  • I think Ruddy is not an international keeper.....admittedly only seen norwich highlights this season but he seems to be a big weak link in their side.

Would take Bent and Crouch too. Cant believe Andy Carroll is touted.

Looking at this we have absolutely no chance this summer ha ha.
  • Hart Foster Green

Johnson (G) Richards Terry Cahill Lescott Baines Cole

Johnson (A) Ince Shelvey Oxlade-Chamberlain Lampard Gerrard Parker Barry

    Carroll Rooney Young Holt Walcott
  • Whatever ha. Wouldnt take an injured striker though whos been out 4 months. Yer maybe Crouch over Caroll or Holt.
The thing about Ruddy is it dosent really matter as 2nd choice never gets a look in yet alone third choice.
  • agree with rodney...

bent for welbeck and crouch for carroll.
  • Do u think Ince would get ahead or Matt Phillips (Blackpool) then?

In that case we may as well only take two keepers & take an extra outfield player

Take them both .. usually only about 16 out of the 23 get onto the field anyway. Get the promising young players acclimatised to the 'international environment'
  • Why Terry? He's half the player he used to be.

And that's before you even look at the baggage that follows him.
  • You HAVE to take three keepers, the squads were made bigger so you could take 3

Rules state there must be 3 keepers.

Also am did I dream this but I thought Foster ruled himself out of future squads?

  • No Chris Solly from anyone?
  • take ben hamer as third keeper, actually forget that take me as third keeper cos isnnt a chance in hell on getting any gametime.
  • Goalkeepers:
Joe Hart,Ben Foster. (Don't really know who as a third choice, anyone i guess coz they'll never get a game)

    Defenders:
John Terry,Ashley Cole,Joleon Lescott, Micah Richards ,Phil Jagielka,Leighton Baines. Glen Johnson, Phil Jones (Educate the youth!)

    Midfielder:
Steven Gerrard, James Milner, Jack Wilshere, Ashley Young,Scott Parker(captain),Gareth Barry, Adam Johnson. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gareth Barry

    Strikers:
Wayne Rooney, Grant Holt, Darren Bent, Peter Crouch,
  • Goalkeepers:
Joe Hart, Robert Green, David Stockdale.

John Terry, Ashley Cole, Joleon Lescott, Kyle Walker, Rio Ferdinand, Micah Richards, Glen Johnson.

    Steven Gerrard,Frank Lampard,Ashley Young,Scott Parker(captain),Gareth Barry,Theo Walcott,Adam Johnson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Wayne Rooney, Darren Bent, Jermaine Defoe, Danny Welbeck, Peter Crouch.
  • I really hope Holt gets a chance. It would be very encouraging for lower league strikers who feel they could emulate his success. I think Ricky Lambert may get the same praise Holt is getting this year, next year.
  • Stockdale should go as one of the keepers
  • Starting XI:

    Hart

    Walker Lescott Jagielka Baines

    Chamberlain Parker Barry Young

    Rooney
    Holt

    Either a 4-4-2 or a 4-2-3-1 formation

    Hart, Foster, Ruddy

Walker, Jones, Jagielka, Cahill, Lescott, Cole, Baines

Ox, Walcott, Parker, Barry. Gerrard, Lampard, Milner, Young

    Rooney, Bent, Carroll, Holt, Welbeck

Would only take 7 defenders as Jones can play two postions and allows another striker which I think we need with Rooney's ban and England strikers recent injury record at major tournaments.

  • Hart, Foster, Stockdale
Cole, Baines, Walker, Lescott, Richards, Jones, Terry, Jagielka
    Gerrard, Milner, Barry, Parker, Lampard
    Young, Walcott, Johnson
    Rooney, Carroll, Welbeck, Hooper?

  • Foster isn't interested. Too scarred by Capello it seems.

  • Has everyone forgotten that Terry tried to lead a revolt against the manager at the last world cup?

    Get rid of him.

He is, in my opinion. The ring leader and route of the problem within the England boys club.
  • And while I'm at it.

Anyone who has retired from international football should remain exactly that.

It should be an honour to even be in the squad. And people who have a hissy fit because they are not 1st choice do not have enough pride.

    Couldn't agree more.
  • Hart foster ( regarding roy gets him out of his petty fit) ruddy
richards walker johnson lescott ferdinand jones cole baines
parker barry lampard gerrard oxlaide chamberlin young walcott andy johnson
    rooney holt bent crouch.
  • I reckon we need to get rid of the big names/ ' golden generation' players as they just don't care anymore and think that they can just walk into the team without trying.

Agree to an extent, certainly Terry is one where the negatives outweigh the positives of including him, especially as he has looked past it this season. Lampard however has been excellent for Chelsea in their big games and also played well against Spain last November and with his experience, worth taking.

Roy has to find a balance, CM is an area we are weak and could do with the experience, at the same time it is a great opportunity to give some of the next generation a chance.

Not good news coming out of WHL on Parker tonight. Having an injection in his achilles and with rest, they HOPE he'll be ok, if not, he'll be booked in for an op which rules him out of the Euro's.

i hope you mean ADAM Johnson???? No room for ex palace monkeys
  • That is really bad news, Parker gives us great hope of being able to stop the big teams playing their way through England and giving us the balance we never have with Gerrard and Lampard in CM. With Wilshire also out, the CM looks even weaker.
  • Wouldnt of mattered if wilshere was fit anyway. He surely wouldnt have made the difference quiet an over rated player.
