Post match views. (Fulham)

We were second best in many areas but nothing else was expected. Powell will know what he needs to push on and may be looking to his board for money in the next few weeks. Lets see what he does to mix it up a bit and freshen up the squad. Keeping the faith.

  • Feeling of Meh about it tbh
  • stats Fulham first-:

    Possession   59% - 41%
    shots on             9 - 7
    shots off             5 - 2
    corners               8 - 6

    GOALS               4 - 0

  • Couldn't give a shit.
  • few decent pockets of play, but an insignificant game, cant help wishing bradley had scored if only to bring his confidence back.
  • As I said on the match thread Premier League quality, they are just more clinical.

Shit happens look forward to a much more impotant game next Saturday.

Its potentially a blessing......CP and defence will not like losing 4 goals and this should make them hungrier for next week. If we had taken a chance at beggining of 2nd half it may have been a bit different, but all-in-all Prem beats League1nothing shocking there!!

(MK dons now have a replay as well at QPR, so an extra game for them inbeween a home game with Carlise and an away game at Notts County)
  • Not glad we lost but am glad that we can get on with winning the league without distraction. That's the only important thing this season. Won't harm the players or management to see first hand what we are compared to where we want to be.
  • I'm glad we lost.. but I must say it didn't sound very clever at all on Player, apart from a 15 minute spell in the 2nd half. We haven't been playing well for a while now so personally I'm still very concerned about next Saturday's game. Fingers crossed.

  • 4-0 is a bit worrying. Sounds underserved, I just hope it doesn't knock confidence too badly. Best case scenarios today were either needed a win today or a galant defeat. That said, I think this team are probably made of stern enough stuff to stay on track in the league and I'm relieved we don't have a replay sandwiched between the Sheffield games.

  • What i'm afraid of is getting beaten by a large score may affect confidence before such big game  next week.
  • From Rich Crawley on twitter-:

Fulham's first and fourth goals both had deflections. And Stockdale made a number of saves to deny #cafc. They can be proud of their display.

  • Interested to hear what happened in the away end, pictures surfacing on twitter of Charlton fans fighting?
  • i know that they are a premiship side and so dont expect us to ever beat them. however, it does sting a little when you think we were what fulham wanted to be when we were in the prem. most of the time i'm over that fact. apart from when a team like fulham does beat us. still got quite a long way to go. oh well, i'm sure we will get there.
now to take down a team who still live in their very distant past.
  •  Won't harm the players or management to see first hand what we are compared to where we want to be.
Agreed. If any of our squad were beginning to believe the hype about us being top of the league, they have been given a wake-up call. We are top of the 3rd league in our country. Fantastic as it is, we've along way to go, to get back to being equal to the likes of Fulham. (A team that i would have said we were at least equal to, if not bigger). Humble Powell is, and so should his players be.
  • From Ben Hamer at the game-:
Lads definitely should of had a goal today. Stockdale was on fire.. Great support from the fans again 7,000 plus!

This...There was a period in the 2nd half when we were over 'em like a rash. BWP should've scored and Stockdale mad a triffic save from DG's piledriver. Good performance. Never gave up. 4-0 was flatering.
  • Annoyed at the scorline but against premiership class it was always going to be tough. League focus now and this was always our objective. COYR!!!!

  • We were unlucky, Fulham stepped it up a gear in the 2nd half. The score flatters them.

    As for Fulhams support, SHOCKING.

    4-0 and you still don't sing!'n

  • What happened at the end? fighting?
  • Bring on my gloating plank friends.....of all the people who could have scored a hat-trick it had to be Dempsey!!
  • On tube. 4-0 flattered Fulham, for 20 mins+ in second half we definitely looked more likely to score. Proud of them. Today's result does not matter ,on this display looking forward to next week. One Aim. Our support was fantastic, Fulham fans boring.

Cracking day. Sod the score. The difference was that they had finishers and we didn't . We played some lovely stuff both halfs and Solly , Pritchard and Kermigant were outstanding .
Those who didn't go will look at the score and be worried - don't be.
If BWP had managed to put his chance away early in the second half It would have been so much different.
In the end class told but we were excellent at times,
The crowd was fantastic ( didn't hear a peep from Fulham ) .

    Bring on the Wendies .
  • Dempsey's a good player. He can't help being a Yank. :-)
