The only game where i've seen arguments between sitters and standers this season is Stevenage it's only usually a problem when we sell out, no doubt they'll be loads of it at Fulham. And the thing that really ruins the atmosphere at games where we sell out is not so much the sitting down more that there's no core singing sections to get the noise started.
When i go i like to stand but always after about 30 seconds of the game starting have a look around at those near me. If some are sitting down and im in the way then ill sit down. If its ok to stand then ill stand.
basically its all about good manners. if you cant stand then your shit out of luck for that game and should sit...or try moving to the back if theres room available.
Easy.
if only everyone were like you then we'd have no problems
think this is what alot of people are like to be honest its just some of our fans that think everybody should be forced to stand. My ticket at walsall on saturday was about the fourth row from the front and was sittting. Once the match began we looked around and moved to where we could stand. This is all well and good where there are empty seats but im guessing at fulham there wont be many. Unreserved seating is the best for everybody in my opinion.
I think a few of you are missing the point.............it is ILLEGAL to stands at football matches now (unless it is terracing of course) and if you buy a ticket it is for a SEAT and you should SIT in it.
I would prefer to sit, but don't mind standing ala Palace a few years ago but that is not the point. You don't have a choice anynore and you want to go to watch football you will have to be prepared to sit down. I appreciate that during some points during a game (corners etc) the crowd will natuarally stand, but not for the whole game.
Then you can't come on here complaining that we have such a poor away following when those that simply can't stand up for two hours refuse to go, and their families choose to stay home with them.
It would seem we are a lot more like Millwall than I thought!
Did i complain about poor away support ?
12 December you said "Really thats shocking its not sold out we do have crap away support"
FFS it was a joke was that liek 1 hour after they went on sale get real
When you had standing, you used to have a seated area, normally in the main stand at most games for those who wanted a bit of comfort. Maybe clubs could look into doing this again rather than chucking everybody in together. It may be an admission that there will be standing but at least its a solution rather than having the friction that must exist at every club.
i don't think it affects any other clubs away numbers just ours
I appreciate your expertise in this matter ooh aah and retract my ridiculous suggestion. After all, i wouldn't expect you or any others to show such impertinence when i'm lecturing on the engine room.
P7 are all standing seats so i'll swop my 20 for 20 in the middle to back of P4. First come, first served.
I'm interested - check your inbox.
i do hope your joking.
you know you want to
I'm actually conducting this conversation blind as i don't have access to my inbox at the moment but i'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to.
I'd LOVE to.
What, standing up? To be honest, i forgot to check as i got in late last night so still don't know where my tickets are but there are 20 of us and we'll all be happy wherever so thanks, but no thanks - i think.
