exactly why I feel so humliated being locked in...... I've never needed bloody police protection from them or anyone come to that.......being locked in for my own safety.....what a bleedin joke! No scaremongering from me........you can be sure of that!
I am certainly no wolly thinking liberal (quite the opposite - right wing Daily Mail reader) but I still think it is an infringment of your civil rights that you are kept behind for 30-45 mins. No other sport or pastime are you not allowed to leave the premises when the entertainment ends. I realise that it is supposed to be for my safety and I have no problems behind for 5-10 mins whilts the old bill make sure anu hoolies have dispersed - but last time we played them it was gone half past 5 when we finally were allowed out.

Totally agree, SoundAsa£.
Said last time that I'd never give them my money again but hate to miss a match. Think that our Club will do their best to get some answers on this one so we know what to expect and can make an informed decision.
A year older now, don't think my blood pressure could take anothet lock in !
Bluddy stupid part was holding us for all that time and then letting our coach out without a police escort (in contrast to the convoluted journey in). Being stuck at the traffic lights outside the home pub was hairy and made a total mockery of all explanations that safety was top of the agenda. Absolutely bloomin' farcical in fact. Hopefully the club will ask for some assurances but there's no way I'm going to miss seeing WSS's demonstration of climbing skills, seriously impressive it was. Also enjoyed the impromptu game of hatball ;-)
Hmm , umming and erring about this one , my 2 kids are desperate to go , but its a bit like taking them for a day trip to the local prison .. and paying for the privilege.
They can keep me in all fecking night as long as we beat them.
I bet the ob will let us out straight after the whistle when this happens. The biggest joke of that day was, the ob telling us they couldn't find the key to open the gate.
See this is one of the reasons why we get the reputation we do amongst other fans. Moaning about not being able to go home at 4.45PM on the dot.
You reckon you don't need police protection from Millwall fans. I disagree personally. If they let elderly people out, how is that going to go down with everyone else who can't be let out. Not very well.
This is a huge derby for us considering we rarely play Millwall, and the big talking point is about what time the bloody gates open at the end!!

Definitely going.
PMSL
Palace vs Brighton
West Ham vs Chelsea
can see one or two games being moved.

Hopefully 5 months is enough time for you to decide if you are going or not.
