Don't care if it turned out to be a rubbish game. Don't care if the ref ruined it. Don't care if we didn't play 'all that'.
That win was all about cojones and team spirit. Togetherness gets you through a pressured, backs to wall away game, particularly when down in numbers and your rivals turning up the heat.
a big relief to get through this one, after the most ridiculous card-happy reffing in a long time - the addicks go marching on, another step closer....
After the pathetic showing Oldham put on at The Valley I was expecting a physical match but I didn't quite think it would go this far. Another 3 points and one game closer to the end. Happy days
Win on Monday and we will have 91 points - no team have ever not been promoted getting 92 points!
Not yet, but I can see it happening this season. With a handful of clubs that are head and shoulders above the rest I can see someone being sorely disappointed. Thankfully, I don't think it will be us.
Hope updates were ok.....it was difficult today.....thanks to @Paddy17 and Seth as well........off for a glass of vino now.....not sure if I can do the match thread on Monday as I'm out in Bedford but hope to make it back in time......perhaps someone can be on stand-by to cover for me just in case?
Great result. 5 point gap after Sheff Wednesday's win was looking a bit too close for comfort pre-match.
Wasn't at the game but sounds like Kermogant took yet another battering but yet again rose to the challenge. Got to be one of the signings of the season at any level. The bloke's a soldier got so much respect for him, gotta admire the way he just gets on with it with very little moaning and whining - certainly not your typical onion chomper! Wish we'd discovered him when he was younger.
Player of the year Solly/Kermogant dilemma may have just swung in the Frenchman's favour.
Seth says: "It's come to me in a dream. We have yet to see Charlton's goal of the season, and at Oldham, there is going to be a highly controversial refereeing/officials' incident."
Mind you, he could be wrong.
That's from page 1 of the match thread. Prescient.

Safe to say our team has far bigger cojones than many of our fans.
One of those games that was alwasy going to be a battle, just look who manages them for starters. But our lads sounded well up for it and never gave in or lost their discipline and shape which given the provocation is brilliant. Chris earned his corn today, having to change formation at least twice and will take a lot of lessons from this as well.

Well done lads, well done.
Fantastic. Another game whittled away and still 6 and 8 points clear.
Can't wait to get out of this division so that we no longer have to play these dire cloggy northern teams on their egg-rollered turnip patches again.
promotion is going to be sealed next saturday

as the song said
WE ARE GOING UP AS CHAMPIONS BECAUSE THIS TEAM IS FULL OF GUTTS AND BALLS AS HARD AS MINE
