  • Tostesterone ?
    however it's spelt .. teacher
Is that a new kind of Toblerone?
  • I now hope that they slip into the play offs and get beat. I also hope that we ban their supporters at the valley should we ever have the misfortune to come across them again in the future.
  • I came out and saw some trouble, was a bit edgey but I missed the guy getting punched, saw the guy getting arrested though. Agree with singing, it doesn't help to wind them up but they were up for it whether we were singing or not.

Got on the tram and all appeared ok, no atmosphere and spoke with a few Wednesday boys that seemed ok and helpful about the trains and where to get off.
  • When i walked out there was a few singing and the boy holding the ripped out seat above his head didnt help.

Feel sorry for people wanting to go watch a game with their kids and they dont feel safe exiting the ground.

Its all a bit pathetic really, personally i have enough excitement in my life that i dont feel the need to have a ruck at football.

i dunno how they do either, i was emotionally drained after that 90 minutes. spose the toot does a trick for them.
  • But we are not cockneys!!
I am .... even got the walk
  • So the Wednesday firm have sunk as low as to start attacking innocents exiting the game. No wonder the blades don't bother with 'em anymore.

  • SLL - always been told that the blades rule that City. Can see why.
Shame as I always had a soft spot for Wednesday, as I think they have a cracking support, but that was out of order.
Every club has idiots who have a pop at innocents, but these boys milling around were old boys. Maybe I'm doing some of them a dis-service and some were just milling to see if we had anyone about, esp after the cup game. The ones who streamed in and were in people faces were just scum though.

    Grow up!

  • Wednesday are fat northern faggotts who can`t hold it together when fronted by a decent mob. They are okay when it comes to bullying families and other fans who are not the slightest bit interested in that side of things. They are just upset because they got a right proper slap at Charlton when they celebrated putting us down back in 99 and they got an even better slap at their place in the FA Cup game.

Those 2 instances sum them up entirely! Give it the big un and get done every time!
  • Oh dear, oh dear.

Grown men fighting over football clubs. I don't know what's worse, the actual fighting or talking about it afterwards.

  • Just people exercising the right to defend themselves in the face of hostility and violence! Is that okay with you?
  • As we drove there we was walking back to the car, all the fans via the valley express as they drove past us gave us some abuse through the windows thinking we was wendy fans, i thought that was pretty funny.
  • But we are not cockneys!!
My son is a Cockney and a Charlton fan. I'm sure a few others are. You can be a south of the river Cockney.

    Born at Guys?

Arsenal are the only true cockneys...
  • pi55 off aint no bells in the Eiffel Tower
  • I was born in Islington - maybe I am a cockney - hope not - I don't want to be one!
  • That map suggests it depends which way the wind is blowing.
Not that it's at all relevant to this thread.

Pretty sure I'd read somewhere that wind was a factor and that you were more likely to hear it further north of the river than south.

    What?
I was trying to explain that not all the Wednesday milling about that I saw were neccesarily looking for innocents to have a pop at. They may have been looking for like minded people.
Is that okay Chirpy, for me to express my opinion on something, that I witnessed?
  • me and robbo on the wing plus 2 others came out of the ground after the game and we were expecting some hostilities from the home fans ,during the game their fans to our left hand side had been clocking charlton fans ,obviously they weren't happy after we went 1up and our supporters basically started taking the piss which i thought was brilliant its all part and parcel of football ,but i would never put it past the northern jessies picking on dads with kids ,we saw em waiting about outside ready to pick people off, we knew we could be in the fireing line because both sets of supporters converged together ,the old bill didnt av a clue ,anyway cheer up u northen mugs ,we r top of the league.

So i now have 'Cockney wind' ? ;-0

  • Who decided that Cockneys were those born within the sound of Bow Bells (St Mary Le Bow) anyway?

Sour grapes from a non Cockney born in Bromley but son of a Cockney (I think) born in Deptford

Not sure Deptford would be considered cockney. I'm a SE Londoner, not a cockney.
  • It was mainly one idiot who took a swing at a charlton fan when we were coming out. I' don't think he connected and three policeman jumped on him.
There was a bit of a bad atmosphere when the two sets of fans met ( mainly cos we were singing and that pissed them off ) but nothing much more than that.

I was a bit concerned because I had my 8 year old with me but he wanted to stay and watch the police jumping on the Wednesday supporter ! He'd never seen anything like it before especially living in leafy Bedfordshire.

None of what happened deflected from what was a fantastic day .

what part of bedfordshire are you from ? the part I grew up in is far from leafy
Biggleswade. Not really leafy but compared to Plumstead where I grew up it's the Garden of Eden. :)
im from houghton regis, which is an absolute dive :-)
Shine, Im from Leighton Buzzard mate!

It does extend about 3 miles south. Could be just outside.
  • Think Bermondsey is as south as it goes! Could be wrong though.
