He'd be no good mate, Olly Miurs lookalike!!
  • He only does stand up on the London Underground.

That was Heather Mills' chosen career before the accident
  • Really not looking forward to going up to this. Complete opposite feeling to the lead up to Fulham with it being a "nothing-ish" game with little at stake so am hoping the result will be a complete reversal too.

Olly Muirs? He's a far too happy looking for himself, smirkey little gimp. My illusions are well and truly shattered. . . . . .

Any Real ale drinkers going down to the Fat Cat before the game?
The New Barrack Tavern as is being talked about is a real ale pub. Does quite a few foreign bottled beers too, if you like that kind of stuff, but it's mostly popular with the 'ale' crowd. They usually have a promo on buy 8 get one free, but if you have that many you may not enjoy the game......on second thoughts!

  • Fat Cat for 12 and probably the Kelham ( just opposite ) post-match - not been in the latter, but I'm told it's a good, authentic boozer with nice real ale.

  • You were well informed. Both are old fashioned real ale boozers but they are both small and get full quickly.

The Tap on platform 1 at the station is also a good real ale bar
  • Just ask @Redarmyse7 what I gave him for Christmas.

Not at all crowded when I went in them both before the match last year, probably cos they are about halfway between the city centre and Hillsborough (nearest tram stop is Shalesmoor) Met a crowd of Southend lads in there, who were at Rotherham that day.--totally puzzled as to why we signed Simon Francis.
  • Our record away at their place aint too good is it? i read that the last 5 were 3 defeats 2 draws - is this right?
In which case, has anyone off here got an unbeaten record when watching away games? (not just this season - as weve been pretty impressive throughout, but in other seasons too, or if youre counting this season - didnt travel to stevenage or orient....) or know anyone who has - get them along for added luck
other than swindon in the playoffs not seen an away loss (in the league, not counting Fulham) since we got hammered away at united (sheffield) bout 3 or 4 years ago, although until this season only went to 3/4 away games a season, already on 5 so far this yr!!

Kelham island pubs are good, rerally nice local brew aswell

I heard you gave him Blumkin.

Went up to 1209 when withdrawn. On sale at the ground same price.

  • Safe trip tomorrow ladies and gents. Hope you have a good day.
I think it will be a belter of a game actually, nothing like the awful one at The Valley earlier in the season. Ive gone for a 3-3 draw with BWP getting at least two!

    I'll take it!
  • Me too. But in an ideal world, it would nice for us to win tomorrow and for you to totally smash that other lot next week at your place!! Then, when Jordan Rhodes leaves Udders that will leave the both of us to go up automatically!

    Easy!
  • We'd rather beat both of you and take the seven point lead at the top, thanks. :-)
  • Thats just being bloody greedy!! :)
  • I'm getting the tram from the station tomorrow. Bearing in mind i was planning on going to the pub before (new barack tavern?) should i go Hillsborough or Leppings lane?
  • Hello Folev. You need to get off at Bamforth Street, one stop before Hillsborough, then walk down Bamforth Street on to Penistone Road, look to your left and the New Barrack is there. Its then exactly 1 mile from the pub to the ground.
  • Top stuff @SeasonedOwl. I see what you mean now. Blue tram...

    and then....

Is the New Barack Tavern popular with away fans usually?
  • Yes, you get a decent mix in there and there is never any bother. You get the resident geography teacher/social worker types and then the older, brow beaten Wednesday fans groaning in each corner. Beards always seem popular in there too! There is a little room immediately on your left, but you need life membership to get in there (!) then the bar is a little further on on your left and a big room opposite the bar with a real fire. There is an enclosed, medium sized courtyard out the back for a smoke. If you like real ales there is usually a very good selection from around the country. Barnsley Bitter and Farmers Bitter are two of my faves. The latter brewed at Bradfield Brewery which is just up the hill from Hillsborough.
