I don't think it's much use justifying the booing because it's no worse than Millwall's or Palace's fans. If we're happy being on a par with that shower then we may as well pack it all in
If you want to see some the twats that boo the players , just go where upper north front row meets the north east corner and you will find a few there. Morons
exactly plaaayer. the word 'scapegoat' drives me mad. if ur shit...ur shit. theres no other label for it. we arent picking on the player...we are just telling him how it is.
You tell him before he's even kicked the ball? Or you tell him even when he's the most talented young player we've produced in a generation?
As Stu said 'what booing?'. I never heard any and neither did many others so it was hardly loud or consistent. In the East stand there were lots of groans and lots of laughter, no booing. I guy a few rows behind me used a few choice words at times, are we saying that bad language is a problem at The Valley, no, because it was isolated. Just like the booing. Mountain out of molehill.
Do you think it'll be his last game for us? I'd like to see Jordan Cousins as the second choice right back, that lad has so much potential. We also have Hughes who can play right back. Francis isn't needed and isn't good enough, in my opinion.
Turning on our own players is pretty dumb , it plays into the oppositions hands ,and means we are at a disadvantage, goodness what we'd be like if we'd just lost 5-1 like Sheffield Weds have this week, we need to think Pie + Microwave = Get behind the boys! as the saying goes, and sing out hearts out... Chrissie Powell's red and white Army!

my microwave is on the blink but I will still get behind the boys
Kim Grant got booed when we were 5-1 up and I remember when we got our fifth, he trudged back to the halfway line almost in tears while the players were celebrating the goal. The only time I have ever booed since that day was the Leeds debacle in 2005 or whenever it was. And only then it was at half time, followed by a cheer before the second half. For me, that's the only way booing could ever work - If you make it clear the performance unacceptable at the end of the half, and then get right behind the team for the second half and don't boo again.
Anyone who was at The Valley between, say, 1997 and 2004 will know how important the crowd was to our results in the Prem. I'd love for that to happen again, but I'm not holding my breath.
My dad has a program lying around from 1989. Lenny Lawrence's notes were along the lines of "I know the team aren't playing well, and it is frustrating, but we only have 13 players so booing them will not help anyone. I can't make any changes."
Booing isn't a new phenomena by any stretch, and the Big Brother culture that hes pervaded football in the last ten years exists, but I don't agree with Prague that Charlton are one of many - I think there's a scale, and over the last 5 years, we've been at the very bottom of it.
JiMMy 85, it was actually 1-1 when he missed the chance and I think it was still 1-1 when Curbs took him off, I have never been so ashamed to be a fan as on that day it was a disgrace.
As far as Francis is concerned, hopefully we are well covered in that area and should he stay he won't be required. BUT if he is how do those fans that booed him think ke will feel running out at the Valley knowing it will start again if not before kick off as soon as he makes a misplaced pass (bound to happen I know).
He may not be up to the football we want to play but as of now he is our player and should he be called upon to play he needs to think the fans are behind him not there waiting desperately to get on his back.

No offence Dick, but there is no evidence it is plugged in. You have checked, right? Get behind the microwave!

Were you listening to Flight of the Valkyries whilst writing that?
