  • There were so many stupid predictions that we were going to win. I was praying for one and knew when I checked here after being out all day it would be a defeat. And so it was. They just need to fight fight fight fight for every tackle and every ball to be won like their lives depend on it. Literally dont let the other team get a sniff. We cannot fail or throw this away now.
  • Huddersfield will go above Wednesday if they win their game in hand. We are not playing well, I really fear for us we didn't play particularly well against Yeovil.
  • don't shoot enough, try and walk the ball in the net. playing players out of position (morrison, pritchard upfront). 7 more games to go.

Heard from a mate at the game that the ref tucked us right up
    Your mate's wrong.

You were obviously at the game so I bow to your informed opinion.

But you now say that you weren't there ....!!

  • It is possible to win without playing well, at this time of the season its about results not performances.
  • Not a great performance, but good enough for a point. Penalty (no complaints) and one decent save by Hamer was all Huddersfield had and Charlton had one decent save from BWP and two headers that should have been on target. Hollands? had a decent chance as well, hit over the bar. Sending off deserved, but the tackle could have been a straight red and some other guy piled into Russel and gave him a whack. 100% straight red. Missed Yann.
  • For the first time this season I am starting to worry. Anybody else spend most of their week staring at the remaining fixtures, going from "we should win most of these" to "but they've got that player and if he plays well"? As someone touched on above I really don't like the loan market, except in emergencies. It's only human nature, deep down you just can't care as much as contracted players.

7 days is a long time to wait to get rid of this feeling. L Orient are on a shocking run, have lost their best player (Dawson) and can't buy a goal. But have 3 ex Charlton players up front......gulp.
The thing about loans is that you are damned if you take them, and damned if you don't. Clearly JJ is injured and was playing when not fully fit. Do we promote a kid from the reserves who is not ready, bring in Evina and play him out of position or get an experienced player in? Doing the latter worked on Tuesday, albeit in slightly fortuitous circumstances. Another loanee also scored on Tuesday - so two loanees scored in one crucial end of season match. Yet in this thread I read that loanees are a big risk and should be avoided...

I appreciate that acquiring loanees at this stage of the season is a risk - by definition these are players not wanted by their current teams and are likely not to be fully match fit. But there are advantages, they make useful scapegoats when we lose.

  • We weren't good but the ref was worse.
  • Just to be clear, my loans comment isn't a dig at Russell, he is one of those loans who I believe is playing for a contract once he is released by Preston. His effort can't be faulted tbf.
  • we are still top and whatever the other teams say they would all like to be in our position, win our home games and we will be champions , up to the fans to turn up the noise and get us over the finishing line, apparently we had another oh yes another shite ref today.

Chill fellow Addicks all the worrying and over analysing isn't going to make the blindest bit of difference. If as they should Sheff Utd win their game in hand v Chesterfield we will still be 8 points clear of third place with 7 games to go and a better goal difference. We all would have taken that at the start of the season. We have 4 home games left versus Orient, Wycombe, Walsall and Hartlepools and if we can't win 3 of those we don't deserve to go up. So from someone with 50+ years experiencing the highs and lows watching our beloved team, chill we can do nothing about it except let it all unfold with fingers and toes crossed. Keep the faith and encouraging them.
  • On the loanees it makes sense to get cover in just before the loan window closes.

Had we played Wagstaff/Pritchard/Green/Evina on the left and lost today we'd be saying why didn't we get a proper left winger in on loan.

Missing two very key players today..........Jacko & Kermt.
Both have a really huge influence......get those two back in the side ASAP and we'll be OK I reckon.
  • All will be ok folks we broke the back of this league ages ago we will win the next 3 and celebrate at Carlise mark my words
  • Will 10 pts see us home?

Loans in general. It can't be good for team morale when a team starts having too may loan players ahead of contracted players (was Green dropped today for poor attitude?)

Although I do think N'Guessan is rubbish ;-)

  • I'm still totally confident we will be champions.

    Exactly.

  • Win 3 and draw 4 gives us 95 points, surely that is enough
  • Sounds weird and may get shot down but Rusel being sent off may be a blessing in disguise. Hopefully Powell Will now play a midfield of Waggy,Cook,Stephens and Hollands. I think Hayes coming back into the team may bring out the best in Stephens. Never really been a fan of Rusel and it's not just after today thought his always looked slow on the ball and his passing lets him down a bit.
  • There are different types of loanee .Wycombe didn't complain about Hayes scoring 6 goals in 6 games ,we were happy with N'Guessan on Tuesday when he scored his fluky goal .

I'm interested in Lee Cook this time around as cover for JJ he is as probably as good as we could get and will be playing for a contract for next season . He clearly will not feature again at QPR.

I went to the Orient V Massive game today as it is only a 20 minute walk from my home and I would hope we should have enough about us to see the O's off .

They do not have any left footed players outfield and were out muscled for most of the game .Semedo played his spoiler role and Llera sprayed the ball well from the back ,it surprised me that Orient didn't try to expose his lack of pace more with Campbell-Ryce playing behind the lone striker Lisbie but they did what we did at the Valley earlier in the season and went long ball for much of the game thereby playing into the massives hands .
  • Boogica we are going to royally fcuk this up

Look at the pic of Russel in this article he looks a bit angry

I couldn't get there today and am awaiting a first hand report from number one son but from the radio commentary the lad Kaye who got the yellow for doing Russel should have been booked earlier for doing Waggy and been sent off as well but thats your luck. What is disappointing is that a senior pro like Russel has kicked out like a petulant teenager (his 2nd sending off in 5 games!) and made our task of getting back into the game extremely difficult. The ten men put up a gallant fight and SCP will take positives from that alone. Just not our day and we move on to Orient at home next week COYR!

given our form i dont think we are going to go 7 unbeaten
