I think we'll get a point and right now, I'd take it. But I can't help feeling like we'll be disappointed that we didn't take all three at 5pm tomorrow.
Getting major PMT for this one. Obviously want us to win, would accept a drawer but can't contemplate a defeat. I've got to live up here and an Owl at work is one of the most arrogant individuals you'd ever have the misfortune to meet! Want I hope doesn't happen is the boys not turning up. I'm sure Chris has the lads prepared more than adequately and the team will put on a show that will make us proud but you never know. All it takes is a couple of the players having an off day. Lastly, I'm hoping that those of us there sing our hearts out and turn it into a 'were you there' afternoon. I'm off for a hot lemon and honey throat soother, want my chords 100%.
This is where we really start to pull away from them also-rans from up north. A nervy 1-0 win against the wendies, followed by a storming 3-0 home win against united next week. No team from Sheffield is going to steal the numero uno position from us.
The Wendies are an excitable bunch, incredibly massive but starved of recent success. Just remember that he who is prudent and lies in wait for an enemy who is not, will be victorious. Final Score Shef Weds 1 (Wendy, 48) Charlton Athletic 2 (Bradley Wright-Phillips 23,69)
It goes without saying this is a huge test for us, and will give us our clearest indication yet as to whether we are capable of promotion this season. For me personally it is too close to call, but I feel based on merit, you are slight favourites in this game, even though our home record is excellent.
I feel you will cause us problems with your forwards, but equally we'll give you some serious problems with our strengths, which are set-pieces. Reda Johnson is a beast from corners, free kicks, long throws etc. And Rob Jones is a 6ft 7inch menace in the box. We can also mix it up (don't believe the hype about us being a hoof team). We are a much better side than the one from the Valley earlier in the season.
We have great pace in Ben Marshall on the left wing, and also the new boy Mike Jones from Bury is quick and direct on the right wing with a bullet shot on him. We also think Megson will start with Jermaine Johnson upfront who as you may know is one of the quickest players in this divison, easily.
Also our top goalscorer Gary Madine is likely to be back for tomorrow, and will be on the bench.
I like Chris Powell, he seems a gent, and always comes across well in his interviews. I hope you all enjoy Hillsborough, as old fashioned as it may be, its still a proper football stadium, with a great atmosphere in the big games.

I don't think Marshall or Jones will get much change out of Solly and Wiggins....Solly had Frei of Fulham in his pocket last week, got him subbed he was that ineffective
Feel today is the make or break of Charltons season.Over the years Hillsbrough has not been a lucky hunting ground for us. With the forward line at the moment not producing the goods alot will depend on the defence and with Sheffields home record this season can only see this going oneway.Saying that one new forward could make all the difference. Play B W P at the moment and can see this going nowhere 3-0 Sheffield, change the forwards around who knows, come 5pm tonight we will know how this season is going to end up THAT IS FORSURE.
Morning all. I would like to tell you about my night
First half sleeping like a baby (cos I'm off the booze for Jan) Got up after 4.00 for a piss. Seems like the second half of my kip was occupied by dreams about the game. In it, we went one down early, drew level, then finally went down 3-1, one of their goals was a quite outrageous handball, with a Wendy lying on the goal-line and scooping the ball in with his hand.
Don't worry. I subscribe to the theory that dreams are the brain's dustbin...
I'm even further away from Hillsborough than you, but another (very reasonable) Owl on here earlier this week doubted that Madine will be available, and looking at your own OS it says:
"Elsewhere, Gary Madine (toe) and Lewis Buxton (hamstring) have both resumed training following their respective injuries while Julian Bennett is unlikely to feature after picking up a facial injury against West Ham."
Based on all that I'd be surprised to see Madine. But if we do, I'm confident that we will deal with him, as we did with Jordan Rhodes (and you, conspicuously, didn't).
But I agree, it is a "massive" collision, can't wait.
I do know that the players are very aware of how much of a test this is. JJ felt a draw would be a decent result today. I'm concerned abotu them from set pieces, given our frailties with them for the last four or five years. I think Kermogant and BWP will cause them a lot of problems IF we get it on the floor to them - Yann is great in the air, but not against a 6'7" centre half!

In the words of that sage oldster Winner, "Calm down dear...". It's just another game albeit against one of the form teams but lets not build them up into worldbeaters. If we dont get anything out of the game it's dissapointing but not the end of the world is it!

This.
As SCP says, the Bournemouth result and performance at the beginning of the season was more important

Paddy Power disagrees but what would he know...
I will second that. Can't wait

So if come 3pm you see someone in the away end with unbrushed hair, dressing gown and Glee pyjamas, come and say hello !

Alas, I fear a 2-1 reverse.

Anytime we've had little doubts about this team they've gone and proved us wrong, Brentford game the other week is one example, beating Hudders....
Have to play our game playing it on the floor and not resort to hitting it long that's when we struggle.
