I am a little dissapointed that one of the directors has not stepped up to the 'plate' to try and organise something, I for one hope they do?
To be fair, I am happy with the West Stand they built with the money that came along thanks to the hattrick...
  • Totally agree Jimmy 85......
Which is why I remain dissapointed that as of yet nothing has been organised, to enable fans to contribute towards some of these items?. I did email the club, and was assured that my email was passed on to the chairman. As a fan I simply stated that the club should consider the request. If I get a reply I will post the response if the chairman has no issues with that. I am not in the habit of writing to the chairman, or anyone else at CAFC. To me they are important items, that the club hopefully will be able to secure some of the items for future 'heritage value'.
Of course it is up to the club how to deal with this matter, I just gave a view on how important I value these items?
  • How much did they go for and more importantly who won them?
  • Thought the auction was due to finish on the 23rd....apparently not.
  • Clive's auction ended on Saturday night. The bidder who won the play off collection and the medals is apparently letting the club display them at the Valley. Really good news.
  • Hmmmm and I wonder who that might be!!

Well done to that kind and generous person. :-)
  • Yep, very generous. Well done Mr X
  • home at last.

Well done to that man or woman who paid for them and then loaned them to the Club

Best bit of news for quite a while.........great gesture and I hope the correct solution was found in the end for one and all.
Would have preferred the club to have bought them outright, but hey.....as you say Henry...Given that Clive was prepaired to let them go, they're now in the right place.
  • Well done Mr X or Mrs X :o)

Glad to see they went to a Charlton fan.

  • Great news.

    This was our finest hour.
  • Very canny - you own them, but someone else pays to keep them secure/insured!
    ;o)

I thank you, you can't beat a nice corduroy jacket when you have to meet Mr Slater, Mr Kavanagh and of course Mr Powell.

But it wasn't me what cough up the dosh for the Mendonca stuff.

  • Well done the buyer, I for one would like to buy you a drink to thank you for buying a crucial bit of Charlton heritage.
I never did receive a response from the club to my email, ( which I know was passed on by a club director to the chairman) and I am delighted that future fans will be able to enjoy these items for all. Hope Clive got what he wanted for the items, so a good result, but a little dissapointed not to have received a response.
  • Im guessing it was a lifer who bought Mendonca's memorabilia then.....
