it's a valid point though Steve. I don't have a problem with standing and I'm quite aware of the fact that I might have to stand at Fulham, especially being in Row XX. However my old parents can't stand for 90 minutes. Now some people's arguement would be that they shouldn't go but why shouldn't they ? They are doing nothing wrong. Rightly or wrongly we currently have all SEATER stadiums. Stand by all means if no-one objects but if someone does then do them the courtesy of sitting so that they can see. If people have a problem with this concept maybe it is them that shouldn't go.
but large the club know your parents go a lot of away matches why not ask them to put tickets in the first couple of rows to one side.I really dont see the drama in it.
we are top of the league , sold over 5 thousand for a away cup game, so nothing really to moan about, I know let's start a barney about standing a matches.
Smoking in the toilets
Samples not coming back
There's always something to moan about : - )
got samples back after 6 months on Wednesday, the stewards were in the toilets for Huddersfield, although they did say it was a one off which is a shame.
I did that 20 years ago, like to think i've grown out of it - each to their own though, thats all i'm saying and if the muppets down the road feel they still have to be lacosted and Ralphed up, leave them to it. There's only one winner in that game and it aint the mugs who are paying the ridiculous prices.
'Primarni Dan', Charlton's fashion guru.
i make all my own clothes - nobody else does it well enough
Then you can't come on here complaining that we have such a poor away following when those that simply can't stand up for two hours refuse to go, and their families choose to stay home with them.
It would seem we are a lot more like Millwall than I thought!
we must have the only support that wont sit down for those that can't see , well the only support that is affected by the rudeness of some not to abide by the rules

Did i complain about poor away support ?
12 December you said
"Really thats shocking its not sold out we do have crap away support"
I'm also sure that it was a little obvious that my comment about complaining about our poor away support was not aimed at him specifically.
However, my Dad and I have enough time and disposable income to travel to a lot of away games, but we only go to a few a year because we get there and find that someone is standing for the whole game and will not sit down, irrespective as to how many times we ask them to. My Dad is 70 and just can't stand up for the whole game. Thus we decide not to go again for a while.
Like Large said, I don't have a problem with standing, but until the clubs devise a way for those that want to sit to be secured a view many in my position will choose to only go to the 'big' games.
The minimum that I expect when I pay to watch football is to be able to actually see it.
For the record I wasn't looking to moan, but to contribute to the discussion concerning our poor away support. If we were guaranteed a view we would probably go to 20 away games a season, rather than three or four.
very valid KHA. My Dad very rarely goes away games nowaday's due to this. I am sure there are others in the same boat. What get's me is that the 'standers' don't accept they are the one's in the wrong and then get all abusive and aggressive about it. I go to enjoy a game of football and can't really be arsed with all this nonsense.
When you had standing, you used to have a seated area, normally in the main stand at most games for those who wanted a bit of comfort. Maybe clubs could look into doing this again rather than chucking everybody in together. It may be an admission that there will be standing but at least its a solution rather than having the friction that must exist at every club.
When i go i like to stand but always after about 30 seconds of the game starting have a look around at those near me. If some are sitting down and im in the way then ill sit down. If its ok to stand then ill stand.
basically its all about good manners. if you cant stand then your shit out of luck for that game and should sit...or try moving to the back if theres room available.

Easy.
if only everyone were like you then we'd have no problems

This is 95% of our support. We could win the Champions League and someone would moan about standing up or the price of a pint.
We're all off to Wem-Ber-lee : - )

Send me your bank details and I'll do the refund. I'll need that little number off of the the back as well.
