Addams family useless fact, my Great great uncle Charles Addams was the political cartoonist for New Yorker Magazine and he wrote the original comic strip, before they emigrated to the US they came from Camberwell. My lad is called George Addam Harris as the UK branch of the family are getting fewer....irrelevent but true.
My favourite childhood programmes - Rentaghost, we are the champions and Jim'll Fix It, dislikes when they came on were - Out of Town with Jack Hargreaves, Crown Court and Nationwide
bernard Ashley was the head of charlton manor - That's were I went He went to Roan - As did I He's a prolific writer, I think he wrote a couple of books that were turned into TV series. Running Scared springs to mind.
I seem to remember one called The Whirlybirds Stingray (with Troy Tempest, Phones and Marina) Space Patrol (I hated the theme music - used to frighten me) Joe 90 Mr Pastry Land of the Giants Journey To The Centre of The Earth Hectors House Mary Mungo and Midge Poggles Wood The Clangers Camberwick Green Trumpton Space Family Robinson Do Not Adjust Your Set
Stingray: "Anything can happen in the next half hour" and "What are we gonna do, Troy, what are we gonna do?" and the beautiful but enigmatic "Marina"
Alias Smith & Jones "In all the banks and trains they robbed, they never shot anyone" They were wanted men but if they stayed out of trouble long enough the governor was going to pardon them: "Wish the governor would let a few more people in on our secret"
Cannonball (about the same time as Whirlybirds) Flicka The Count of Monte Cristo The Silver Sword Sword of Freedom William Tell Sir Lancelot Ivanhoe (played by a young Roger Moope)
