I am not saying this is fully representaitve as it is only a couple of examples. On 606 over the weekend I only heard Hudders fans agreeing with the clubs decision to get rid of Clarke. The general consensus was that he and the team had gone stale, the football was poor, he had spent plenty of money and had plenty of money to spend. He did some very strange things like leaving their top goalscorer on the bench in the play-off final. It was also said that it's very easy just to look at stats and question the move by the chairman without knowing the facts and Rooney and Ferdinand were both sited for this.
Huddersfield chairman Dean Hoyle has further explained the reasoning behind Lee Clark's sacking, saying he 'lost faith' in the manager's ability to guide the Terriers to promotion.
Clark was appointed as manager in December 2008 and backed by Hoyle through two unsuccessful play-off campaigns.
But the 39-year-old was shown the door last week in what many saw as a shock move by the club, with Huddersfield then sitting third in League One.
Tough
Former Leeds boss Simon Grayson was appointed as his successor on Monday and, while Hoyle admits letting Clark go was a tough decision, he feels it was the right thing for the club.
"It was a very simple conclusion in the end - I had lost faith in Lee's ability to get the club into the top two," Hoyle told the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.
"Also, I didn't believe that if it came to a play-off final he could do it. The pressure would maybe have been too much.
"With automatic promotion I fully expected us to move on this season but, from Christmas, or from mid-December, I just didn't see us doing it.
"This season, so far, we have drawn 13 matches from winning positions, we have had continuous squad rotation and I voiced my concerns.
"While it may come as a surprise to many, I voiced my concerns to Lee and his staff long before we parted company."
Hoyle feels with the quality of players in their squad, Huddersfield should be pushing for automatic promotion in the top two.
"Lee has brought in some incredibly gifted and talented players, we have an incredible squad and I don't doubt at all that they can win promotion," he said.
Unacceptable
"I believe we have the best squad of footballers in this division and that's why third place, 13 points behind the leaders, is unacceptable.
"I wanted Lee to succeed more than anybody and I backed him with everything, even two more players in the transfer window, but I realised it wasn't going to be and we needed a change to give ourselves the best opportunity with the right manager, and Simon is that man."
The chairman is confident Clark will not be out of employment for long, adding: "Lee has worked extremely hard for this club and put his life and soul into it and I'm sure he will find another club he can take forward - I really do wish him the best."

Football for a fiver day as well - a good performance always encourages supporters to come back again for the full price games, and I'm sure Bury's home gates will benefit just as Rochdale and Reading's did before them.
sad state of affairs for Scottish football; two managers have left clubs to join league 1 clubs down here. Not to mention that a Charlton reserve is in the Kilmarnock match day squad.
