  • Not the best performance, we missed jackson big time in midfield - good point though seeing as sheff wed drew 4-4 in the end
  • Think we need to sort out the substitutions issue to be honest, A) who is on the bench and B) how and when they are used. I think this is looking like our weak link at the minute.

Unfortunately just not good enough again today, same kind of lack of spark as last week. We miss stevo, jj and hughes badly and one of those is entirely preventable.
  • Who would you have Hughes ahead of ISLS? I think Russel has been one of our best players last two games?

BWP is having a Rooney at the moment and nothing is falling or going right for him. We're just lacking a spark at the mo, Hollands had a poor game today and the back four lacked some composure that forced them to hoof rather than play.

We still have 'it', it's just one of those times, puts pressure on us to win at one of either Orient or Yeovil now.
  • Too many players on an off day . Morrison , Ephrain and BWP all poor . ( especially the latter) and Oldham well up for it . 1-1 about right.
Poor ref today. Never let the game flow.
Great result at Hillsborough means we are still on track .
    COYR !!
  • Two poor, sub-standard performances on the trot & two poor shows by BWP. Nothing to worry about just yet but if this continues it's going to be a very "interesting" second half of the season. There's still a very long way to go & theres plenty of time for us to get sucked back into the pack. We need to regroup now & push on again. COYR!!!
  • Awful Match, So much timewasting!
Wright Phillips went straight down the tunnel at the end as well!
  • Still prefer Hughes to Russel they are much of a muchness but I wouldnt have rocked the boat by bringing in someone on loan who I dont think is a step up. If we had Hayes on the bench today (why?!) we would have used him to give Kermorgant a break as he cant have known what day it was. Euell couldnt be trusted today so why is he the only forward on the bench?

    .
  • ISLS is correct. The bench today was cack. Front two didnt click at all - no one to come on and replace either of them.

We didnt do enough to win. Yet again a team plays defensively and we end up lumping the ball long.

Looking forward to January when we will hopefully bring a forward in who is capable of replacing Yann or BWP.
  • Steve, what do you expect him to do? Surely you know his character by now not to read anything into it? He will know he has had a bad game and continued his barren run so running around clapping probably isn't at the top of his mind.

  • Just thought he could have clapped the crowd like everyone else.
  • The curse...
  • I didnt think BWP was particularly dreadful, he was certainly a step up from last week, we just need a Plan B up front and we havent got one. The only thing close to a Plan B was in the stand.

  • Surely today show how much we need another goalscoring option from the bench. I have no idea while Euell is being selected above Hayes. When we needed to change it today and add another dimension in the last 5 - 10 minutes we didnt have the option. Very frustrated!
  • We also have Benson available, who is a proven goalscorer at this level, why isn't he even on the bench?
  • The thing that has really done my head in last week and today is that we have done the hard work by turning over the likes of huddersfield and shef u and its games like these against lesser teams where the results are the icing on the cake that we cant seem to get. For all we have achieved this season and for how good we have been we were a minute away from losing 5 points off our lead in a week. I just hope a bit of complacency hasnt started to sneak in.
  • Hope this isn't going to turn into a massive over reaction thread or suicide thread

Keep perspective and if you aint noticed we are still top by a big margin and drew with a team who beat mk fraud already this season

I will keep saying it there's a long way to go we will lose games this season

We are not losing but not playing great at the min

    Keep theft faith

We were not at our best. Oldham came to spoil and waste time and were good at it aided by some truly awful officials. That's the first pop that I have had at the ref and lines this season but they played directly into Oldhams game plan and let us down. No bad performances from Charlton but just something missing at the moment. I suspect it could be a bit of luck.

As nla says. Keep the faith.
  • 47 points from 20 games, by my reckoning we need another 40 (give or take a point) to secure automatic promotion and we have 26 games to get them in.

  • Wow. Not a brilliant performance but have you seen worse officiating all season? So hope we go up because it will make it all the more sweeter given what we've had to endure.

Although I don't necessarily agree with not having Hayes (or Benson) on the bench, I do understand it.

Neither of those have attributes that are superior to our first choice. They're not impact subs that will put defences on the back foot or offer something different, whereas Euell covers positions.

Like i said, I don't agree, but understand. First priority in January.
  • And Benson is not a proven goal scorer at this level and does not possess the ability we need
  • Same as last week. We desperately miss JJ and I think with Hollands not at his best we offered very little. Russel has been good but I think we look much more sound with Hughes. Wiggins and Kermorgant were the only people who looked really interested today. Having said that we are 5 points clear at Christmas and we will win the next two games and all will be well..if it wasn't well enough already.
  • Think we need to forget the Benson thing. He ain't ever playing for us again. He will be replaced in January.

Benson I think could be an impact sub, he's obviously on his way and but for some bad timing would already be gone, but until then when we have no other goal scorer at the club it might be worth giving him a run-out lateish in games and seeing what he can do. Over 90 minutes I doubt it would be much, but over 10-15 minutes, who knows? As BWP clearly wasnn't firing on all cylinders it would have been worth the experiment.
  • Thought Oldham did a number on us.

    One of them games.

Far prefer Hughes to Russell, Hogan really disappointing for me.

Miss the drive that JJ and Stephens give us....and the ref was probably the worst I've seen down there, bloody awful!

  • Results went and are going for us right now aswell Preston 1 up at the fraud currently going into the 2nd half
  • I'm really not understanding what people think Hughes offers over Russel.  Russel is a far superior footballer.
