I was wearing my colours in town before the game and got a bit of trouble from the locals. I thought I was going to get a belt after the match and 100% am not surprised some of them kicked off..

They will be banning away fans in the future when we play each other next

Sheffield like a lot of 'rust belt' cities is full with unemployed, bored, disillusioned, tostestorone fuelled young men .. a bit of violence in support of their 'tribe' is one of the few outlets they have to show loyalty and devotion. It is a bit of a replay of the 70s unfortunately. I blame Thatcher, Major, Blair, Cameron and all the other arrogant so called politicians who have professed to be in charge in this country over the past 1/2 century and have totally ignored the needs of the majority of the population, especially the young.
Didn't have an ounce of bother other than a woman driver who got irate coz she didn't want to let us out as she thought we were pushing in - she was going bonkers and her hubby and kids in the back were cringing at her and we were just laughing at her. It was quite bizarre, particularly as they were all charlton fans although i don't think they realised that we were. God knows what she'd have done if we'd lost. Got stuck in the diversion on A1 on way up so missed 1st couple of mins of game then straight back to car after and had dinner in a pub in Rutland and back for match of the day. All in all, a bloody good day and enjoyed a bit of banter with a few millwall boys at the kids football today. The millwall tops are being put away and the chelsea tops are back on.
the reason for any trouble between fans after the game was down to the fact that the away exit was in exactly the same place as one of the home fans exits, it is a stupid idea to have them in the same place, however i did enjoy driving past their fans on the coach and seeing all their faces haha :P

Id say its just pissed up/ coked up blokes up for a ruck.
It was mainly one idiot who took a swing at a charlton fan when we were coming out. I' don't think he connected and three policeman jumped on him. There was a bit of a bad atmosphere when the two sets of fans met ( mainly cos we were singing and that pissed them off ) but nothing much more than that.
I was a bit concerned because I had my 8 year old with me but he wanted to stay and watch the police jumping on the Wednesday supporter ! He'd never seen anything like it before especially living in leafy Bedfordshire.
None of what happened deflected from what was a fantastic day .
all I could hear from the Wedneday fans while walking back to my car afterwards were moans and groans about the standard of football Megson's men are dishing up

what part of bedfordshire are you from ? the part I grew up in is far from leafy
Pretty pathetic really but it was always going to happen if we got a result. It is funny that they were more than happy to wade into "normal" supporters including women and kids yesterday, intimidate them and throw a punch or two but back in 2004(?) for the cup game they were slapped all over the shop when they had someone that wanted to play.
On a related note, there were some of our, probably younger lot, coming out singing yesterday including the "I wanna go home" song with the line "Sheffield's a shithole". Do yourselves a favour and engage your brains. Sheffield is an edgy place. Wednesday have enough of an element and it was 100% going to be interesting outside on that corner after the game yesterday. Do not pipe up with that and act up if you are going to scurry onto the official coach 20 yards away and let some other poor buggars that just want a quiet life pick up the pieces, or more likely themselves off the floor. If you are going to be stupid, be prepared to have someone come up and be stupid with you.
a few of our lot literally got off the train in sheffield and started singing sheffields a shithole i want to go home I just don't get the point of the song

You are spot on mate!!!
It also didn't help with one of our young idiots holding up over his head a seat he had kicked out!!
When Wed came at us I looked around to see who was about and only saw more Wed come from behind...
As I mentioned on another thread the reason I got from one of their lot lookin for aggro is that when they come to London they get ambushed cos "charlton have got millwall behind em"

Biggleswade. Not really leafy but compared to Plumstead where I grew up it's the Garden of Eden.

Same as the cup game years ago, Waiting outside then but most were very 'backwards in coming forwards' when we came out!

What a strange view.
