Just reading up on Palace's lot, not that I needed any more reason to laugh at them..
"We have come to the decision that there will be no HF going to the Ipswich away game as an active group. This is due to the ridiculous pricing of the game to Palace supporters – charging a disgusting amount on adult ticket to supporters turning up on the day. To make things worse, Ipswich are allowing their home fans to buy adult tickets for £10.
When the HF was first formed nearly 6 years ago, one of the reasons was our passion of hatred against the way modern football has become and we are against the way the working class man is being priced out of the game."
I don't like using the acronym "lol" but "active group" lol. And NEARLY SIX YEARS AGO. So desperately clinging to that ever so slightly higher number. Meanwhile Hadjuk Split's Ultras have been going sixty.
And of course there's the fact that they've charged us and no doubt other fans £35 in the past.

Also, Will and Jeremy don't get their pocket money until the day after, and, of course, our brother Nigel is still grounded following the bovver he got involved in after the home game against Barnsley which caused him to be late home for his tea. – charging a disgusting amount on adult ticket to supporters turning up on the day. When the HF was first formed nearly 6 years ago, one of the reasons was our passion of hatred against the way modern football has become because we didn't have any mates, had no chance of getting a bird and thought there was less chance of getting a kicking if we mobbed up and started wandering the streets like a massive mobile yellowhead, and we are against the way the working class man acne-riddled teenager is being priced out of the game."
You've also got to take into account a city's demographic. For example, Napoli is traditionally the most dangerous place to go as an Italian away fan, but they have a huge number who live in poverty. The same goes for say, Boca in Argentina where their fans are traditionally from the poorest areas of Buenos Aires.
It showed that this was the case yesterday. all of their fans were in the stadium at 3.30pm. 4 hours before the match starts. some could of taken the day off, but i reckon a fair few just dont have jobs to go too. They love their team, and so going there to cheer for 4 hours would be an escape from the poverty they face daily.
ALL of them? What about all the ones trying to bully small groups of Chelsea?
I had a Palace fan call me mate, ask how we got on and wished me luck for the rest of the season at London Bridge....in fact he was ultra friendly and I didnt like it one bit...hope they can back to shouting abuse at me next week as I am used to that...
I have just discovered I am already an Ultra, guilty pleasure for me are Internazionale since the overhyped, under productive link up thing with them in the early 90's.
I visit the San Siro once a year with a Chelsea mate for a game (it really is the most church like stadium I have been in) anyway he is a photographer and sent me this today from a vist around 9 months ago http://animoto.com/play/hQJVINo1yQv6wclfrX0k8w
The song is a camp version of the Inter anthem and I am the fat bald one in a few of the shots, anyway Forza Inter and Up the Addicks!

I went to Roma V Lazio a few years back, it was a fantastic experience, all be it very intimidating. I remember a group of Lazio ultras walking towards us with sticks and weapons, with scarves over their faces looking for a tear up. I got tear gassed and the shock of my life when bangers went off next to me. Our tickets didn't turn up from some online ticket office so we ended up buying tickets from a tout outside the ground. We asked for Roma end and when trying to get in was told they were Lazio tickets much to my frustration. However my mate who speaks a little Italian managed to talk to a steward who just seemed to let us in, slightly different to the security at the Valley lol.
The Athmosphere was unbelievable and really enjoyed the experience despite the earlier issues. However under no circumstances should we copy this scene. It is unbelievably corrupt in Italy and most clubs are pretty much run by the Ultras. There was talk of the Lazio ultras turning up at training and threatening the players after a poor performance & threatening the manager because he tried to sign Cafu and they didn't want a black player (let alone manager). Does anybody else remember when the Roma Lazio game was abandoned because their was a rumour circiling the ground that a child had been run over by the police outside. The Roma Ultras decided to walk on the pitch and told Francesco Totti to tell the referee to abandon the game. Unbelievable scenes, ones that are better off in Italy and not over here.
On a lighter note Roma won 2-0 on my visit and now have a real soft spot for Roma.
