  • bye bye clark. parkinson situation written all over it. only time will tell if its the right decision. huddersfield fans will take comfort they have a decisive board or will find it a bit strange and concerning they waited till febuary before pulling the trigger.
  • Interesting article here from The Independent, saying Clark can have no complaints and basically has had it coming :

I think it's possible Warnock could be named as early tomorrow, then watch from the stands on Sat and assume control at the training ground on Monday morning. Timing will depend on salary negotiations being concluded satisfactorily, though.

I'd back a Warnock-led 'Udders to pip Shef U for second. They've got a very decent run in; of their away games only Stevenage looks tricky and although they still have to play us and Shef Wed, both games are at home.

Got a sneaking feeling that this ''shock'' sacking may yet prove to be the most inspired managerial change of the season.

  • a perceptive article .. as I've said elsewhere on here, Clark was lucky to survive this long after last season's disappointment
  • "A host of players were signed with little to no regard on how they were going to line up and this is the biggest criticism of Clark. He never gave the impression that he knew his best XI nor even had an idea of how his players should be arranged."

Now which Charlton manager does that remind you of?

    Certainly not the current one!
  • Interesting article that, IA. Changed my pov.

    Agree.
  • It's changed my opinion too.
  • See

I was right either that jorno is a secret Charlton life poster or lurker or i was right about clark, as soon as i heard he was gone i said this

“Play offs lottery for the 2nd time even with a 25 goal a season hitman is not acceptable, he has been supported to the hilt and only survived so far IMO because they were unbeaten for a million games “

“A month or so ago the huddersfield chairman was in love with Clarke, something must have happend , can't believe this is based on results”

“Too many draws in that calendar year , 4 wins in 10 not a great return but not too poor , “

“What was their results against the top 6 so far this season

Draws too many games, thats what i thought the reason would be and you can bet your arse Lee Clarke got all Mardy with the owner whenever it was mentioned,”

Clark was there 4 years and everyone knew that the 1 nil loss would leave them 4 points behind Sheff u with 16 to play should Sheff u win their game in hand

Dont underestimate the fact that Clark and Smegson both will have said to their board, chairman and fans and players that we will have a blip and they will catch us

our win wouldve put us 15 points ahead of them should we win our games in hand and they wouldve all said that MK would get something from us Tuesday night as MK have an away record second only to us

His record of getting out of this division in 4 years is poor , Playoffs is not success when you out spend your rivals, they spent 1 million quid on 1 player remember and they wouldve increased Rohdes wages before Jan to keep the wolves from the door

Clark deserves no sympathy one of footballs nearly men at the moment and his stock will drop like Gary Johnsons just as quickly

It looks like as soon as Warnock was sacked at QPR that Clark's days were numbers.

This looks like a classic case of "How would you fancy managing us if Lee Clark were to leave?" from the HTFC chairman to Colin W+nker.

The sacking becomes more understandable and far less risky if you have an absolute top class lower league manager like Warnock to come in.

  • Would love to see Warnock take Huddersfield up in a Mendonca-esque fashion by pipping the team he supported as a boy. After that i couldnt really give a ..
  • Hudds are 4 points off Sheffield u already the game in hand would make them 7 behind

Too big a gap for Hudds to influence the out come with 16 to go 12 behind us already

    Play offs loom
  • Warnock now in talks with Wolves, so if that was the 'Udders plan, it may be about to backfire on them.
  • Reckon he'd love the thought of keeping Wolves up and QPR going down instead.
  • I would love it if Colin Wanker got the job.
  • I wish he was going to Wolves, IA.....that's why I put a few quid on it.

Unfortunately, it looks quite likely he's off to Elland Rd....apparently the odds are plumetting as we speak.

  • From Cawley: Neil Warnock will be the new Huddersfield manager. Just had that from an excellent source.
Another one spot on Rich. Well done mate.
  • Well, Powell wasn't Charlton's first choice so may Hudds will still get someone good but big blow if they put all their eggs in one basket.

Leaves door open for Curbs at Wolves, P'raps.

Top work Fella. You can't get them all correct.
