I've also heard some people drive at 31 mph in built up areas, have been known to drop litter & got drunk and been somewhat boisterous on occasions. Tut tut.

To be fair to Soton, that was one of the fastest pitch invasions I've ever seen. From 23 people to full in four seconds.

Rothko, your 'plastic' comment about me doesn't make sense.

I was at Carlisle, I have just got back from Preston. Infact I have been at 75 percent of all away games this season.

    Care to explain?

Are they allowed or not ?

    No...

What are the consequences to individuals and clubs ?
    Bans and fines
What if there are a couple of thousand people ?
Make sure you are not one of those who get caught...

What if the stewards make no attempt to stop people getting on?
The company that supply the stewards might lose the contract and maybe individual stewards will lose their jobs?

Difference if it is home or away ?
    So?

Why are CAFC so definite about not wanting it to have happened at the Wycombe game when we won the League ?
This should be about allowing the team to celebrate a great season, why run on the pitch and spoil it for everyone? Or do you want to the centre of attention?

Do you think Southampton or Reading were so determined ?
Both teams had just won something, just as we had at Carlisle, regardless two wrongs and all that.

Why are so many of our fans, or at least those who take the effort to post on here, so against it ?

Do you think Southampton and Reading should expect a fine and or ban as a result of their fans enjoyment of their success ?
Who cares? Whether you approve of the rule or not just enjoy the moment, our first promotion in ages, a great season and I can't see why anyone would want to run on the pitch delay the celebrations for everyone and possibly get the club in trouble.
You forgot this question BFR :

Why are you such a tosser?

You obviously have no passion for Charlton or football or sport in general.
If you were not moved by the scenes at Southampton today and didn't have even the slightest inclining that we could be in the same position this time next year than you are even sadder than I ever thought you were. Which by the way was sadder than Sad Jack Mc Sad, professor of Sadness at Sad college Cambridge

I did offer you some friendly advice the other day that you should see somebody about your dyslexia. Sadly but not surprisingly you have clearly ignored this. If you are going to dig people out can I suggest that you do not leave yourself open to criticism? The alternative is to use spell / grammar check.

Pitch invasions at the right time are all well and good. A pitch invasion 3 weeks after we've gained promotion is just plain nonsense. Carlisle was the moment. The moment's gone. Let's get over this pitch invasion garbage!

What Olly said. I know it's been a tough season with there not being much to complain about, so everyone relax and enjoy next week and look forward to next season and who knows maybe this time next year we'll have a spontaneous pitch invasion when we gain promotion and relegate Palace at the same time....

Seems to me that our fans are angry and passionate enough to find some thing to have a row about no matter how well the team is doing!

Back to the original post which at no time encouraged what would be an inspontaneous (word?) invasion for the Hartlepool game. The game in question was Wycombe when we still had something to play for.

My question was why is it acceptable at other grounds, but not ours - it appears it is because the average supporter is indeed less inclined or less able to show that sort of passion and the club knows that - let's see what happens at Hillsborough if they go up next weekend. Do you imagine there will be debates on line about it in advance ? Our constant threads and comments about flasks, blankets and a refusal to shout, sing, stand move or breath confirms that.

Also, digging people out for spelling, grammar and dyslexia is poor and says more about you than sounding clever @Deadred

When we got in the playoffs against palace last game we got on the pitch remember a steward waving a corner flag to celebrate.

Call me boring but fans should stay in the stands - especially next week when a presentation and events are being organised- it is extremely selfish to put yourself above that. You can sing, cheer and clap just as well from the stands where you belong -if you want to go on the pitch be a player or coach not a fan.

So what penalty or punishment do you believe would be appropriate for Southampton, Reading and us at Carlisle ? All 3 events clearly crossed your line of acceptable behaviour.

If there is a pitch invasion on Saturday this would delay the presentation of the trophy, also the the players will probally have their kids with them (Stevens with triple width pushchair :-)) sharing in their fathers success, so for that reason I don't think a mass pitch invasion will be allowed as it would be dangerous and spoil the presentations. I cannot not see any way I could get on the pitch from my lofty upper west perch.

A spontaneous pitch invasion is a wonderful outburst of joy. Call me boring, but it always seems more appropriate at an away match. At home, unless it was say a play off semi-final win, or unexpected result that pushes you into definite promotion I'd feel a it of a prune wheeling about on the pitch with no particular place to go but back to the stands to wait for a team return ad promenade.

There has at no time in this thread been mention of anyone going on the pitch vs Hartlepool - the question was around the Wycombe game. Do people not read previous comments before offering their advice ?

I think you'll find that cafctom posted in the future tense. A post that you 100% agreed with apparently...

If you want to go on the pitch as your agenda clearly seems to be, fine, do it and be prepared to face the consequences. But you won't though will you? It seems that what you want is to creep onto a pitch that's already full so theres no risk to you personally.

You can understand impromptu'd displays of joy when a club has something to celebrate. I just wish the FA did.

But, what I can't understand is why some clubs do it as a matter of course at the end of the season. For example, Barnsley. Why on earth was there a "celebration" at the end of their game yesterday? After all, their survival was sorted out last week!?! I just don't get it.

Bournemouth Addick, look back at my post. It is OBVIOUS I was referring to the Wycombe game, it is stated clearly in the last sentence!

The only part in future tense was regarding what the FA would/wouldnt do.
  • I love the fact that people are getting wound up about feck all

Good job we won the league or this place would've been horrific

The club have asked supporters to stay off the pitch so that everyone can enjoy the players being given the trophy and to do a lap of honour with their children.

Is it too much to ask that we keep off the pitch and respect the request of those that have given us so much this year?
  • That was not the question ,

The question was based around the wycombe game

And thats why so many on here are bickering lol
